well, well, well. we’ve made some changes recently at dance of dragons, to ensure new members and applicants are able to get to grips with our current plots much quicker. we’ve been around two years, and don’t seem to be slowing down... because the plot is changing..and pretty fast!

This summer, the Reach will unveil its most ambitious gathering in living memory: The Verdant Concord — a sweeping celebration of progress, knowledge, and quiet revolution. Hosted by King Cedric Tyrell, the Concord is more than a festival. It is a statement. Highgarden will transform into a living gallery of minds and marvels, where invention, art, and philosophy will share the stage with politics, diplomacy, and subtle power.
Set among glass pavilions, perfumed arcades, and silken forums, the event will bring together scholars, inventors, herbalists, poets, architects, and thinkers from every corner of the realm. Visitors will encounter devices powered by wind and water, new methods of healing and harvest, and music and sculpture crafted with breathtaking skill. Open forums will invite debate on everything from governance to theology, the role of women in court, and the balance between crown and faith.
But beneath the beauty lies purpose. Those who wish to renew their alliances with the Reach — or forge them anew — are expected to attend. Absence will speak louder than words. With many great houses sending envoys and heirs, the Verdant Concord is already becoming the season’s most essential stage for quiet negotiations and strategic introductions. More than one guest arrives with ambitions beyond art - many hope to secure favours, marriages, trade, or proximity to the court or with other high ranking members of other courts.
Notably, the High Septon has yet to reply to his invitation. And while swords will not clash, few doubt that something more profound is taking place — a shift not of banners, but of thought. King Cedric’s vision leaves little room for dogma: if truth belongs to reason, then the divine must make space at the table. No tournaments. No bloodshed. Just ideas, and the power they carry.
The Verdant Concord is fast approaching. Whether to celebrate, to network, or to simply be seen — those with something to lose, or something to gain, will be there.

The Verdant Concord—the grand cultural and intellectual gathering hosted by King Cedric Tyrell—is officially launching this Friday, 11th April 2025. The event is open-ended and will run indefinitely, with no set wrap-up at this time. Feel free to pace your plots and threads organically!
Location and Setting:
The main event is set in Highgarden, the heart of the Reach. All festivities, exhibitions, salons, and gatherings will be based there.
However, characters are welcome to explore the broader Reach—whether visiting golden vineyards, country estates, river markets, or lush fields. There’s plenty of room for creativity and exploration.
The only two areas barred to outsiders (unless your character is Reachborn or has explicit permission) are:
The Shield Isles
The Arbor
Timeline:
This event takes place after King Owen Stark’s birthday celebrations, so characters who attended the Northern gathering are more than welcome to travel down and join this event as well.
Highgarden is vast enough to house courtiers from every realm. Whether your character is nobility, a scholar, an artist, or simply along for the ride, they will be offered a place to stay within the castle or its outbuildings.
