"You were getting soaked."
A child? There was a child in front of her, holding out an umbrella like it was the most natural thing in the world.
While the green eyed pixie would come to Orvunos sometimes, because she didn’t mind this island, she wasn’t expecting to see a young girl in front of her, she had half a mind to pick her up, which she does.
Lifting her with ease, she shifts her to one hip while holding the girl while she studies her, she appeared to be human, though she could be fae, and Lara was trying to figure out how old she was. She figured holding her would allow her to not get wet, and they could share the umbrella.
“What is your name? How did you get out here alone? Do you have parents?”
dancingwiththepixies:
“We should, yes. We need to make sure that you have enough to where you can travel in comfort.” Lara winks as she raises her sandwich to her lips and takes a bite of it, chewing and then swallowing before she grins back to the other girl. “It could be fun, to find some cute things for you to wear.”
Thinking again, she smiles wider at the reaction that the younger had to the notion of the salad. It was big,and a very nice size for her, perhaps she wouldn’t be able to eat it all, but at least she had the option. “I find, you see, in a restaurant, that they tend to give you too much food, more than you’d ever be able to eat, or want to.”
“do you mind picking out clothes for me? I’m not really sure what I’ll need…” she was reminded of when some of the women of her village used to dress her up like a doll, but she shook her head. Lara was going to prepare her for the wilderness. Even if they are playing dress-up, she wasn’t going to look like she was breakable by any means.
Pebbles frowned at the notion of getting more food than she’d be able to eat, “but then what do they do with the leftover food? isn’t that wasteful?”
“Of course I can. I do admit that I do tend to stay in the same place, but I do travel a bit. We can make sure that you are prepared for anything that is going to come your way.” Lara nods, going back to munching on her food, she was wracking her brain on what the other would need, but, if anywhere was going to be good to get things, then it was going to be Utopia.
“We can take it with us, and then you can have it later. A lot of people do that, and they call it left overs, which just means that it is something that you can eat later. Would you like to be able to take some home?”
