“Wow, I have a better eye than i thought. Which size was that? I can never remember what mine is.” She shook her head, impressed. “My first response is huge, but it doesn’t look nearly as awful as I thought it would. It suits you.”

“A five I think? -- Yeah, a five. I’ve got small hands.” She shrugged and chuckled at the other girl’s description of the ring. “It takes a big personality to pull off a ring this big.” She gave a joking wink. “The more subtle looks though, I could never pull those off the way you could. Less is more suits you.”

Ellen’s eye was caught by a subtle silver star, outlined in diamonds. That was fancier than she would normally wear, but she kept it in the back of her mind while she drifted over to the rings. “You have to at least try on that one.” Ellen pointed at a combination of stones that would take up nearly three fingers in width when on.

“Now that is too gorgeous.” Ez made quick work of trying on the ring. “Perfect fit too.” She flashed her hand at Ellen with a bit of a grin. “What do you think?”

“Star it is. I trust your judgment. Are you looking at anything in particular? New ring or anything?” Ellen couldn’t forget that George had asked her to find out Ez’s ring size, but she was trying to be a little subtle about it.

“Nothing particular, but rings are always a good start. If I don’t have on multiple at any given time I feel naked.” This information came with a bit of a chuckle as they moved toward the rings. “Oo they have a nice selection.”

“Oh ha ha, you’re so funny.”  George got out his wand and began to say cleaning spells.  “Watch out for the dust bunnies, last time I cleaned up one of them bit me super bad.”

“That’s why you’re supposed to spray first. They can’t bite if they’re too soaked. Honestly, who ever even let you into Ravenclaw?” She began working her way around the shop, grin ever present on her face; but keeping a keen eye out on George. She never knew when he might decide to pull one over her. Not that she was innocent, she was watching for prime opportunity herself.

Ellen snorted loudly at the piece Ez showed her. “Really? You think I’m the type to go for 6 of the brightest stones strung together to take over my entire neck? Just because I occasionally get into trouble doesn’t mean I need to be the most ostentatious in the room. You could try it on, it looks plenty eclectic.” She looked over some of the other pieces, though nothing jumped out at her. “See the thing is, my old necklace was a crescent moon. I don’t want to go for exactly the same thing, so I was thinking maybe either a sun or a star. I just can’t decide between the two.”

She shrugged of the other girl’s snort not really minding. Ez knew full well that her taste wasn’t exactly for everyone. “Hmm, I would say sun since you’re such a bright person; but I feel like maybe it’s a little more understated than that. A star would suit you well, I think.”

“You pull it off well at the least. The work yourself and the eclectic taste all together.” As they passed the jewelry shop, Ellen grinned and dragged her inside. “Perfect. I’ve been debating what exactly it is I want, so you can help me decide.” As they entered, the shopkeeper gave them a smile starting to drift closer to them.

“No problem. I’m sure we can find something that suits you.” Smiling at the shopkeeper that greeted them, Esmeralda immediately asked whether or not there were any specials on any of the jewelry. Of course he did show them over, but not without hinting that they were free to explore some of the more pricey pieces as well. Secretly she wondered if he was working on commission. “Oh what about this one?” She pointed out a necklace that was rather flashy.

“See, I can’t make anything for myself. People tried to teach me sewing sometimes, but my seams fell apart as soon as i thought I had finished them. It hardly counts as wearable. Oh, and we should stop in the jewelry store. I’ve been thinking about getting a new necklace since I’m not exactly wearing my old one anymore.” Ellen grinned and started walking down the street towards the various shops.

“I use a bit of sewing but also spells and glamours. When you have as eclectic of taste as I do and very little budget to work with well, you either learn how to do it well or look like a hot mess.” She laughed at Ellen and gave a nod before shaking her wrists so that the numerous bangles residing there jangled against one another. “You won’t have to twist my arm, that’s for sure.”

“Oh darling, I know.  I just hate having to take them.”

“Be thankful you aren’t muggle then. The pills they have for the same thing aren’t nearly as effective and have all sorts of annoying side effects.”

"That’s a good point, I realize it was a bit much for a comparison, but my point still stands. Where’d you get a popsicle anyway, I wouldn’t have though they had them in the kitchens."

“That would be because they don’t. I graduated already. Live in Hogsmeade now.”

“Great, I love when my allergies kick up.”

“They do make potions for that, you know.”

“It’s like a breath of fresh air! It’s really invigorating, huh?”

“I’m enjoying it that’s for sure. You like to do anything crazy outdoors when it warms up like this?”

“You’ll have to tell me all about it. It’s been way too long since we last talked. How about some shopping at the same time? I don’t have any good clothes.”

“Im definitely up for that. It will have to be mostly window shopping for me, but it always good to know what’s currently on the shelves when making clothes for yourself.”

“Are you trying to say my store is dirty?”  George said mischievously, snapping the elastic of a glove against his wrist.

“Well you’re in the room aren’t you? That basically means it has to be.” She gave him a teasing wink in response.

“Time for some spring cleaning.  Got to get this place ready for the rush.”

“You’re right, this place could use some sprucing. Just be thankful we don’t have to do this entirely the muggle way.”

“Right? It’s been much too long. Though I have to say you seem especially springy.”

“Just in a good mood I guess. What’s the point in letting things keep me down when so much good is going on, right?”

“Spring is just what I needed to put that kick back in my step.”

If George knew anything about Esmeralda, it was that you never underestimated her.  She had a fire behind her eyes that would have honestly scared him if it hadn’t be directed toward something else completely.  ”I pity the poor bastard that has to deal with you.” George grinned, nuzzling close to her and caressing her arm with his fingers.  ”But lets not be reckless and get hurt, okay?  We can plan something.  We were Ravenclaws after all.”

He yawned and leaned back on the pillows, but he wasn’t really tired.  He had slept enough.  He wanted to get out of the bed and go to action, come up with a way to make the man who did this to him pay, but that was a lot easier said than done.  ”Yeah, the only person allowed to hurt me is you.”  He grinned as largely as he could without hurting himself, and attempted to tickle her side.  He couldn’t really reach, but it was fun to play around anyway.

She couldn't help but smile at him and his antics, giving a shake of her head at the same time. Ez was angry enough to charge in full force; but George served as the voice of reason, and the fact that he still somehow remained so cheerful only served to calm her more. Rattigan would get what was coming to him, but for now George deserved her complete attention.

"How is that even through all of this you still somehow manage to keep a smile on your face?"
