Update + Gourdy

Ya my interest in this AU is now nearly non-existant, which I kind of expected to happen, though I was trying to get my Ideas out for Gourdy ealier but never did so might as well put it here.

"Minor" God of Monsters and Mischief His name is Gourdner, named by Garnerous, though prefers Gourdy

A couple years after the Darkness was sealed inside Novaris an object came crashing into the realm. The first to inspect it was Novaris himself, though realizing it might lead to a confrontation with the other Gods, he quickly fled. Garnerous would arrive and eventually find out it was an INFANT God. After a discussion, Dandifer made the call to not attempt to find and return the Infant where it came from, fearing his and Novaris's Past. Garnerous decided to volunteer to raise the infant, though it would prove quite complicated as an infant with the powers of a God can cause a lot of mayhem.

Though eventually Gourdy would grow out of his infant stage, still extremely young for a God. Occasionally Festivia, as her Depressive state started to get better, would play with Gourdy. Though he would find a playmate with a Wizard's young Apprentice.

Gourdy's Powers allows him to control monsters, as long as they aren't as sentient as a Toon. He also can cause illusions which he often uses to prank and scare others with, along with other god abilities. He technically has only one follower, that being the Apprentice he befriended. Facts: - If Gourdy found out about Dandifer's decision it'd make him dislike Dandifer for a long while though he'd get over it - Gods physically age way slower than mortals but they can mature mentally at the same or a faster rate depending on their influences. - Yes, Bayla has beef with a child, because she can't take pranks well. Gourdy thinks they're just having fun when she retaliates with a Prank of her own, though she is also careful not to hurt him.

"Guys there's another one of those bundles of unnatural magic here... there's a... voice echoing from it?"

*Dandifer looks puzzled, before looking directly at the question*

"kitheartist? Thats your name? I guess I could answer your question. But I'm going to need some answers from you... supposing that's how this works"

"It'd have to be those Cultists, they make me so angry, we fought so the world could be free from the DARKNESS, but they want it back! If the Darkness came back it'd just devour them and I can't in good faith let that happen. IT'D WASTE EVERYTHING HE-"

*Dandifer takes a breath*

"They're always up to something, burning villages, sacrificing innocents, and some even tried causing the ROT break out again! What's worse is they do it during the night specifically so I can't see them so I have to rely on my followers to find out what they are up to. Currently from what my followers have told me is that they are trying to stop some sort of prophecy, but Veronica says there is no more prophecies... I'd never doubt my friends.... I hope you got what you wanted"

To Wheister

Exactly what sort of deal did Popigale’s father make with you for you to end up as their butler? What made you accept the deal?

*Wheister first looked around vigilantly looking for where the voice came from, before giving up*

"I have no idea who you are or why I feel compelled to answer… but if I must answer…" *Wheister Groaned* "I hate to admit it… I was outplayed hard. The direct moment before my Glorious Lich days were over, I was confronted by two travelers, William Withers and Eliza... honestly I forgot her maiden name. Unlike the so called heroes of the decade that I slayed before, the male of the two didn't want to slay me he wanted to acquire my power. So he approached me with a deal, if he won I would become his servant and teach him the secrets of necromancy. If I won he would become my servant for all eternity and carve a special sigil into my skull that would prevent it from being shattered. The Deal? If he found his true love within two weeks and get them to agree to marry him. Of course when you're a being as powerful and hated as I was, you don't believe in silly fantasies such as tRuE LoVe. Thinking he was an idiot was a big mistake, we shook on it and he used fey magic to seal the deal. At first I though great he can't back out now.

And guess what that slick son of a snot nosed pig did?! He immediately turned around and proposed to his traveling partner! and of course she said yes. And it turns out their love was true, next thing you know I'm working as their butler for many years, then taking care of their child for 13 years. I'm mostly just thankful he didn't use his power over me to humiliate me further. Though I still did end up getting that sigil carved in my head.".

The Necrotic Manor

*A young maiden is playing a violin as she is slowly stepping in an elegant pattern. As she steps, she twirls. Suddenly, she trips, but is caught by a bony hand that gently puts her back on her feet.*

"I'm done practicing this stupid spell, Wheister, why can't I have my revenge now?" The young maiden whines.

"Miss Popigale, the time for your revenge will come soon enough, but you must be ready. The Toons who killed your parents are pathetic, but even your father, as powerful as he was, fell by their hands." A tall skeleton in a slightly torn and bloodied Butler Uniform with a symbol carved into its skull, presumably Wheister replied.

