Happy 71st Brian May
My God. A living legend. Idol. The man who inspired me to pick up the guitar in the first place.
Happy Birthday Dr.May.
Living A Dream Pt.1
For many years, and I mean many - almost from when I first started playing guitar 14 years ago, and was visiting Tenerife for my first time (Now on my 11th visit); I have had a dream of performing in a bar or even just busking, in Tenerife.
Well... With no summer work experience on the table (my own fault), weeks were going by - and I was just getting depressed, realising the potential of coming back to Uni in September, with nothing to say for myself. With that, and an incomplete essay which I failed earlier on this year (And I still haven't finished it - leaving myself just the week from when I come back home on the 16th, to write it!) I took on the logic of, "bugger it, let's throw caution to the wind - and work doing one of the only things I know how to." Just the next day, I had bought my hotel, and flights to and from Tenerife. Of course, being so spontaneous for such a trip, didn't do me much of a financial favour... But hey, If I find what I'm after, and can cover it all - fuck it.
I learnt a valuable lesson however... You get what you pay for. When it came to buying a case for my ovation a few years ago, I thought cheap and cheerful would do the job - a nice soft case. Fast forward to buying travel tickets for Tenerife - and I realise how much of an idiot I was for being such a cheapskate. Especially after having to pay another ÂŁ300 for your guitar to travel on the seat next to you, because it'll get damaged if you put it in the hold! On top of this... I couldn't buy 2 seperate rate tickets for myself/my guitar; meaning that when I chose the "travel +" ticket for myself - entitling me to carry 2 pieces of hand luggage, and a 20kg bag... I had to pay the priority fee for my guitar as well ffs. đ My flight tickets were actually more expensive than my hotel (and transfer from the airport) was for 13 nights...
I get off the plane, and board my transfer coach - taking me from the airport to my hotel... And I swear, it would've been quicker if I'd have WALKED! 2 whole hours, of stopping at pretty much every hotel in Tenerife đ However, I arrive here at the apartment, and it's nothing short of amazing! A beautiful big flat, with bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, a lounge/ living space, and a balcony directly overlooking the pool and ocean! Unbelievable! And for only âŹ40 a night?!?! đą
I spend my first full day here, just relaxing... Enjoying the views, the weather, the atmosphere, and discovering where everything is...
I mean, I walked a mile up a steep mountain (Ok... Well, close to a mountain - after all, Tenerife is made up of an active volcano), just to get to the supermarket... When upon walking back, I learn there is a large supermarket just like this one... Only 5 minutes away from my hotel đđ Can't say a bit of exercise wouldn't be too bad for me though! Those Ben and Jerry tubs I devour each day are starting to show! đ
My dad and I always liked to do things ourselves when we were here... So like the old days, I booked a self catering apartment! The only real difference being that, instead of paying for breakfast in the downstairs cafĂŠ by the pool... We go to the mini market and buy a fresh warm baguette each morning đ One of the things I miss the most here though, has got to be this vanilla milkshake that you can only get out here! So when given the chance, I drained the large supermarket of them - and stocked up my fridge! What's fascinating about them however, is that they don't actually need to go in the fridge?? Is it even milk?!
The only thing that tops this, is my beautiful, amazing, gold, REAL Banana Liqueur!! And what's more... Pretty much every single shop over here sells it! My suitcase coming back is going to be interesting...
Just before I went to the shops to buy the gold; I stopped at the Temple Bar. A bar where a few years ago, I met Liam - the main man so to speak, who performs 6/7 nights at the Temple, even had a documentary made on him by sky, and the guy who paved my career as an entertainer! Although he still works there up to this day... I was gutted to find out that Liam had gone back home to Ireland to start his tour around the UK - only 2 days before I arrived!!
So here's the backstory... When I first visited the Temple with my dad around 2012 - Liam, generating banter inbetween songs, joked if I could play the guitar. Big mistake hahaha. So he handed me his guitar, and I played a few songs! But to both our surprise - my little two-song-set, actually went down really well with the audience đ I would come back there a few more nights that week... And Liam would continue to let me have a little set whilst he went off for the loo! However, when I returned to the Temple, at the same time the next year, and the year after that, and the year after that; I was literally astonished and honoured, that Liam - out of the thousands of people that enter the bar in a couple months alone... recognised me instantly as soon as I walked through the Temple doors! What's more, he kept on inviting me up to play each time I was there, and for longer and longer sets - no matter how busy! I'd actually become his smoke and drink break! I just can't put in to words how excited I was about going to the Temple Bar each night. A truly out of this world experience, which to him may not have meant much, but to me - it was just unforgettable! An unforgettable experience in which I remain very, very, grateful to Liam for giving me! I can honestly say that without Liam, if he hadn't made that bet that first night I was at the Temple; Dan The Guitarist would not have come to exist!
