my name is daisy and i'm a teen author👍

i love dystopian books but i'm also down for a good manic pixie dream girl/boy story!

i love writing and i've been writing since i was like five. my main project is a dystopian/sci fi novel and i've been working on it since summer 2022! i might post some quotes and excerpts on here!

i also write short stories and a bit of fan fiction (though the only current fanfic i'm working on is a joke one lol). i've actually submitted to an online literary magazine and i've actually been selected to be in their winter issue!

my character is currently being held with the antagonist's hand over her mouth and her mind is racing trying to figure out what to do before realizing the solution is "right under her nose" and she bites him.

(Some of) My Characters as Taylor Swift Albums

I didn't include two of the main(ish) characters because one of them is the villain and I don't like him, and the other one has (to put it respectfully) a very short life.

Elisabeth -- evermore

I associate Elisabeth with evermore because a lot of the evermore songs are about love and loss. That is what her story is driven by. In the beginning, it's the love and need to protect her brother that pushes her through the story. In the end, the loss she experienced makes her wonder if what she did was even worth it.

Vesta -- folklore

Vesta is folklore because folklore has a lot of emotionally vulnerable songs. Vesta, while not outwardly emotional, carries a lot of emotional baggage. She tries hard, but it never seems to be enough, which ultimately leads to the end of her story.

Christabel -- Lover

Christabel is so Lover because first of all: the vibes. Secondly, Lover is a really happy album so most people gloss over the songs that talk about real issues or intense feelings. Christabel's character might be easy to look over at first but she has real issues and feelings.

Again: the vibes. The cover and style of the songs on reputation seem really tough but when you listen to the album, you see that it's almost all love songs. Astra may have a hard exterior, but she feels a lot and has a lot of love to give. It may just be a little harder for her to show it.

"But the dogs can see your kid. You're giving the dogs what they want. Now they'll stay around your house for longer."

"The dogs aren't all bad. When they stay surrounding my house, they scare off any thieves or burglars. They protect my house, yard, and possessions."

"But who protects your kid?"

"Yes, there are dogs everywhere, but here you have the ability to keep them away from the dogs. You should take them inside."

"Well, I installed a fence so they can't get in and I gave them earbuds so they can't hear the growling."

"Just because they can't hear the growling doesn't mean it's not there."

"They're perfectly protected from the dogs."

"Installing a fence won't do much. I've seen dogs jump over the fence. They're on the edge of your yard, it wouldn't take much effort for them to jump."

"If dogs jump over the fence, why aren't they doing it right now? They're just watching them, they're not doing any harm."

"But they're growling and barking, can't you hear them?"

"Of course I can hear them, but it's just some barking. They aren't doing anything."

"Just because they aren't doing anything doesn't mean they won't."

Date Idea

date idea- you listen to me as i explain every single detail of my book to you and then force you to read it and explain every obscure reference and detail i included and give you the rundown on all the changes i made since i first started writing and then show you all the images and photos on my pinterest board and explain in scary detail how i imagine every single character and setting then go through chapter by chapter and make sure you understand every hidden meaning in everything i've ever written

bonus - you listen to all four playlists i made, one for each main character that adds up to about 20 hrs and 15 minutes and then listen to me as i explain in detail the way each line of every single song relates in a special way to each one of the characters even if the detail isn't in the book and it's just in my head.

it's just so therapeutic .

i met this guy who was just the worst. the epitome of entitled rich kid. everyday was a BATTLE with this guy. like not everything i say needs to be argued. when i say "it should be the governments responsibility to make sure everyone has food and clean water," during a conversation about reservations that only have BROWN WATER, you don't need to reply with "i think the government shouldn't focus on things that will only benefit a small group." and then go into why you think people shouldn't be provided with clean water. EXCUSE ME? TRUE STORY BTW.

so i just put all that shit into a character and let out my frustration there.

because you know what? you may think you're better than me right now because you told me you think buying from goodwill is "low class" when it's known that i have to buy from goodwill; but one day it's the character based on YOU that everyone will be hating.

i would just like to remind everyone that your life is your movie so whatever you say goes. if you want something, you'll get it because you're the producer, director, star, and screenwriter of your own movie.
