Chris Hayes at MSNBC is a Liar
Not shockingly MSNBC, #inners, are huge supporters of Obamacare, the ACA, and claimed, tonight, that all ‘horror stories about Obamacare fall apart when you push against them. Well, push against our story and tell me if it falls apart. Those too lazy to read my bio, I have had cancer and used m ...

Rape Insurance?
The liberal left is great at naming things to suit their agenda even though it is disingenuous at best or a lie at worst, take rape insurance for example. Michigan had a voter initiative signed by 300,000 residents that demanded the legislature to pass a law barring insurers from covering ...

White Privilege, It Doesn't Exist
I have been debating whether or not to post this. It was a tough decision because being a white guy I have 2 strikes against me, 1. I’m white and 2. I am male. Being white an male I am not supposed to have an opinion on race or if I do have such an opinion I am supposed to keep it to myself, I guess. Well, I have surgery on Thursday, 3/13/2014, and since “you never know” I figured what the hell. Here it goes…
Have you watched or listened to the Dunn trial , AKA the Loud Music Trial, verdict at all? I admit I did not watch or follow it unlike the George Zimmerman trial which I watched from opening statements to the verdict so I don’t know everything about it. However, I did watch enough to know the prosecutors, like with Zimmerman and the same prosecutors as Zimmerman, overcharged Dunn with 1st degree murder and there is some room for reasonable doubt — not much, but some. Considering the driver of the car was on parole, I believe there is a reason for the three survivors to not be truthful, as their friend would go bye-bye for a while. In the end, I am pretty sure Dunn is guilty of murder though.
To be clear, before I get into this article, I have zero issues with anyone’s race, sex, creed or religion. I grew up in a middle-middle class neighborhood and some my fondest memories revolve around Mrs. Seals serving us delicious frozen fruit pops on hot summer days, bringing me to Ponderosa after going to her church, occasionally spending the night, when my brother would let me, and when she brought us to the zoo. My brother was good friends with her son, Charles, and me,being the younger brother, always tried to tag along. I also have fond memories of Brian Cage who’s rear end I saved many times from other people, his mouth wrote checks his body couldn’t cash. We often hung out at his house and traveled, by bike, to the mall like idiots. The mall was miles away on major roads and we were younger than 12. Later in life, I had other great friends and coworkers who were not white. My very closest friend is from Venezuela.
I am also fairly confident that we all have black, Asian or other “minority” blood running through our veins, we all have a common ancestor whether it is Adam and Eve or the missing link. I believe in the human race, period and only judge people on the content of their character, unless they can further my career of course! I don’t see Obama as black or white, he is both you know, he is the president and like the last few presidents I dislike him and his policies. I love everyone until I get t know them, OK, are we clear about this?
Many believe the Dunn verdict is a slap in the face of blacks and proves there is no justice. I disagree, as the media simplifies these cases, inserts their narrative, which is always the worst of human nature, which make people predetermine their opinion on guilt or innocence before the facts are all on the table. Look, there are 5 people who know exactly what happened that night, 1 is dead and the other 4 have a reason to not be truthful.
However, on certain networks, huh-hum, MSNBC, I have heard the term white privilege being used to “clear” guilty white people who “get away” with murdering black people. They throw around this term of white privilege as if it is fact and being white gets you off the hook when you do something stupid, it doesn’t. My Lord, some “victims” are not always victims and killers aren’t always evil racist, women hating bigots, in general, some are obviously. White privilege is being spread as a truth to stoke racial, in this case black against white, as if racism is always white against all, tensions, spread victimization and shift total blame on others. Sometimes this is justified, especially in historical context, but generally this is wrong and evil.
