I have been an Hellsing fan since time immemorial and I rewatched it with some friends a few months or so ago... It's time to make my 12 years old self happy
I am currently rewatching Hellsing and I somehow completely suppressed the information that Alucard knows how to fly a Fighter jet. Like it's such a random detail ToT, like when did he learn that and why was it basically never mentioned again.
Alucard (canonically agender) and Anderson (thematically/implied nonbinary)

I need say nothing more. The agender vampire. That I keep using the term "genderfluid" for. The title "genderfluid, genetically enhanced, glockula" provides me too much amusement to stop.
Meanwhile Anderson...
Has the most closeted nonbinary coming out speech I have ever heard.
I'm not on hormones, but if I ever change my mind I will be saying "If with a pierce of this I can become that, then so be it." *inject* "Amen."
It reminds me of the feelings that come with being nonbinary and admiring/wanting to be agender or genderfluid - believing that if any prononoun can be accepted then things would be easier, and that the feeling of wrongness that comes from merely being percieved will vanish.
Sure-sure, it's about humanity, but those themes already go hand in hand when Alucard's "lack" of humanity is tied to being free from gender restrains.
It's not a hard leap to make.
Anderson also has this intersex daughter who is somehow one of the least traumatized characters in the anime (pre-Event that is...) despite being, y'know, Catholic. Was still put into Iscariot (the organization for the Catholic rejects), but is a respected member of this group, dresses as a priest, takes the title of sister, had top surger(/hj), and NONE of this is ever questioned by anyone.
Which I bring up purely because closeted, nonbinary, Father Anderson being supportive and providing a safe space while remaining in the closet makes my heart cry:
+shout out to Anderson telling Alucard to keep being shameless.
It's not uncommon for amab people to maintain a masculine image, especially if there are people who depend on them or struggle be heard without their aid. And Anderson being the owner of a Catholic orphanage for kids abandoned by their faith, really has far too much responsibility to consider coming out.
Thus, save it for the death speech confession to the agender vampire.
