There’s a thing about distance. Some say it makes the heart grow fonder and some say it ruins everything. Both, in a way, are right. When there’s distance between you and a loved one, it can make your heart remember how lucky you are every time you’re with them. The distance, it makes you remember and cherish all the times you had. Every kiss. Every hug. Every laugh and every smile. The distance lets you plan and set a goal of reuniting and sharing that oh so perfect hug that comes with every time you see them. It allows you to make up a million different situations and possibilities for when you get to see them again. When you get to see that smile that lights up the entire world. When you get to look into those eyes that absolutely mesmerize you and throw you for a loop because they are just so beautiful. God, are their eyes and smile beautiful. And their voice when they say your name, it’s the most beautiful poetry that has ever been uttered towards you. Because after all, they are your person and they’re pretty damn near perfect. Best of all, they’re there. However, there’s also sometimes an ugly side to distance. The side that rips at the heartstrings when you hear them on the phone laughing with their friends and longing to be there. There’s the pain that comes with the loneliness of it being 2 am on a sleepless night and you can’t just curl into their side. There'a the longing to be in their embrace when your entire world is falling around you and they can’t be there. There’s the nights when there are fights and you’ve both yelled to the point where you can barely talk because your voice is so hoarse. Those nights might be the one where the doubt comes. Because after all, something like this, how could it be worth it if it hurts so much? That, my friend, is the real question. The truth is, distance is worth it when you have someone you would willingly walk around the world for.