If there is white privilege I want to file a complaint or redeem some of my privilege points or whatever I need to do to cash in on my whiteness. I have clearly been screwed in this race thing because I don’t live in a big house, have a college degree, a big car, a huge bank account, devoid of any problems in fact I have too many problems. Contrary to popular belief I have had many run ins with the police, been unfairly treated, harassed and hassled, albeit not lately, like 25 years ago and for stupid things. I also got screwed by my doctors, I guess I didn’t give the right white privilege code word or coupon since 1 doctor did an unnecessary surgery on me that has crippled me for life. I was let go from a job because I moved a chair, seriously. Then I got fired from my very next job because they felt I should have disclosed a traffic ticket. Sure, it was a misdemeanor ticket, but basically a fine is not like I killed anyone or went to jail. I am kidding of course, as each of those issues are my fault, even the chair thing, except for the doctor and disclosure things, both of which were travesties to me and my family.
There is no white privilege and to propagate such a myth does nothing but enrage racial tensions. I will say there is such a thing as wealth privilege. Look at the affluenza case recently, Wall St., and a million other cases when wealth bought the best outcome possible, innocence. This applies to O.J. Simpson who killed 2 people, supposedly (lawyers) and who is not white, but maybe some of his deceased wife’s white privilege rubbed off on him. The bottom line is life is hard and not fair for all.
If you were like me and did stupid stuff as a kid, which you were guilty of even though not convicted, do you really blame the police pulling you over? Shinning a spot light on your home at 3 AM, randomly searching you, calling your school to let the administration know you are a punk? Perhaps if I didn’t do such stupid things or hangout with other idiots, it is a safe bet I wouldn’t have been harassed the way I was. Regardless, I did and my behavior, actions and choices were mine to make, my responsibility and had nothing to do with me being of a particular race.
Did you know more white people are on food stamps than black people? is that white privilege? Did you know that only 40% of the prison population is black? Awful, right? Well, yes but that leaves 60%, the majority of prisoners, being of non-black origins; 34% are white and 20% are Hispanic, according to Wikipedia, which shows that there are more blacks in prison overall, but total population is split mostly between black and white with a 6% difference overall. Now, some will use statistics to bolster their case because pulling X% out of 100,000 usually helps them make their point, but the bottom line is whites and blacks are in prison and are the 2 largest groups. At least closer than you thought, right?
Even arrest rates are fairly close, with 49% of black males having been arrested by age 23, 44% of Hispanic males arrested by age 23 and 38% of white males arrested by age 23, found on Wikipedia. We can argue sentencing disparities if you want, I didn’lt pull data on that, but I am willing to say, I think, because of mandatory sentencing guidelines minorities get screwed because they are more likely to be arrested for drugs which carry minimum sentencing guidelines and this helps explain why mandatory sentencing needs to go. However, just because one group prefers to stick to one area of crime that they know has harsh sentencing that doesn’t mean the system is rigged or racially biased in my opinion. i am sure there is bias but that bias is in the sentencing guidelines, its hard to argue that thousands of police, judges, jurors, etc. are all out to imprison young black males.
Here is a great statistic, in 2001 only 640,000 black males were in college which meant more black males were in prison than in college, which was/is very sad. However, a decade later, there are now 1,440,000 black males in college while the prison population is the same, 800,000 or so. That means more black males are getting a state education that doesn’t involve supervision by armed guards! Seriously, this is a great stat, but still too low, give to the United Negro College Fund, seriously, its a great cause although i dislike the term negro.
We can discuss cause and effect of race incarceration, but I think its fairly clear, poverty is the main problem. Poverty is a major problem for every race, but within the black community the poverty problem is compounded by the fact that the poverty is generational and the family unit has declined so much it is a rarity and almost doesn’t exist. You can say women are strong and can raise a family on their own, I was raised by a single mom, but my father was around which mattered. I guess its not PC to say it, but having both male and female role models, positive role models, gives even the impoverished a better chance of getting out than having only 1 parent. Look, it may be old fashioned, but try to stay together in some way. Having 10 kids by 10 different women doesn’t make you cool it makes you a deadbeat dad.
