With a soft hum, Vic lifted an arm and wrapped it around Dalton, pulling him gently against his side. “You feeling alright?” he asked him.

He nodded. “Yeah...I just want to cuddle.” he said softly before smiling a little. He moved to wrap his arms around the other.

The room they found themselves in was lined with hooks laden with various sorts of coats and jackets.The room itself was pretty ordinary; it was long, wooden, and had a small window opposite of the SIDRAT. There was a break in the rack of hooks that harbored the door. It was the only door in the entire room.

The Doctor took notice of the slight scent of pine. “Must be a Earth export,” he observed aloud.

Dalton looked over all the coats and jackets. There were some nice ones in here. He titled his head slightly. “Export?” he asked. He thought this was a cafe. He supposed he had a lot to learn though.

New Year’s Eve.

Where I’m once again reminded that I have no real friends in this town and I’m not wanted. Sure, there’s the friends who live in other states, other countries. But none of my so-called friends here in town actually want me around. I’m a waste of space to them. An after thought.

I don’t belong anywhere. I don’t fit in. People talk to me around this place out of pity. I’m sure of it.

Another New Year’s Eve where plans fall apart and I’m lucky enough, I guess, to have last minute invites to family shit…

Dalton stared blinking at the other. “It’s…purple? Purple cocoa?” he asked with a wrinkle of his nose. “So is it harmless or not?” He questioned what he meant by ‘mostly’ harmless. “But…okay.” He gave a small smile, he did want to try this purple hot cocoa.

“Purple. Like a plum,” the Doctor nodded. He walked over to the SIDRAT’s doors and opened them. “Its harmless to most bipedal races. Just don’t give it to a Judoon. Its a bit of an allergy.” He motioned for the other to follow. “Quick as you like. Watch your head on the way out, I maaay have landed us in the cafe coat room.”

"Oh..." he said before smiling slightly. "Okay!" After that he didn't think he had to worry about anything. He stepped out of the SIDRAT with a bright smile on his face and looked back at the Doctor waiting on him. It was a bit weird to be in the coat room, but he didn't care.

You know how people talk about calming anxiety by practicing breathing patterns and whatnot, and there’s like fifty-billion gifs and videos about breathe in this much and breathe out that much and suddenly your anxiety will calm down if you do this four times in a row?

When I actually start to focus on my breathing and try to match those gifs and videos and whatnot, I get MORE anxious and it triggers panic attacks faster.

Is this a thing for anyone else, or is it just me?

He hadn’t been home in hours, which was probably what had prompted the TARDIS to coax Dalton out to look for him. Vic was never this distant, and never this slow. It was supposed to be a trip to market to pick up some things. Now, it was getting worrisome.

When Dalton did find him, Vic was no where near the market, but rather in a small, seeming residential street some distance away. He was seated, leaning back against a wall, eyes closed and breath coming in stilted hisses.

It was the blood that would lead Dalton to him. Blood that dripped and dragged right up until it met his frame, sitting awkwardly and only partially hidden away. His trouser leg was torn, bloody, more so than the rest of him. He had torn off his suit jacket and ripped the fabric to tie it around his wounded leg.

There was no Vortex left in him right now. No energy. No swirling time. He had used up his stores, leaving himself vulnerable. His eyes, when he fluttered them open, were their old brown, tired and sad. He looked up at Dalton with those sad eyes and gave him a weak smile. “Told you to stay home,” he teased, though his expression read as grateful.

"You...used it all." he asked slowly with a tilt of his head. He frowned a bit. "I see..." Even if he did fully understand he understood enough. He moved to help him up. "We'll come on let's get you back and clean that up." Dalton said offering a small smile.