Here's a photo of Liam... Followed by me, at the same place, with the same guitar!!
Anyway, after I buy the stuff, being the typical myself, I get terribly lost - and decide to catch a cab back home!
Michael Jackson - The Way You Make Me Feel
My fellow singers, do you ever hit a high note or two out of your usual vocal range, once in a while - and think âhow the ⌠Did I reach that?!â In this case: 0:30 - 0:33
This arrangement took me forever to work out, and yet it still seems empty in one area đ Of course I canât spend too long making the loops when performing live!
Mini Brian May... Except I'm terrible at guitar!
Local Taxis?
Whenever I take a cab somewhere, I always take a few things into consideration; how they greet me upon entering the vehicle, If they chat en-route (and does it seem forced), if it's their own car or a company's, and how close to my destination I'm asking them to take me. (I.e. Right to my front door)
This will determine if I give them a tip at the end. I don't often carry notes unless I know I am going to catch a cab - but say I take a fiver, and I'm being taken the mile to my house from Uni; 9 times out of ten, if the driver is nice - I will give them that extra quid.
But jesus, there are some assholes out there. On Sunday for example - I caught a cab to take me the 1.3 miles from the train station to my home. (lazy I know, but it was hot and I'd been sprinting around London all day catching trains) We got to my house, and I asked him to come up on the drive so I get my money's worth. So we're on my drive, and I ask how much he's charging for it... It seems the meter is never right, and after a few taps - he's asking for ÂŁ7.10?!?! I mean... Shit! The highest I've been charged for that journey before was ÂŁ5.50/ ÂŁ6.
Then, as I'm taking my tenner from my wallet - the rat bastard asks how much change I want back?! This is when I had one of those "uh, wtf" moments. The whole lot thank you! But no... because I'm nice, and was still recovering from what I just heard - that greedy scum guilted me into just asking for ÂŁ1 back.
Looking back at it, I have realised - I PAID ÂŁ9, FOR 1.3 FUCKING MILES!! đ My blood is boiling!
Now, not all taxi drivers are like this, and I understand it can be a very low paid job. But this guy had his own car and barely spoke. I always thought we got told to look after the local taxi companies - and choose them over an uber or similar. But this utter scumbag's last words has left me grumbling in doubt.
I recall another disappointing experience I had with another taxi driver in my first year at uni in 2016. So I was meeting my dad at the local airfield where he was gonna pick me up in his plane and we'd fly down to home. Unlike the event on Sunday, I had booked this one - but by god, I now wish I hadn't.
I gave the driver, the exact and precise instructions as to where I was, but he was not there and was no where to be found. After 20 minutes of him saying he was moving to the nearby bus station - where I said I would be as I could not find his original spot... I finally found the driver on the street behind the building I had asked him to meet me at. He then proceeded to hurl abuse at me, claiming I made him late and all and that I can't follow instructions. đ I was out of breath from trying to find him, but by god when I recovered did I give him a well deserved mouthful of stern words. Then, as we got round the corner - this tosser asked If I had any small change to pay the fare, as I only had a twenty. Grrr. He stopped outside a shop, and literally forced me to go inside and spend my own money (which I didn't want to do) - so he could drive me to the airport. I was fuming at this point - and did my very best at making the trip as awkwardly silent as possible. However, he didn't help himself when he actually began to ask me for directions to the airfield?!
"Uh, excuse me" I said. "You've got it in your sat nav!!" My god, the cheek of him. đ
I am downloading the Uber app as we speak...
And booking gym sessions to become less lazy and walk!

Boycott Halal Produce
So many consumers have turned vegan these past couple years. All these animal rights activists kicking in their arguments as to why humans have been "wrong" for eating meat for the thousands of years man kind has been on this Earth.
Ok, I quite clearly do not support veganism in it's fullest - I live off meat and milkshake. However, vegetarians... That's a different story. Even I, have watched videos that have shaped my shopping habits, and has led me to be particular about the food/ meat, I pick up off the shelves whilst shopping.
There was a video, with *get this* the Beatle, Paul McCartney, explaining the cruelty of factory farming. The footage on that video alone, which I watched a couple years ago - scarred me from ever picking up any 'factory farmed' produce again. Seeing the beyond-overcrowded huts for cows being raised for slaughter - sent my feelings of claustrophobia through the roof, and left me quivering.
Digging deeper into this, I learnt how the animals in these 'farms', are so cruelly turned to nothing. I also learnt, different methods of farming - and how different techniques are used in smaller/ larger scale farming productions. From free range, to kosher.
