I think the way they have gone about it is what is making people angry, they reassured everyone even up until and the day after Oscar signed that Daniel would stay, but then turn around and take it away anyway. I think 99% of Dan fans are happy he is most likely leaving mclaren. The death threats are awful obviously, that goes without saying really. I hope this makes sense though, just wanted to tell my side as a Daniel fan. Sad times unfortunately 😔

I understand what you feel and I’m sorry what you’re going through right. But literally the same happened with Seb in 2020 when Ferrari signed Carlos even before the season actually started and I’ve not seen people blaming Carlos for taking a seat that a top team offered him. Daniel fans blaming it on Oscar feels just wrong to me! He did nothing but accepted an offer when it already seemed he had no place at Alpine. Blame Alpine or Mclaren as you wish but the not the driver. Death threats will be never accepted on my end.

Indeed sad times but him losing a seat doesn’t mean he has to retire tho. Alpine might sign him again! Try and focus on the positives! 😘

Anon, Dan had until september to confirm officially to the team if he wants to stay. If he was so sure about staying like he posted about it (which at this point i'm pretty sure was only for the media to shut up and nothing else) why did he not tell the team and activate the clause in his contract that means he's staying? A team won't just wait around till there's no one to sign when their driver staying isn't signed upon. They can't just stay with an empty seat they will look around, just like Dan looked around at several teams as soon as Alonso signed with AM, this has been reported upon just as much as Oscar signing with someone else and McLaren talking to/signing him.

Why are we only mad at a team that might have handled a situation in a messy way when the driver is doing the same and putting them in uncertainity even tho he voiced his 100% loyalty? It's a mess that we will never know until things are signed and we truly get to see contracts. That's why tjis is behind the doors business and not just out in the public business. Everyone's just rumouring atiff until you get the things that were truly behind a situation.