It is also clear that while we are all Americans but we have separated ourselves in different communities even though we have an integrated country. Little Italy, Chinatown, Polish, Russian, and, of course, the South Side, which is usually the “bad” area, are all common names in big cities and even small cities. I can tell you where all these areas are in dumpy Syracuse NY. So, we segregate ourselves in different ways but its mostly done with ethnicities. the funny thing is that it is crystal clear that other cultures break into other cultures, but the strongest imfluence on all cultures is the black culture.
Its not a bad thing the culture overlap and it shows that we have come a long way. Black culture, in particular, has penetrated white culture, but the opposite hasn’t happened. I am talking about the baggy pants around the knees, slang like ‘get jiggy wit it’, a personal favorite or mine, etc. When you’re a teenage this stuff doesn’t matter but as an adult and in the business world baggy pants and using a different slang language isn’t going to fly, not yet anyhow and I hope it never does as we butchered the English language enough already.
You can call me a bigot, which isn’t true, or other nasty terms most of which I bet I never even heard of before, but you have to admit I make some good points. This is clear when we have a national case like a George Zimmerman or Dunn, we all go into our corners and then come out swinging. Blacks call us all racists and claim there is no justice and whites either go on the defensive or side with the blacks and are more radical in their divisive racist claims.
I can assure you of a few things, if I think someone is guilty after the evidence is presented it is because the prosecution made their case. If I think the defendants not guilty it means the defense made their case. I do not and nor should anyone let the media decide the case for us. Look at George Zimmerman, sure, you hate him, he is an idiot, but anyone looking at the case without the political or racism add-ons it was pretty clear that there was reasonable doubt. Say what you will about Zimmerman’s wounds he was the only one with marks on him, except the gunshot, obviously.
However, if Martin was the complete victim wouldn’t there be wounds on him? There weren’t any. We know Martin was no stranger to fighting so I can see him confronting Zimmerman, who was in the wrong for being there, and I can see Martin being the aggressor. We know he tried to get a gun in the past so it was not out of the question for him to go for Zimmerman’s gun especially if Martin felt like his life were in danger. Just no matter how you cut it there was either outright forensic evidence backing Zimmerman or enough reasonable doubt to acquit.
If you didn’t watch the trial and let the media fill your head with their “facts” you would assume Zimmerman was guilty or you wanted him to be guilty. You can’t frame someone as a racist unless you know they are a racist and, frankly, calling Zimmerman a racist is racism or forcing racial bias against the defendant. Just because a white guy, FYI Zimmerman is a mixed race Hispanic, killed a black kid it is highly unlikely he planned it and to think otherwise is ridiculous and I hope to God you are never an a jury. Not every white guy who has shot a black person is guilty of murder and vice versa.
Another aspect is the fact that youth as a whole are much more aggressive than ever before. I don’t know why this is happening, but it is. This aggression is, in my opinion, equal among the races with minorities being slightly more aggressive. I can only speculate as to why but we likely covered it in one of the above paragraphs with one additional point, extreme poverty means that people feel like they have nothing to lose which may lead to more violent, aggressive or confrontational behavior. Not to mention in poor neighborhoods toughness is a positive trait which sends the message to young kids that fighting or violent behavior is ok. Gangs often perpetuate this as well, look at initiations which involve, often times, getting beat up or beating someone else up or worse.
I have a personal example, when I was a young man, 20 years ago, my friends and I were at a gas station getting a soda. A group of 3 or 4 young, like 14 years old, kids come up to my friend and demand his change. He said no, but the kid didn’t like that. The kid took a swing at my friend and the kids friends surrounded him which led to me and my other friend to go to his defense. I didn’t want to hurt these kids so I threw one around a little and got us back to the car as we were already up to no good that night and didn’t need the cops around. Anyhow, the kids regrouped and came towards me in the car. My window was down, I was the driver, and all of a sudden I see a knife in his hand and he stabbed me in the arm! A 13 or 14 year old just stabbed me!
