It was a wonder Scar hadnât pinched herself yet to make sure she wasnât dreaming the entire situation. But even Scarlettâs brain wasnât this imaginative. A drunk marriage in Vegas to a beautiful woman who had agreed to keep her company at a wedding she didnât know anyone at? It had to be reality, just because it was too unthinkable to be anything else. âGo back to where we last remember leaving off?â She thought aloud, wondering how good an idea that would be. Looked what happened to them the last time they were left to their own devices. âMaybe have a video camera with us recording the entire thing this time. It could be the wedding video!â Scarlett smirked, longing to know what had happened the previous night, how they had gotten themselves into the mess they had. A lot of things were uncertain, but the main question that plagued Scarâs mind was if she would change the events of the evening if possible. Honestly? She doubted it. She was having way too much fun by Daisyâs side.
Taking a long sip of her champagne, Scarlett made an effort not to drain the flute in one go. No, tonight she would take it slow, just so she didnât end up making out with her wife again. Not that she was against that, but she didnât think it was appropriate. Daisy had done Scar the favour by accompanying her tonight, but that didnât mean she wanted anything more. She was flirting, sure, but obviously she was just playing her part. Daisy was an actress, after all. It wouldnât take much acting for her to convince everyone, even Scarlett who knew the truth. âIâll drink to that. Cheers!â She grinned, holding her glass up to clink against Daisyâs. âAnd cheers to us, too. Partners in crime. Wives.â The smile on Scarlettâs face from practically from ear to ear, but it wasnât long before it began to shrink again. Not when the doors opened for the grand entrance of the bride and groom.Â
Daisyâs eyebrow quirked at the suggestion, a smirk on her lips. Her drunken self had definitely chosen a great woman to take as her wife. âIâm sure everyone would love to see that.â She joked back, biting her lip. It may have been one of the stupidest mistakes she had ever made, but getting married in Vegas also seemed to be working out pretty well. Okay, it was the weirdest thing she had ever done, and will ever do, but she couldnât bring herself to regret it. Even if Scarlett didnât agree to the terms of the contract, she would make sure to keep in contact with her, she thought the woman would be a great addition to her life. She was fun, and Daisy always needed more fun in her life.
Feeling her heart skip slightly at the word wives, Daisy tried to ignore it with another sip of her drink. Before she could say anything more, she heard the doors open. As if a protective instinct, she wrapped an arm around Scarlettâs waist, squeezing at her hip reassuringly. As the bride and groom walked in, she leaned in closer, whispering so that only her wife could hear. âI may be a little biased, but you are so much more beautiful than her.â She wasnât even hiding her attraction anymore, and she couldnât even blame the few sips of alcohol on it. âHe definitely downgraded.â Her eyes were no longer on the couple, but instead trained on the woman beside her, as if she couldnât take her gaze off her. Which, she supposed, was pretty accurate. Â
