Aa'ishah رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْها narrated:

“The Messenger of Allāh صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ would fast until we thought that he would never break his fast, and he would refrain from fasting until we thought that he would never fast. I never saw the Messenger of Allāh صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ fast an entire month other than [the Blessed month of] Ramadān, and the month in which I saw him fast the most was Sha’bān. He would fast all of Sha’bān or all of it other than a few days.”
