#artists on tumblr #illustrators on tumblr #digital art #digital illustration #sasha's art #a few months ago i got asked to make a few illustrations for a poetry book that got published in my home county #the book dealt a lot with the imagery of home and nostalgia and homesickness and moving away #which are all themes i know so so well lmao #i never thought i would miss my home town but ever since i moved to a different country i get homesick so often #it is mostly about missing my family but it all of course also gets projected onto my home town #which is a place i know i wouldn't survive cos i don't Fit In like that and i spent many years there being so incredibly Lonely it almost-#-killed me #but nostalgia is a powerful drug i guess #i often think of all those places i spent so much of my time growing up #different kids walking those roads #different kids having different memories of it #something about it makes my heart ache profoundly #i hope they have a better life there than i did #i will always love my home town so so dearly #but in the end i am glad to be where i am now surrounded by friends and feeling safe <3

#digital art #artists on tumblr #illustrators on tumblr #original illustration #original art #sasha's art #i am very proud of this one #i have been having so many issues drawing since i moved #adjusting has been difficult and my self worth Plummeted horribly #so i have been having difficulties with staying creative and finding Value in my hobbies and such #so a while ago i decided to just go back to the basics and focus on highly technical drawings #that's how this one started too- it was a practice art based on a photo of our sink i took #and then i fell in love with it and worked on it until i perfected every aspect of it and i played around with colours until i achieved a-#-Mood i was finally satisfied with #sometimes being technical and going back to the basics can lead to something Bigger i guess!!#i love this series so much #i love falling in love with my art all over again #there is one (1) thing i have ever been good at and i am glad at least it shows

Haunted // Love Affair With A House 🏡💌

#digital art #artists on tumblr #illustrators on tumblr #original character #original illustration #sasha's art #this one took much longer than i expected it to because well. thats how things go sometimes #there was a time in my life when i was going through years of abuse and felt like i had no way out of that #this led me to become uncaring and reckless and i was very impulsive at the time #there was this big old abandoned hospital in my home town that was not that far from my parents house #by this point in life i felt like i had lost all relationships with people previously close to me and i was not making any new ones out of-#-fear but also because i was isolationg myself (unknowingly)#because i was a child i percieved exploring this building as doing something Unsafe and Dangerous (and i guess it was in the sense that-#-things could fall on me if i wasn't careful)#but anyway i decided going there was going to be my Safe Place #as abandon buildings seem to be so seductive to teenagers it turned out this place was already a popular hang out spot for many teens #so i decided my best course of action would be to sneak out of my room at night/ dawn and go do art at this place when it was safe from-#-other teens lmao #it made me feel Edgy and Cool and Dangerous (even though looking back this was one of the safest activities i was engaging in lmao)#anyways #i replaced all my close human relationships with an abandoned house at the time (maybe theres a metaphor in there somewhere but. i do not-#(-want to see it)#at the time the thing i wanted the most in the world was to die and this was the place it was supposed to happen #luckily i made a deal with myself for ten more years and this ended up saving my life #so i have many mixed emotions about this place. it was there for me when i was at my lowest and loneliest. it was supposed to be my last #a few years ago i took my two best friends there (hadn't told them this story then yet) and i had a wonderful day and felt Loved #it was a weird feeling to feel there #i decided not to take them into the house and i don't think i will ever go in again #but i am glad i had it back when i needed it i guess #i wonder if theres still any of my old art supplies hidden about somewhere

june/ july / august 💌🥪🦢

#digital art #artists on tumblr #illustrators on tumblr #original illustration #original art #sasha's art #work and classes start next week for me and also for all of my friends #and probably the whole city as well #so i wanted to do something to say goodbye to this summer #there was so much stress we went through with me moving to a new country and figuring out health care and banks and all of that fun stuff #and a lot of going back and forth between vienna and my home town #and also two (2) of my friends moved apartments and everyone went on vacation at different times #BUT #throught it all we still managed to see each other a lot and i feel like we made the most of it #i had fun and i really appreciated it all #so i wanted to capture all of these small moments #the swims in the danube and the picknics and the swans with their chattering #this was my first summer i got to spend while living in this city i've dreamed about my whole life #and i got to spend it with the love of my life and a beautiful group of friends #here's to many more!!#i hope you all also had a nice summer and i hope your return to work/ school/ whatever is comfortable and easy !#i have many ideas for art currently which always happens when i am about to have yero free time lmao #we'll see how much time i manage to make for it and when i can post my next big Piece #but hopefully soon!! my resolve is Big and my passion is all encompasing !!!!

#crochet #artists on tumblr #original art #artwork #fabric art #sasha's art #i know most people don't follow me for crochet and you guys want Drawings #and i will post that soon again!! i have pieces in the works and many ideas i am Excited about!! but until then. i really wanted to share t #this #this is my crochet masterpiece #this was the first time i made my own pattern #i have this stuffed animal that i have had for over 20 years now #his name is tigi #he's been with me through everything #and now that i moved to a different country and finally got a lot of the things i've always wanted #i've been Reflecting a lot on the things from my childhood and just Life and theres been a lot of crying and Appreciation and generally jus #the whole Range of every possible emotion #and i wanted to put some of this energy into Art obviously #and decided to try and recreate my favourite childhood stuffed toy in crochet #i've wanted to try to attempt that since i learned how to crochet (last year) but now i felt i finally Understood how it works so i felt #competent enough to try and do it #and i love how it worked out!!#i also got the opportunity to go to the town that was like my second home when i was a child and my Refuge when i was a teenager #and i got to take these photos there #which was also an emotional process for me #in general i just had a lot of fun making this piece and i love it so so much #i hope you guys enjoy it too!!
