This is not a Movie Health Community evaluation of Under the Lights, but it is a review. At the request of the director, I will post a detailed evaluation of the film closer to its anticipated wide release next year.
Under the Lights is a deeply empathetic and eye-opening film, an intimate look into life with epilepsy. This film is going to be the standard against which other stories depicting epilepsy are measured. Scenes of this film are going to be uncomfortable to watch, but to exclude those moments would be to sanitize the experiences depicted. As the lead character shares insights into concerns with quality of life, the audience will hear some of the most powerful statements in years.
I'd like to thank Miles Levin and the production and marketing staff behind this film for making a screening in St. Petersburg, FL possible.
