I have this headcanon about Eugene's suppressed longing for a ball, like...

He really wanted to go to the ball in the first season but couldn't... Then in the season 2 he missed it again because he was busy tracking Isaac's appearance.... But I'm sure he still wanted to go so badly-

Plus, no one ever asked him or agreed to go with him-

And then here comes Pugsley... asking him... to dance... (Even if it's in a cemetery)