Anyhow, like I said kids are more aggressive nowadays than ever before which leads me to believe Zimmerman and Dunn were likely either aggressively confrontationed or did something to instigated the violence in some way. I mean, if a guy starts talking about hitting me, or teaching me a lesson or whatever I assume we are going to fight. If someone starts using a racial slur in the context of the previous sentence I would likely take the threat more seriously… a side note, who would call a white guy the N word especially if they are black, I don’t get it, find it offensive and would lead mw to believe I am in trouble. That’s what the N word does to mean, its code for I’m gonna hurt you. If you are going to degrade me which a word that degrades yourself like that I think you are a punk or worse, it just seems more violent to me.
The bottom line is there is no white privilege, life is hard and not fair for everyone, period. Life doesn’t owe us anything, no one owes us anything for that matter, so stop thinking like that. Each race has to be more respectful of themselves and others, no more calling ourselves names, i.e. white trash, the N word or what have you. If we don’t respect ourselves how can we respect each other? Stop assuming everyone is racist as that is beyond stupid. Sure, racists exist in every ethnic group, but it is a small percentage of each group that are real racists. However, I see a trend of blacks becoming more racist than ever before mostly because the race hustlers are fanning the flames of manufactured outrage in a society that is very tolerant of most people and things nowadays.
Whites don’t wake up and plan on shooting blacks and blacks don’t wake up planning to shoot whites. We are all just trying to get through life but sometimes 2 people collide and one or both do something stupid and someone dies. It doesn’t mean race was at the forefront of whatever started it. We also need to know that even in America different words or actions mean different things to different races of people keep that in mind. Whites can’t use the N word, blacks shouldn’t either, and when we hear blacks use it to each other or in talking about us it seems threatening. Dressing like a gangster, regardless of your race, seems threatening. Keep this stuff in mind. Unfortunately I do not know what actions make blacks feel threatened, calling 911, kidding, but seriously i don’t know… That’s the problem, we just don’t know each other well enough. We have to stop boxing ourselves in our little segregated communities and only then will we all change.
Just stop letting Al Sharpton, MSNBC or any other media outlet makeup your mind before the facts are aired. Odds are they are wrong, will lead you down the wrong path so far you can never reverse your position even after you know you have been proven wrong. If you are easily led by the race hustlers, MSNBC, other media idiots, I beg of you, please, let the judge and attorneys know your an idiot. We don’t need more bad jurors.

Has the Deficit Really Been Cut in Half Under Obama?
Obama and Company have made much over the ‘drastic’ drop in the annual deficit since he took office. In fact, he had promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term in office, but he never specified in half from what and there is the rub. You see, in the final year of the Bush disaster, I mean, presidency we had a little thing happen, the end of the world as we knew it hit. The mother of all crises was on our doorstep and government had to do something it never had done before, bailout the private sector. This was done through TARP, a $700 billion dollar check to banks, automakers and insurers, but that wasn’t planned, it was a one-off event and Obama voted for it. The bottom line is that it drove the annual deficit up to over $1T but it wasn’t actual budget spending and was repaid, which also offset future annual deficits. Are you still following this? This is why they can lie and get away with it. To blame the crisis on Bush is inaccurate and to blame the deficit going over $1T as Bush’s fault is also inaccurate, it had to be done unless you really don’t like America and our way of life. We worry about blame way too much and truth be known the blame goes to Clinton, Larry Summers as well as Bush and the democrats in Congress, but no one likes the truth so why bother explaining.

Economic Sanctions: Who Holds the Real Power, the US or Russia?
Obama has sent out a strongly worded Tweet to Vlad Putin saying we will issue economic sanctions against you. Unfortunately, that is a meaningless threat as we have next to no trade with Russia, $38B in trade is nothing, and it is the European Union, EU, that has $500B in trade with Russia. What damage can we do economically to Russia? Nothing and that isn’t a strong message anyhow. Remember how deficits don’t matter? Well, here is why they do matter, Russia is tight with China and both countries hold significant US debt, Russia at $131 billion in US debt and China holds $1 trillion + in our debt. History lesson from the not so distant past, during 2008 when we almost lost everything Russia called China and said they should both sell their US debt holdings. Anyone want to guess what would have happened if that actually did happen? You wouldn’t be reading this right now, I can assure you of that. The US is totally dependent upon issuing debt in order to fund our everyday spending, yes, it’s true. We, as a country, do not have any self funded program because in the great wisdom of some politician, in order to hide deficits, they mandated, in 1983, that all taxes and withholding’s from your paycheck go into the general fund.

