So you found me, my name's Dama♥︎. I'm 25+. I write, sometimes, I also create moodboards, sometimes. Rn I mostly write for Romance Club specifically HS: Requiem and Waterlily. Oh yeah MDNI this is an 18+ blog.
Im not sure if anyone brings this up but i would like to speak abt the use of nudity as one of the themes for cainlane. Short post. This is not a deep dive this is more of just a yap. Its a very obvious thing to notoce but i just want to talk about it.
CW: Mentions of torture.
It obviously to show the purest form of themselves. Cain being birthright angel, proud and seemingly unmatched. Lane being a human, which in HSU something that deems to be weak and plain. Unlike the immortals with wings and perfect features. Cain's nudity is understandable even looking at hs3. He never like hiding his angelic features (as he mention abt his wings in hsr s2), nudity never bothered him (or even partially nude) As for Lane we see her bare during the times of vulenrability. The torture in hsr, completely left to her own devices that also kept her from being unable to protect herself towards Baal. It's really a part of the psychological torture she endured. Since she's got nothing to hide even her mind.
Now as for the dia scenes where they are both naked, aside from the obvious (that some of it are sex scenes) I really like the composition of them all. In s2 where Cain is looming over to her bare body that really is Cain finally claiming her as his. The way his wings cave over Lane, to shield her to anyone or her from leaving his grasp. His wings being making it unfair for those chances for anyone to get her from him. (Since yk that scene is finally them solidifying their relationship by owning one another. Freak4freak fr). Then the one in the church the roles seemingly reversed, Lane's now preventing him from doing anything and she's hungry of him. His wings bound and his arms are bound.
There's another one with Baal's dungeon, in her memory. Cain looms again to her but as her warden of some sort. Drilling into her vulnerable and bleeding state the memories of her past, while Cain remains clean and proud. Evoking power.
Another thing with Lane's is the nudity at the final battle. When Baal tried to break her again but Lane slowly gets clothed and soon uses the spear against him. She progressed in his haze not letting his manipulation get to her and the clothes felt like an armor and the veil like a shield that hides her power from him and the spear in her hand.

AN: I think it would be nice to give them a normal life. I'd like to highlight how Yan seems to be extrovert but he's actually an introvert who pretends to be social.
It’s already nighttime and usually Lane is at home reading a book or watching lame tv shows with Yan.
She didn’t want to admit it, but she’s having fun being outside. Going outside did her good this time.
It’s almost past 10PM but the restaurant where she meets with her work colleagues from Siberia unexpectedly brought this eventful but pleasant evening to her.
Usually she doesn’t like seeing co-workers off work. It’s expected to happen after all since the research base she worked in Siberia also has a branch here in England.
Audrey looks at her with such energy, it almost makes her wilt seeing her like this. But this is Audrey, talking is her style. She’s very good at carrying conversation due to her profession.
“Lane I didn’t expect you’d be here in Oxford.” Still carrying the same delight since 6 PM.
Lane rolled her eyes but her lips were curved upward. “What? Want to test if I am a ghost?” She curls her brow playfully to her colleague.
Anna, who was looking between them, finally spoke. “Did you two have worked together in a research?" Her face lights up, expectant, from the utterance of the last word.
Lane was about to answer “No” but Audrey flawlessly dismissed it with her head. “Not really, we just met at a convention and sat there for 5 hours.”
Lane lets out a silent chuckle, remembering how stiff her body felt sitting for so long.
Anna and Audrey carried along with a topic of research. Lane took an opportunity to look at her boyfriend, who’s been awfully conversational with Anna’s brother. Dmitry. She had long figured out that Dmitry and Yan knew each other. Now Lane wants to get involved in that. She tried to listen but the military jargons mixing up in her head made her head spin. Until Dmitry looks at her intentionally. “So I see why you wanted to quit the military. You finally found a life here.” The words carried weight she didn’t know, but the intent had been brushed off by Yan’s scoff.
He parts his lips. He circles the ice in his drink in the glass. The amber color dilutes.
“Well, kind of.”
With the admittance, Dmitry’s smile widens seemingly figuring everything out.
“I can’t blame you on that.” Dmitry said half-heartedly. Then it’s Yan’s turn to bite back. Lane suddenly remembered their entwined fingers, she looked down. It was woven tightly. She feels flattered and smiles to herself.
“Maybe your father is right, Dmitry. You need to find yourself a woman and settle down. So you can actually relate to us.” He held out his hidden hands and Lane stilled like a deer in headlights.
‘Oooh’
A sound of awe and sarcasm coming from both Anna and Audrey pierces their conversation.
“Don’t expect my brother to snatch up anyone soon considering his relationship right now is his work.” Anna jabs.
“Is that why you extended your stay here, near Oxford?” Audrey who’s in awe converts her expression into a foxy stare.
Lane’s face is heated and she can’t speak. She doesn’t know if she wants to stuff Audrey’s mouth or Yan.
She's a very private person, but not to the extent that there’s no PDA.
A tug from now hidden hands snaps her out. It was Yan’s signal. Yan hid them not long after.
“Well I’ll get more beer.” Anna stood up. “And you guys some too!”
Audrey follows her. “I’ll help you with that.”
Dmitry shook his head knowing the next thing that would happen. “Wait Anna. I’ll carry some of that.” He said hurrying to his sister who shot him an annoyed glare.
Finally alone together.
“So what was that?” She turned her head to Yan, who’s finishing his glass. He seemed to be enjoying himself. His dark eyes gleamed and his muscles relaxed.
The crescent moon of his eyes became whole and looked back at her. Then he finally broke. “Let’s go home now please.” Whispered in desperation as if teetering on the verge of breaking down.
Lane rolled her lips over her teeth and lightly bit them down.
She knew this would happen. Yan appears social when needed, but it does drain him. Lane’s like that. He’s more amicable on occasions but that was a front he can’t stand being out like this for too long, especially with the crowd. The tugging began, as a plea.
Lane sighs and shakes her head, but she isn’t displeased. It was about time afterall.
“Lane another glass?” Audrey called over all the way from the bar and Lane smiled at her and shook her head. “Nah, we’re good!”
Then Lane points to the door as a sign they are leaving. Audrey’s mild disappointment did not leave her sight but Audrey being understanding, she nodded.
A shout of heartfelt “take care” from the three bid them farewell and they finally exited the place.
Back in their shared apartment. Lane can feel the heaviness of her eyes but Yan seemed to be invigorated after getting home.
“I thought you’re tired?” She lifts her head to look at him better.
Yan snickers. “With people, yes.”
Lane’s brow lifted. “Then I guess I should leave to fully energize you.” Her voice is laced with playfulness but she’s retreating to the bedroom.
She can hear Yan scrambling to his feet. It made her scoff.
After a few attempts. He finally seized her by her waist.
“Where are you going?” His breath brushes her ears making her hyper aware where the wind blows.
“Sleep. Good luck energizing.” She tries to remain calm but Yan already saw through that. She’s expecting another gust of wind to tease her but a digging sensation from her earlobe made her eyes wide. “What are you doing?” Panicked, she tried to turn her body to face him but Yan’s much more powerful. “No you’re not sleeping. I didn’t even have much time being alone with you.” His voice is calm but in a sense it’s dangerous. It was devoid of any sarcasm.
That’s when Lane knew this was going to be a long night.