"So you get to kill the people they send to kill me, and I don't?" *Pointing at the stabbed and bloody uniform*

"Yes... it's as simple as that, until you're older," Wheister would look down at his uniform. "I really liked this uniform."

*Popigale lets out a frustrated Moan and resumes*

Ten Years Later *A Rogue & Ranger running through halls, being chased by a hoard of skeletons and a wizard & knight covered in blood as their eyes glowed red. The Rogue & Ranger spotted a big door and closed it behind them, quickly barricading it.*

"YOU SAID THIS JOB WAS GOING TO BE EASY MILLION! NOW HALF OF OUR PARTY IS DEAD AND CHASING US!" The Ranger yells.

"I WASN'T EXPECTING A WHOLE F-ING ARMY! NOW I JUST WANT TO GO," The Rogue replies before being cut off himself

"A Million?" a woman's voice replied.

*Both the Rogue and Ranger's eyes go wide as their pupils shrink as their attention goes towards a grand staircase*

"They're offering a million for us, Wheister..." *Popigale now slowly descending some stairs as Wheist's Skull sits on her shoulder.

"Excellent..." Wheister replies.

"IMPOSSIBLE! YOU WERE IN THE ROOM WE JUST LEFT!" *The Ranger Exclaims pointing shakily before firing off his cross bow, that missed."

"GO TO HELL YOU NECROMANCER" *The Rogue runs to Popigale, but is caught by a giant skeleton arm from the ceiling and tossed back.*

"Wheister... give our "Guests" a night to remember... for the rest of their short lives."

"With pleasure, my lady," *Another colossal arm tore through the stone floor as Wheister’s skull began to rise, forming a towering skeleton from the shadows. The rogue and ranger stood frozen in their fear.

*Both the Ranger and Rouge are petrified in fear.

*As Popigale leaves the room, she waves as the doors become unbarricaded and the dead flood in and surround the two adventurers from behind. Their screams echo through the halls until only silence is heard.*

*some skeletons are seen digging graves as others finish carving the tombstones. The Rogue and Ranger's bodies are gently put inside as the animated corpses of the wizard and Knight lay down as the glow leaves their eyes and are buried.

From a balcony above, Popigale watched the burial in silence. Wheister approached from behind and knelt before her.

"Miss Popigale, our army has grown in the hundreds. When will you be taking your revenge?"

"I won't," Popigale responds immediately.

“What?” Wheister exclaimed in disbelief. Popigale walked past him and back into the manor.

"Even if we were to wipe that pathetic town from the realm completely, more and stronger adventurers will come. And besides the individuals who slayed my parents, they are long gone now."

"You've spent your whole life waiting for this" Wheister Protests

"Revenge no longer interests me if there is no one left worthy of it," Popigale said quietly. She stopped before a wall lined with pendants and rings that once belonged to fallen adventurers. “I believe we have done enough damage."

"I—I understand Miss Popigale, sorry that I asked," Wheister said with a somberish tone.

"It's alright, Wheister... I didn't believe myself either when I first thought about it, but no matter what I do now, it won't change what happens to me in the end. I will die either by someone else's hands or by time itself."

*Elsewhere, a wanted poster is seen being ripped off as a group looks towards the Manor from a distance.*

Popigale Withers & Wheister Facts

- Popigale is 20, she lost her parents at 7 - Popigale knows how to play the Piano, Organ, Violin, Viola, & Cello - Wheister used to be a powerful lich... until Popigale's father tricked him into a deal, which ended with him become their butler - Wheister's appearance to an actual human skeleton is a coincidence - Popigale's parents weren't the best people, but Popigale doesn't care as they made her happy - Their (Popigale's) current bounty is 1,000,250 Gold (Increases by ~200-300 every party they vanquished) - Popigale doesn't worship any god, but she does respect Shellina's ideals

Toon Races (Unfinished)

Like any good Fantasy world there are many races that inhabit the realm. Most get along, though some don't, but they were all created by the Gods. Below is a list of GENERALIZED Races. (Dandys world character names are for examples of what they'd be)

SweetFolk - Races of beings closely resembling foods (usually sweets). Their bodies regenerate quickly from injuries especially after consuming sugar and pain doesn't hurt that much, however their bodies are also very easily damaged and very edible to everything. Not only that, but plagues such as ROT are very fatal to SweetFolk and those who wield magic have found ways to make their injuries permanent. Their fragility causes most not to travel further than their birth locations or their homes. Examples: Cosmo, Ginger, & Eggson

BeastFolk - Races such as ReinFolk that closely resemble animals, there is no downsides for them eating species that they are similar to (Its like two animals of completely separate genome that happen to share similarities), amongst the most aggressive yet most united groups.