Obama, Putin and the Ukraine
There cannot be very many people who are truly surprised by Putin’s move in the Ukraine. That is to say no one foresaw, that I know of, all the issues that have come to light in the country, but since Syria and the Snowden episode, I view Snowden as a hero, it was very obvious Vladimir Putin was going to do something to push Obama into a spot. The Ukraine event was just very convenient for Putin as the two countries have a very long and sorted past, as in the Ukraine has been the victim of Russia. Obama, Putin Many on the left are saying Bush set the president because he gave Vladimir a pass in the Georgian episode, but not so fast on that train of thought. I rarely give Bush a pass on anything but when Russia ‘invaded’ Georgia it was at the end of his presidency, the McCain-Obama race was heating up and Bush had his hands full with both Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention he was already hated by, well, everyone. It is also safe to say Russia has had many issues with the Georgian’s for a very, very long time and in that area there are a fair amount of Islamic issues, I guess that is PC, right. Only 20% of Georgia is considered Islamic, but historically, in the Caucus region, Russia and Georgia were allies in the fight against the spread of Islam going back 200+ years.

That was Short Lived: MSNBC back on the Traffic Jam
I was so proud of MSNBC for the last couple of days, they actually covered other events besides the traffic jam in Fort Lee. Keep in mind that there has been zero evidence Chris Christie knew about this, zero, even though the participant list, or suspected participant list, has grown from 2 to over 5 people talking about it. However, none of these emails or messages went to Christie, most are between Wildstein and Bridgette Kelly. I am sorry, but thinking Christie should have known or he ‘must have’ known doesn’t cut it and is not evidence. So far, it is just Al Sharpton, who should never be called a reverend anymore, starting up on bridgegate. Al Sharpton opened up the show saying the recorded evidence, which makes one think Christie is on tape saying something good, right, wrong, it is 911 tapes. The tapes are said to be life threatening, they weren’t, and to-date no one has died because of this thing. The most humorous one was a laid calling back saying; “I called you and no one is here yet” with the 911 operator saying “you just called a couple minutes ago” and not blaming traffic at all. I don’t care where you are even in a hospital it can take longer than 2 minutes to get help. Al Sharpton is still a joke. It gets better, there was another call about a tow truck not getting somewhere fast enough, not unusual. Another was a responder telling the dispatcher that Fort Lee is in grid lock. The most serious call was from a home health aide worker who just found a person unconscious, but breathing, and the dispatcher getting help to them… no evidence the person was delayed in receiving medical attention. Someone fainted, but regained consciousness when the call came in, and it was a precautionary call only and zero evidence any response time was longer than normal.

Tamils for Obama to Kerry: Include Referendum for Independence and Protection for SL Tamils in UNHRC Resolution
New York, New York (PRWEB) February 27, 2014
“We sent a letter to Secretary of State John Kerry concerning the UNHRC resolution the US is expected to introduce in March 2014. We said that the resolution must include two important points,” said the press spokesman for Tamils for Obama.”The first was that there has to be a referendum in northeastern Sri Lanka, similar to the one that took place in South Sudan. The referendum must be about what kind of government the Tamils in the northeast want for themselves.
“The second point is that the GOSL almost always comes down hard on anyone who makes them angry, which usually means the SL Tamils. Something must be done to protect the Tamils from GOSL retribution.”
The letter began by thanking the US for its past support at United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) sessions. “We at Tamils for Obama would like to thank the US State Department for raising and passing two resolutions at the UNHRC in support of justice and historical truth in Sri Lanka,” the letter said, and then introduced ” an expected resolution calling for an international investigation into Sri Lanka’s deeds in the 2009 ethnic civil war.”
