Despite having been raised almost completly on land and not taking a swim as often as other Mer did, Astrid still loved the sea deeply. Sure, she obviously also loved her job and everything that had to do with it, but sometimes even she needed some time away from all the yarn and fabric, sewing and stitching and what not.
So she walked along the shore away from the small village she lived in, enjoying the calm around her, occasionaly on look out if she could spot Lovise anywhere nearby, but the Dolphin-Mer seemed to be in some other part of Anuipuk right now.
Walking for a few more miles, she could see someone sitting on the shore, staring out at the water and looking a bit lost. So she decided to walk to this person, in case they needed some help with something.

Itâd been a half-drunken idea and he still wasnât sure if it was a good one. He lived in Utopia and had for years, before then it had been Urga. But at the very beginning, the beginning of it all, there had been Anuipuk.
His memories of his home were hazy, his mind had been addled by age and a daily vodka habit, and he could not recognize where he was. He was close to his home, he was so close he could feel it in his bones, but he was not there. He was not there and he could feel the panic setting in.
He slipped out of his seal form and into that of the âhumanâ Ivan, the person who he had become and the person he did not like. Sitting on the shore, he gazed out at the vaguely familiar ocean and thought of nothing.
