Can I have the url to your new blog please?
I won't be sending it to anons sorry
I don't use this blog anymore - but I have another if people want to message me for the URL.
I graduated with a first class degree in psychology yesterday, and I start a research masters degree in psychology later this year. Now i’m off to London to celebrate.
:D
Hope. It’s like a drop of honey, a field of tulips blooming in the springtime. It’s a fresh rain, a whispered promise, a cloudless sky, the perfect punctuation mark at the end of a sentence. And it’s the only thing in the world keeping me afloat.

tw rape
yes, it is important to be critical about physiologically conditioning a neurological and chemical pleasure response to images/videos of simulated rape.
it would be ideal to live in a world where consent meant it was okay to not consider overarching power dynamics. consenting to hearing rape jokes doesn’t make rape jokes free from criticism. consenting to someone enacting their rape play fantasies on you doesn’t make rape play free from criticism. our sexual practices don’t exist in a vacuum and power dynamics are susceptible to being present any kind of connection/relationship, because regardless of how well-informed we claim to be, we’re not living in a post-sexual violence culture.
I don’t think i’ve ever been so happy with my life as I am right now.
my attempts at winking make me look like piper. emily’s winking is as smooth as ruby rose’s.
Just gonna throw this out there:
someone being “productive” in their life does not mean their mental health issues have got better/gone away
someone being “productive” in their life does not mean their mental health issues have got better/gone away
someone being “productive” in their life does not mean their mental health issues have got better/gone away
Jesus since when did this get so many notes??
Guess who has successfully managed to produce new psychology research with significant data and has made a new measurement of sexual violence attitudes in a way that addresses the violence inflicted on LGB+ people?
Yaaayyyyyy.
Happy International Women's Day!
The past 7 months have brought me a wealth of experience and opportunity and community involvement, of which i'm still realising the positive effects of. The organisation I set up would not have been possible without the involvement of incredible women in my city, my research would not have been possible without the involvement of passionate women across and outside of the country, my dissertation would not be possible without the supervision of a supportive woman who offered me networking opportunities with Icelandic feminists and national UK psychologists who specialise in consent/lgbt research. My recovery and personal growth would not be possible without the gentle encouragement of my mother and the women friends I hold so close to my heart and my incredible girlfriend. The framework of my life is so nurtured by women of all kinds.
Whatever we wear Wherever we go Yes means yes No means NO
We well and truly reclaimed the night. Hundreds of took to the streets tonight to let the world know that the night is ours, these streets belong us and sexual violence against women is never acceptable or excusable.
I can't believe how many notes our little fem society banner from two years ago has got!
swoon
Awkwardly realising that people have a more humane/less victim blaming response to dogs being stolen than women being sexually attacked.
Dog gets stolen outside a shop: "omg! let's find the person who did it! what sort of sick person steals a dog! the poor owner! the poor dog! cmon local community lets warn people of this dog thief!" *no blame placed on the owner of the dog (rightfully so).*
Woman gets attacked sexually by man: "what was she wearing tho? was she drunk tho? but didnt she sleep with someone one time? she probs lead him on tho? she just had sex and regretted it tho? but if he was drunk hes not responsible for his actions? lets not charge him it might ruin his career and future? what was she doing out in the dark tho?
Consent Research - Seeking all genders
Hey! One of us is currently doing their dissertation around the topics of consent and sexual assault and would be very grateful if you could all answer this survey! It includes sexual assault enacted on men and on women so this will be of interest to men, women and people who identify as trans*.
It only takes roughly 15 minutes to fill out. Your answers are entirely anonymous and we would really appreciate if you could send this on/reblog it to as many people as you like. Anyone can answer this questionnaire provided they are over 18. there’s a space to discuss what you think is right or wrong about consent too. Thank you :) The link to the survey is available here: https://mmupsych.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_20noRpU7thrLelv