The Tamils for Obama letter went on “We urge the US to call for a referendum in the northeast of Sri Lanka similar to the one conducted in South Sudan. We concur with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa that the Sri Lankan Tamils who were driven out of the country by GOSL oppression should be permitted to vote in this referendum.
“The referendum,” the letter said, “must be part of this UNHRC resolution, and must include choice of government. This is every people’s democratic right: to choose their government and the kind of country in which they will live. This is a US principle, going all the way back to the Declaration of Independence, and we want it for the Tamils.”
“This is an important point,” the spokesman said. “We Tamil Americans all believe it strongly, and we think Secretary Kerry must believe it too.”
The letter concluded “The GOSL reacts with cruelty and violence whenever they are opposed, and their cruelty and violence are usually directed at the Tamils. A way to protect the Tamils from GOSL retribution must be found, and must be included in the UNHRC resolution.”
Tamils for Obama is a politically active group of Tamil Americans. They believe that over 70,000 Tamil civilians were massacred during the last weeks of the Sri Lankan ethnic war. They have also watched the behavior of the Sri Lankan Singhalese victors after the war, and strongly conclude that Tamils in Sri Lanka will only be safe when this unfortunate island is divided into two states.

This is America Damn It
Progressive liberalism is full of rhetoric nowadays revolving around how things can’t be done anymore. They are so depressing, telling us how the system is rigged against you and social mobility is impossible. They tell you it’s the Koch brothers fault and we need more social safety nets because the poor are being fleeced by the rich… like the rich are picking our pockets, right. According to progressive liberals the only answer is to destroy the rich and give away all their assets to people like me. You know what? Stop it, this is American Damn it, start acting like Americans.
This country has created more wealth, raised more people out of poverty and stopped more evil than any other country or system of government ever created, period. To be poor in America is a hardship, but in what way? You take subsidized public transportation instead of a car. Maybe you have a PS2 instead of the PS3. If you are a family of 4 you get $650/month in free food, more than I spend on groceries. You have free public education for your kids, power, flat screen TV, cable and the government even gives you cash. Even being poor in America is a blessing, I know its not pleasant and there are hardships, but my word it could be so much worse. Just look at those in poverty in Mexico, Peru, Africa, etc. they struggle to get food and water everyday so stop complaining your SNAP benefit was cut $10/month.
U came from nothing, no college degree, no family connections, no silver spoon in my mouth, a divorced mother, but I made it. I started out cold calling at a stock brokerage firm making $150/week in 1993. By 2003 I was within the top 5% of all income earners in America. I have since lost it due to cancer and disability so I know both sides of the coin. I know how it sucks to be poor now and it breaks my heart I can’t give my kids all they want, but there is food in the fridge, a roof over their head, and clothes on their back. It sucks, but I know how bad it could be and how blessed, that’s right, blessed we are to be poor in America.
You know what? I may be down and out now, but I will be back. I am a survivor and I know it can be done, but if I listen to progressives only I may have committed suicide by now. My Lord, listen to them, the poor are suffering so bad, blah, blah, blah, wrong. The homeless, kids being abused and wives being beaten are suffering the poor are just upset that we can’t go to Disneyland, $100/ticket a day, you believe that? Seriously, the progressive liberals have everyone believing that we need Daddy Uncle Sam to hook us up or we are going to die or whatever. Bull.
Look, I agree that CEO’s and the super rich make too much money, but is that our problem or is it the shareholders problem? Maybe if you all realized that a 25% flat tax on all income is far superior than a graduated progressive tax where 39% is only on the earnings above $300,000, but whatever, you won’t believe me anyhow because you are so stuck on the rate. I urge you to Google it, I mean, did you even know we have a graduated progressive tax to begin with? Probably not, which is the other half of your problem, the know not what they speaketh about.