However, one method of slaughter stood out from the rest, like a sore thumb that was ripped in half by a steel hammer in the middle of a Russian winter. Yes as the title suggests - this form of barbaric cruelty... Is practiced by none other, than the religious group - Islam. A religion, outdated in all of its traditions - which on top of Halal slaughter... STILL believes, in this day and age - that woman are inferior to males.
According to farmers online, and some of my friends who are farmers and own farms themselves; the way to kill an animal, so as to cause minimal pain and adhere to legislation on the matter - is by stunning the animal with a high voltage so that the animal is unconscious, before the slaughter begins. Although I am no expert on animal slaughter - having never done it, and never wanted to do it. I can safely say that any living creature, exposed to a high enough voltage - will have it's nerves fried, so will not feel pain at the time it is butchered. However, many articles have shown that many Halal butchers do not stun the animal before they are slaughtered. Halal means the animals are sliced in the neck, before left to bleed out, and squirm in pain till their death. And yet, the religion claims this method of torture, is humane?!
Even big name organisations like the BBC, have pointed out the controversy of Halal slaughter. And yet despite the big global animal rights movement - protecting animals from cruelty; no-one appears to be making a stance on the islamic practices. Maybe it's because it's under the cover of religion - and everyone is afraid of standing out, in case they are labelled as being a racist.
I read an article saying the Scandinavian countries have banned religious slaughter methods - stating: "animal's rights comes before religion." And I am in whole hearted agreement.
But how does this affect us, if we didn't care about the cruelty of the slaughter?
"Halal slaughter can only be carried out on one animal at a time - no other animals can see the death of another."
Slicing the animals neck, will supposedly take more expertise... Waiting for the animal to bleed out, will take more time. And what does time equal? Money! So each time you pay for halal-tortured produce, you're paying extra. Although I'm not sure if it's the case in the UK, I know in the USA; many brands of food are certifying their produce as Halal, and are literally hiding tiny "Halal" labels on the back of the packaging. Giving the food manufacturers/ the halal butchers, the perfect method of scamming people for more of their hard earned cash!
Although I will not point you out, scream at you, or target you for eating Halal produce. I do not, and will not support it - so shall be staying clear of anything Halal. I believe that just like the Red Tractor symbol - the Halal symbol, indicating that the product has been halal slaughtered, should be clearly marked on the packaging, so as not to give any surprises and forcing the culture on someone.
Subwoofers Music Festival â The End
Wow. Just Wow. For weeks before the event, I remember saying with a mate, that we just wanted to get this damn event over and done with! Everything was so hectic⌠artists dropping out, artists not replying, awaiting legal documents from individuals â who expect me to trust them that I will have the papers less a week before the event.
I must admit that throughout this process â I feel as if I havenât contributed half as much as I possibly could have. After getting in touch with the talent whom I liaised with, albeit it took a long time to book them due to special talent requirements and factors; for a week before, and after the day itself - I couldnât help but think how little I actually did in the grand scheme of things. Maybe itâs because last year I was in the production team â where almost every significant step of the event happens.
And so to the day itself!
I gotta say⌠Iâm a lucky son of a ⌠yeah. I seem to recall back to our courseâs first event, Winterland in 2016; when looking after the ice rink till late in the evening in the rose garden at the university, for a test run with uni students â I got to arrive at 10am on the event itself, as opposed to 4am like everyone else! *cheesy smug grin* Well, much like Winterland â I was assigned to come to the bus station at 12 to make sure all the talent, (the performers from uni societies) using the coach â were there. However, I was up and rolling at 8am just in case anyone wanted me to swap buses for whatever reason, and catch the 10am bus to the site. Of course, with all this spare time on my hands â I was able to accept requests to bring items from Sainsburys⌠i.e. canned espressos/ food etc.
By the time I had arrived at the bus shelter, I remember feeling that I had already done a dayâs work â dragging my guitar, my loop pedal, (which I donât have a bag that it fits in) a friendâs laptop, supplies for the day, and sun cream - for the mile trek to the Swan Theatre from home, under the blistering sun. Although I complain about the weather being too hot â in reality, it was perfect and I couldnât have asked for it to have been any better. For a few weeks, many of us had worries it was going to rain on the day â which with the grass at the hearing dogs trust, would have led to a catastrophe! I arrived at the shelter at 11:45, and waited until I believed everyone was there â which was around 12:10. My favourite thing about doing this, was being able to make a quick announcement/ thank you for coming speech, on the bus. This process couldnât have gone any better, as we set off at 12:15 â another 15 minutes before the coach was due to depart the station. (And no, we didnât leave any stragglers running behind the bus!) It took the usual time to arrive on site at the hearing dogs site â and I counted everyone that came off the bus. Good news, the same amount got off, as got on â great success!
