yellowjackets as (sapphic tension) textposts part 5/?
yellowjackets really be like. these are our lovable protagonists. one of them goes out at night to eat dirt and haunt her son. one of them just drugged and kidnapped a woman. one is a walking doomed girl trope. this one can see the future and probably just sold her soul to the devil. oh and that's travis

nothing radiates more VFD energy than this picture of Tippi Hedren having her cigarette lit by a crow on the set of The Birds

it’s not necessarily canon to the show (though i believe some comics play with it) but i love the idea that part of the reason greg acts the way he does in over the garden wall is that he literally doesn’t percieve the unknown the same way wirt does. for him, the unknown is a lot brighter and less threatening - we’re seeing it through wirt’s eyes, apart from the one episode where we primarily stay with greg
COWBOY COOKIES:
*******
Loaded cookie~ Oatmeal chocolate chip and butterscotch chip cookies!
1 cup crisco shortening
1 cup gran. (white) sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 ½ tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 ½ cups of flour
****Mix above ingredients before adding following.****
3 cups of oatmeal ½ to ¾ pkg. Chocolate Chips ½ to ¾ pkg. Butterscotch Chips
MIX everything together as you go down the list. Ex: Mix shortening and sugar together, add salt and baking soda, then mix after adding eggs and vanilla, mix while adding flour, etc. This batter will get really thick so, mixing often and in between adding ingredients helps. You get a small work out when you make these cookies.
******
COOKIE BALL TO PAN: Place cookie balls (about a tablespoon or a little less of dough) on well greased cookie sheet ~Highly recommend using baking paper, but pam will work as long as you make sure to mold the ball with few to no chips coming in contact with the pan.
*This process may take a little longer than it would when placing dough on the pan for other cookie recipes. I get really picky in making sure the chips are evenly distributed and that each cookie has a crap ton of chips (before managing the cookie ball becomes impossible and it’s falling apart). This way, each cookie will be super loaded and you should only have a few chips left over in the bowl/little leftover dough).
*See photos 3rd and 4th from the top to get an idea, etc. Pack cookie balls with as many chips as possible, including enough batter to hold everything together.
*******
BAKE in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool/firm for about 6 minutes before removing from sheet. Because the cookies are so full of chips and such, remove carefully from sheet or the cookies will fall apart. Same goes for if you remove them from the pan too soon. Cookies continue to bake/set as they cool. Makes about 3 dozen.

ENJOY!!!! <3 Happy Holidays!!!! These are Hubby’s favorite recipe of mine (*not really mine. My mom got the recipe from a client, and I just adjusted to use a little less oatmeal, and less chips), and whenever I share these with the current cast I’m working with, someone always asks me for the recipe. One person even referred to them as Sex Cookies. We were having a potluck and he yelled to everyone in the room…
“WHO MADE THESE COOKIES!!!???!??”
I told him I did.
“These right here…..These are SEX COOKIES!”
He liked them that much, lol. Thought I’d finally share the recipe via social media, and for the Holiday Season.
*This recipe should be easy to “fix” or make variations on. I’ve been wanting to experiment with adding almond flavoring for awhile, You can skip one of the chips, add a pinch extra salt, whatever you like! I’m not a real cook/baker, I just know a few good recipes. If you are a true foody, I’m excited for how you may improve on the recipe.
*Original recipe calls for a full 11oz bag of Butterscotch chips and a full 12oz bag of Chocolate Chip Morsals, but I can’t with those…The more chips you can manage in the batter ~each cookie should be loaded with chips~ makes for better cookies, but the batter is already going to be super thick.
*Enjoy! :)
TV!Lyra: According to the alethiometer Will's a murderer, but don't worry, it specified that he's "the good kind".
Book!Lyra: The alethiometer told me nothing about Will except that he killed a guy. I'm relieved, I thought he was a weakling.

i don’t fear the devil, hannah
fear street really just stood up and said privileged people are protected from violence by the fact of their privilege and that protection is built on the bodies of the oppressed who are themselves prevented from escaping that oppression and that violence not so much by the actions of individuals as by the workings of systems constructed long before they were born