I have never in my life heard of such defeatist teachings in my life from progressives. Just because times are tough it doesn’t mean we throw away a system that works, very well I might add, for socialism or a socialism lite system which we know doesn’t work. Marxism has been around for 150 years, give or take, and over the last 100 years we have had some very large tests of Marxists beliefs, how many have lasted more than 75 years? None. Even China has switched to a more capitalist system and look how well they are doing now, although the system is still centrally controlled which will destroy itself at some point.
I just don’t get it, really, I am at a loss for words to how as Americans so many of us have just given up. It wasn’t that long ago we had disaster but we picked ourselves up, forgot about Carter and moved on. However, nowadays we look to our sugar daddy, Uncle Sam, to give us some ‘free’ stuff instead of looking for a better way. If you lost your job and have been out of work for 2 years, guess what? It is likely that type of job is gone, move on and stop asking for unemployment insurance. My Lord, an employer would rather see a McDonald’s job on your resume instead of a 2 year gap in your work history. At least that employer knows you are willing to do what it takes to make it.
This insanity has to stop, improvise, adapt and overcome that is the American way. We have to get back to that attitude because we are doomed if we continue this course. Stop pampering your kids, my wife’s father had to work from age 12 on to support his family, that wasn’t that long ago you know. If things are tough, look elsewhere because you can move job industries, I did, you can as well. Stop buying Starbucks coffee, save money again, who cares what your neighbors are buying, they are idiots probably. Whatever it takes, stop believing things are so tough the only thing that can help is more government programs. That is not the answer that is part of the problem.
Pick yourself up, have some pride in whatever you are doing, but I can assure you hard work, dedication and doing the right thing can and will payoff for you and the country. If we all just rolled up our sleeves we can change what is happening. This is America Damn it, start acting like Americans, when things get tough the tough gets going. I know all of this is true, I have done it in the past and I will do it again and if I can do it anyone can.

Rand Paul vs. Bill Clinton: Does Lewinski Matter?
Those over 30 actually remember the 1990’s and while we remember the great economy and how great things were we also remember how the politics were just as toxic, maybe not as much, as they are today. There was no great armistice between Bill Clinton and, most notably, Newt Gingrich as things got pretty heated back then. However, the young, mostly liberal, crowds either don’t remember that decade or simply don’t know about it.
While there was a willingness to work, Clinton with Newt and vice versa, it was only because Clinton moved to the center-left. Clinton tried for healthcare reform right from the start and failed, he raised taxes, the largest tax hike on seniors in history, and passed the assault weapons ban all of which led to the republican revolution and the republicans contract with America. It is also important to note that during the election when he thought the gay vote was 20% he favored gays in the military, but after he was elected he found out the gay vote was only 10% and switched to “don’t ask, don’t tell”, look it up, Google is free. In short, the Clinton’s are completely political and have one objective, the Clinton’s. Further evidence of Clinton’s move to the center is his welfare reform efforts, pro business and investment tax policy which led to the economic and, in turn, stock market boom which refueled the economic boom… follow that? You see, Clinton listened to the republicans and dropped capital gains taxes, the tax on investment gains held over 1 year, to 20% from 28%. When you drop capital gains taxes people will invest in equities, the stack market, and the wealthy will invest in start-up companies as the gains are taxed at 20% instead of the higher earned income tax rates. That is smart tax policy and it worked, but mix in a revolution, in this case the internet, and you have a recipe for something special which is exactly what happened. However, good things get overdone and out of control leading to what we now call “bubbles” and the internet bubble popped as we know.
You cannot credit Clinton alone with the booming economy of the 1990’s and ignore the fact that republicans had congress wrapped up. It’s incredulous that anyone can credit the president with only all the good, none of the bad, but ignore the party or dismiss the party that controls congress, that is what liberals do. When congress and the president work together great things can happen, but Clinton got lucky with the internet boom and he knows politics, something Obama knows nothing about. Contrary to liberals belief there is simply no chance Obama will move to the center and he just doesn’t compromise.
Think about it, all the compromises have been republican… defund Obamacare, nope, Obama won and republicans conceded. Lift the debt ceiling, no compromise for Obama, but republicans gave in on higher taxes. I can go on and on. Just because Obama isn’t liberal enough for you liberals doesn’t mean he is not too liberal for conservatives and he is certainly not a centrist, not at all.