GrownFolk - Races of Living plants, most can just photosynthesize for sustenance Example: Dandy, Bassie, Sprout

GearFolk - Races that have body parts or entire bodies made naturally of metal or mechanical objects, They can live really long time some can be even be brought back from long periods of inactivity with a jumpstart. They can add onto their bodies if they wish. Can resist high levels of heat and getting stabbed isn't really going to do anything. Getting wet can be bad as it causes their bodies to lock up with rust Examples: Boxten, Brightney, & Dyle

CraftFolk - Made of random large scale items of arts and crafts, plush, or just plastic, many are extremely flammable Examples: Scraps, Goob, Bobette & Gigi

PhantomFolk - Essentially living Ghosts. Their bodies aren't very durable however they can possess objects, some may choose to completely bond with their chosen item and become GearFolk or CraftFolk. Unlike real ghosts PhantomFolk have to force themselves to be incorporeal and/or invisible. Examples: Connie & Soulvester

LiquidFolk - Races made of different Liquids, they are different from elementals as they usually don't control more or a liquid than they are made up of. Example: Blot

Humans

They simply don't exist... normally, Humans are mythical beings from another existence entirely. Humans can't exist in the AU longer than at most an hour. Basically Askers who decide to try and manifest themselves.

Monsters

Monster are creatures created in various ways, not directly by the Gods themselves, most common ways are through: Magical Transformations, Extreme stress evolution, formed by wild magic, and magic fueled evolution. Most aren't sentient, and if they are usually pretty dull. Yes Dragons do exist.

Hybrids

Sometimes love blossoms between races, whether that be for or against the offspring's health. Usually the offspring takes traits from each parents' race. If the parents consist of hybrids then usually their offspring take the visible traits of their parents. Examples: Rudie (BeastFolk [ReinFolk] & SweetFolk), Cocao (BeastFolk & SweatFolk), Poppy (LiquidFolk & PhantomFolk), and Shrimpo (BeastFolk & SweetFolk)

Extra Facts - Rudin is an example of a Hybrid between ReinFolk and SweetFolk, most of his body is Reinfolk while his Antlers are sugary like SweetFolk - Gwen was hit with a cursed blast, that stops her from regenerating the rest of her head

StoryTime with Festivia

"Oh its you... no please don't leave I wasn't looking for you, I just usually come to this lake... Don't believe me? I've been visiting this lake for the past 95 years since y-you know... You don't remember? No I won't tell anyone... you wanna hear a story? Its about this lake... Really?!

Well I believe it was about 40 years ago, I spent the many years before that feeling down... I just couldn't do it anymore, everyone asked for too much from me, and I was already struggling I-I lost someone close and everything else that happened those dreadful years... eventually knowing I wouldn't grant them anything... they left... and forgot about me... not that it bothered me, I was far too busy grieving, I started coming to this lake to weep in its silence... One day... I met a little boy, A half-reinfolk half-sweetfolk, playing with his father at this very lake, the father had the face of a grieving man, yet the boy kept smiling, I thought they were oblivious to his father's grief. Just like all my followers were to me, a funeral director started chatting with the father, the little boy spotted me. In a panic I shed my wings the last thing I wanted was someone to ask me for something. The boy came over and asked why I looked so sad, a bit of a surprise as I didn't know I was displaying my grief so clearly, I replied "I'm lost someone" I was expecting the boy to reply with something like "Oh" instead he said "Me too". Apparently that day he just lost his mother to a disease that plagued sweetfolk, yet he truly kept a smile on his face, saying this is what she would've wanted. We kept chatting for a while longer. He had such a positive outlook on everything, yet unlike most children he knew the horrors happening in the world. Eventually he had to go... he asked to see me some other time... I replied with the same time next year. Then next year came... I wasn't expecting him to show up but he did... we chat a little even played a bit, he usually played a noble knight. The years came and went, we had more and more chats, never anything personal, just check ups. Every year he grew bigger, we chatted less and less. One year... he never came... I waited the entire day... I didn't know what to think so I came back the next year... just as I was about to leave, he came... his father had passed that year and he was caught up in all the funeral procedures, knight training and grief... yet there was smiling, despite recalling the events.

That's about it Turns out he knew the day he met me that I was a goddess. Oh where is he now? Well now he dawns a suit of armor, traveling the realm spreading hope. I even gave him my lance, I was never really a fighter anyways. Mortals are sure interesting, they only last mere hundreds of years yet they can leave impacts that can last long after they're gone. What do you think Novaris?"

Despite finding these chats annoying Novaris can't bring himself to Hate Dandifer - Shellina knows something most don't, unclear if she kept to herself or not - Bayla doesn't take being insulted too well

How would Novaris look before and after getting corrupted?

I don't have him made yet (currently working on Festivia) but He'd be ~8ft as most the Gods are unnaturally (compared to most Toons) tall, the exceptions being Festivia and Shellina (their size has nothing to do with their power). With three pairs of arms (6 arms total) the 3rd pair is kind of like Stitch's extra arms (from Lilo & Stitch) and can merge back into his body. He wore a massive (and soft) twin tail mantle that is longer than he is as it drags across the ground, it matches the night sky of the realm and has a blue silver rim. Though now through his Corruption, his eyes are now a bright blood red and is leaking a black fluid from his face, his Mantle is torn from claw marks, has splattered stains of his own blood, his mantle's tail lifts up and curls kind of like an evil villain's twin tail as its rounded edges are now sharp. My art "skills" can never match what I envision. So if I do finally end up making him, don't expect to see this cool mental image, as my art can never do my characters justice. Random Facts (Because I have so much lore and ideas and not enough asks to share the through): - Novaris is stronger in the Dark, while Dandifer is stronger in the Light, despite quite literally nerfing each other, they got along better and were closer than the other Gods. - Novaris can move the moon, Dandifer can move the sun... both don't for obviously dangerous reasons.

Toons that hold significance to the realm in one way or another

Mysterious Ancient Wizard (Is unavailable for asks)

The wizard behind the creation of the DARKNESS. His name is lost to time.

Gwen Dextrosa

Gwen is a very soft spoken, kind, and empathetic toon. Doing what she believes is right even at the cost of her own health. Nearly impossible to anger, however if you do expect either the stiffest silent treatment ever or being talked to with a epigrammatic rebuke undertone for however long you've angered her for

The only Priest of Festivia. She spends most her time keeping the Church of Festivia clean and going around helping with whatever she can be that healing the wounded, donating to the less fortunate, and whatever else she can... if she isn't busy trying to learn a new instrument or singing. Sir Rudin was the one to show Gwen Festivia's Light in her darkest hour. She certainly has a past filled with sorrow, that she rather not talk about.

Rudin Olaph (pronounced Olaf)

Rudin is very empathetic with an unbreakable will, most of the time he is very serious, though out of battle. When facing foes, he usually tries to deescalate the situation, though if he engages isn't known for holding back more than he needs to not kill a foe.

Festivia's Holy Knight, whom wields Festivia's Holy Lance. A Dedicated Knight who rides upon the back of a Dire wolf made of Coal named "Char" (Ch-R) . As serious as he is, he has running joke by traveling around the realm grabbing obscure instruments as he helps people and handing them to Gwen, who can't help but learn how to play them. He usually travels to wherever Festivia's light leads him. Face him in battle and you'll find he is extremely fast for someone in heavy armor.

Mysterious Mage

A Mysterious Mage who travels under moonlight and shadows, Glowing red Eyes as he slaughters those in his way with nothing but a shield.

Popigale Withers

Popigale is a quiet and morbid toon, she normally doesn't speak much, but by no means is she shy. Though due to her lack of positive social experience she is a bit introverted. Popigale prefers tactic over brute force and prefers logic over empathy.

Popigale was raised by Necromancers and a Lich, making death and undead a normal thing in her life. Initially seeking revenge for the deaths of her parents, Popigale grew docile. Popigale spends most her time practicing her instruments and spells, commanding her undead hoard to do chores, planning, and Reading. Facing her in battle means facing Wheister and potentially a hoard of undead.

Gods & Goddesses

The Gods & Goddesses that bring their magic and ideals to the realm. A Gods power grows and shrinks from the amount of people devoted to them, though their popularity doesn't determine all their power. Since the war against DARKNESS the gods have learned to use the holy magic from their own blood.

Dandifer - God of Sol (the Sun) & Fire + Water

Dandifer is described as being emotionally and physically strong and confident. Never giving up on a friend in need. The often seen as the leader of the Gods.