Anyhow, as we reminisce about the Clinton era we also forget all the scandals they were involved with and, frankly, there are a lot of questions unresolved. Like how Hillary knew to invest 3 times the Clinton’s net worth in 1979 in beef futures only to make a killing, her first and only trade. White Water and a bunch of other stuff have open questions that will never be answered because people don’t want to know. The one scandal we should be talking about, however, is the Monica Lewinsky affair.
Why? Simple, Clinton lied under oath about it which, to me and the law, is a crime. He had an affair with a young intern in the oval office, while he was working. He often had her do “her thing” while he was on the phone with senators, when Arafat was waiting for him in the Rose Garden and she was a young intern. I don’t care about the affair, we knew what Clinton was with Flowers and others who outed him during the campaign, it is the lying and the complete lapse of judgment he showed.
The lapse of judgment is just so large it cannot be ignored, but Americans do ignore it, why. My theory is that the economy was so good we don’t want to tarnish the memory with salacious details. We also view this as a sexual affair instead of what it really was, an out of control ego maniac who thought, and did, he could get away with anything. If your daughter was Lewinsky would you give the president a pass on this? Certainly Lewinsky had a role in it, but he was the president of the United States, the man with the nukes, the guy who was trying to broker world peace… shouldn’t he be held to a higher standard?
On top of it, not only was his judgment terrible with the affair, he lied about it under oath. It is hard enough to get politicians to tell the truth about anything at all, but I would like to think under oath they would feel compelled to tell the truth. Instead, we get a lesson on what the definition of ‘is’ is, seriously? Not that I am surprised, liberals play that stuff all the time like showing a picture of KKK members burning a cross and in their uniform with a caption of you ‘might’ be a racist… it says MIGHT be a racist, not you are a racist, like there is a difference… I really had this debate with a guy and I still shake my head over it.
So, Rand Paul comes along and brings up Lewinsky again, 17 years later, and people are questioning whether or not that is fair game or not. Of course it is! Look, the comment came out because Hillary Clinton is probably going to run in 2016 which puts Bill back in as First Husband, I guess. In addition, she was up to her eyes in the cover-up of Lewinsky, vast rightwing conspiracy anyone, and lied about knowledge of the affair as well, we all know she knew about it, a wife knows her husband. She also decided to stay with him because it was politically smart for her to do so, is there even love there? I don’t know, only they do, but there is no question they are a political powerhouse together. Hillary is portrayed as a victim, which drives my wife crazy, even though she was an active participant in coving it up. She stayed even though she was more than capable of leaving him and making her own way in life. She chose to stay with him which doesn’t make her a victim at all, it was her choice to stay. I don’t get how she gets the sympathy vote because she decided to stay with her husband who cheated, repeatedly, on her. She knows about it but stays and that makes people vote for her? It’s mind blowing.
She isn’t a victim at all, she is a political animal doing what is best for her and it has worked. She made out very well, Senator of NY, 2008 presidential candidate, and becoming the secretary of state while writing books, giving speeches and making tens of millions of dollars at it. She is cunning and so is Bill and the last thing we need is another Clinton in the Whitehouse. If she actually gets elected, which she won’t, it will be a sad day for America. Enough with political dynasties they suck and damage our credibility… we actually wonder why other countries laugh at us, well, look at who we elect.
Rand Paul was right to bring up Lewinsky as it exposes the complete lapse of judgment the Clintons have shown in the past. I don’t want the salacious details repeated again instead talk about how it was embarrassing and how the president needs to be using the head on his shoulder, or her shoulders, instead of the other head to think with. Judgment and actions matter. The Clinton’s lack judgment and their actions are beyond comprehension. Bring it all back up again, I say, because that is the only record we really had and maybe, just maybe, people will realize it was the compromises between the parties that led to the booming 1990’s and not one man.
Just wrong...