Dandifer is the most popular and most powerful God in the realm (besides Pre-Fall Novaris who was equal in power), said to have created the realm with his own two hands along side Novaris. With the ability to not only bring warmth but light to this world. He has an immortal pet Giant Stone Wolf named Rocknar. His Holy weapon is a Holy spear

Novaris - Fallen God of the Moon & Water DARKNESS Novaris was a Calm and Collected being who'd almost always keep his cool under pressure. His well thought out plans usually kept him and the other Gods out of trouble, if followed correctly. Now a speck of his former glory as his tolerance for others has greatly diminished pushing away those who wish to speak with him

Novaris, whom was once known to bring a calm relief over the realms once peaceful nights, his fall serves as a reminder of all the monstrous evil that darkness hides in the night. His calm and collected demeanor twisted into a cold and isolated. Novaris before his dark descent, gave up his control over water to Dandifer so the DARKNESS may not corrupt it and life could prevail. His holy weapon is a Holy Shield, his shield is currently missing and holding it physically burns Novaris due to the DARKNESS inside him

Garnerous - God of Harvest & Animals Garnerous brings bountiful harvests and a peace with the creatures of nature. Locked in an eternal rivalry with Veronica. Bayla once had a burning jealousy of him, though they came to an understanding that he controls all domesticated plants His Holy weapon is a Holy Bow, channeling his magic into the bow grants him Holy Arrows

Veronica - Goddess of Inspiration & Innovation Veronica pushes the minds of critical thinkers to new heights and overall improving the quality of mortal life. In a never seeming to end rivalry with Garnerous over who is more popular. Is the Forger of the Holy weapons. Her Holy weapons are flintlock pistols channeling Her magic into the Guns fires bullets of Holy magic.

Bayla - Goddess of Beauty & Plants Bayla brings the nature of the world color and life, once had an existential crisis and jealousy of Garnerous, though they came to and understanding that Bayla is the one who controls all the natural plants and brings beauty to the natural world. Her Holy weapons are Holy Whips

Shellina - Goddess of Remembrance & Earth (rocks) Shellina, though not as popular as she wants to be, she preserves the history of this realm no matter the how dark nor bright it was. Those that bury their dead often do so in hope Shellina will preserve their body and memories for eternity within the earth she controls. Her Holy weapon is Holy Hammer

Festivia - Goddess of Joy & Hope

Festivia, once the most cheerful and hopeful goddess with a popularity that once outshone Garnerous and Veronica, left broken after the horrors that was the War against the DARKNESS. Her wish granting miracles grew scarce and eventually ceased between until they stopped, which led to most of her followers giving up hope and moving on. Yet now Festivia seems to carry a new song of hope in her heart after Gaining a Holy Knight and a Devoted Priestess Her Holy weapon is a Holy Lance, whom she has granted to her Holy Knight

Magic exists everywhere in the Realm, though mostly emitted from living things. This magic can be used by all living to cast spells. Gods emit a unique magic that is more powerful than others and is unique to them. They can grant their followers the ability to use their magic.

The (INCOMPLETE) History of the Realm

Beginnings

Thousands of years ago the realm was created, many believe this to be the work of Dandifer and Novaris creating the Sol and Moon respectively, though as powerful as they were they didn't start life.

Arrival of Other Gods

Out of curiosity the other gods arrived, who began to channel their magic to bring life to the realm

Birth of the Darkness

Around hundred years ago a powerful magic user emerged whose name was lost to time but their impact would be felt forever. In the Wizard's pursuit of immortality created the DARKNESS a magic devouring sludge that corrupts the living and leaves waste to creation.

The War against DARKNESS

The Gods declared war on the DARKNESS the moment they learned of its existence, seeing it as a threat to everything they had created. Yet their efforts proved futile the DARKNESS, with its magic-devouring nature, went unopposed and continued its rampage. It was Veronica who discovered a breakthrough. After isolating a fragment of the DARKNESS, she learned that it could be harmed with a new force: Holy Magic. This incorruptible power flowed directly from the Gods themselves, drawn from their very blood. At their command, Veronica forged weapons imbued with this sacred essence. The holy weapons worked. For the first time, the DARKNESS could be wounded. But victory remained out of reach upon reaching it's core. It regenerated faster than it could be struck down, feeding endlessly on the normal magic emitted from the Gods. Novaris seeing as his fellow Gods were loosing hope, granting Dandifer his magic to control water, resorted to a desperate plan.