Despite being on the site multiple times over the course of organising Subwoofers â I still got easily lost on site. On top of this, I had absolutely no clue where I was going or what I was doing after arriving on site with the societies â so was relieved when I met Remely at the front gates to escort us all to the production office! After being taken to the production office, the volunteers and myself were to be given the roles for the day. Although Rem was very much on the ball⌠she was perhaps a little, too on the ball â for I couldnât even drop my stuff in the corner before the safety induction started haha! Eventually, I was able to hop over and listen to her talk about what, and what not to do in the event of emergency or incident. However, when it came to giving out roles â the whole room raised an eyebrow! Understandably stressed â she was panicking and dancing around the room shouting jobs and co-ordinates. As a result, many of us were still in the production office when Michelle had come in the room and announced the event was âofficially openâ. However, good olâ Rem kept her cool â and soon enough, everyone knew what they were doing, and where! Of course⌠I got lost en-route to my position, so had to get help from the production team leader to help guide me! (Shout out to Jessie, who did an absolutely sensational job for the whole event â whilst keeping calm and collected right from 7am when she arrived on site, to 9:30pm when we all left the site!) I believe the whole handing out of roles job, could have been made slightly easier, had everyone in the course known their position before arriving on site â and had a personal copy of the roles sheet, and site map. I understand though, that the site map was only finalised the day before â as a result of the dodgems arriving on site THE DAY BEFORE!?!?! These guys completely changed the layout of the site, and I wouldnât be surprised if this added to the confusion of giving out roles!
About 10 minutes after being briefed, I was now at my âspotâ so to speak, and ready for whatever! What I did not expect however, was a call from the main stage assistant; asking if I would be willing to perform as âDan the Guitaristâ, on the main stage in 30 minutes, as James Kennedy â another act, had dropped out! OHH HECK YES! Although I was dying to perform - I did feel a little guilty, as I had only just been given my position, and someone would have to be found to cover my position! However, I didnât feel so bad when I learnt that a volunteer from the 1st year on our course â Sophie, was still looking for a role! With that, I sprinted off to the production office to pick up my music stuff, before going to the stage and beginning to set up my equipment. It was an amazing experience to perform on that stage, and I have some amazing photos taken by friends and relatives!
After I had finished performing, I quickly said hi to my family and friends who had come to watch me play, and dashed off back to the production office to drop off my stuff again. I then retreated back to my position â awaiting my turn for my solo slot on the second stage - only 1 hour or so after I had returned!
Anyway, I will talk a little bit about my role. It was quite an easy role, and no doubt one of the easiest roles that could be given to anyone on the day. However, it was vital role â as it involved making sure the emergency vehicle turning point was kept clear in case of an emergency. The other side of my role entailed directing cars entering car park 2 to the rightâŚwhich with only one car arriving every 30 minutes or so â was relatively easy⌠even for me. The most eventful thing that happened whilst I was in this position, was an ambulance (car), that parked semi-on the emrg. turning circle. The hard part came asking the driver if he was parking his car there to attend to an emergency, or there just in case an emergency happened! It turns out, he was only there to drop off welfare supplies to the medical tent on site â and returned in about 15 minutes to collect his car. Although the traffic coming through my area was minimal, I did come across two or three members from acts such as Horn Division, whom I did not know where to send (according to the plan). In one of these instances, I was able to find a quick cover â and escort the artist to the main stage, the same way I arrived at the main stage earlier. As touched on briefly above, if each steward were given a small booklet describing roles, w/ site map - simple (and expected) procedures like this one â could have been carried out by the book; leading to no confusion.
My next âbig thingâ, was playing on the second stage at 3:30. So from my position, I went to the production office, picked up my guitar once more â and travelled across to the furthest side of the field to the second stage. Yet again, another successful slot â I began to realise I had played for another 5 minutes longer than allotted. I remember looking for the next artist due on to show up â whom I knew was Sansha, and thinking, perhaps the sound tech will give me a last song warning⌠but neither happened. After I had exhausted my setlist, and even played some songs that were off my planned set  â I decided to play one more song, in the hope that Sansha turns up, making the changeover quick and easy. However, it was only about another 10 minutes after I had packed up, that Sansha arrived and began setting up! How could this have been prevented? Well, I guess itâs out of our control really â as I believe she said âtraffic held me back.â However, I do believe that the artists should have been informed to arrive on site, one hour before being due to go on. Sansha was an artist whom I had liaised with from the beginning â seeing her perform before at our uni student unionâs âvibes nightâ. Although as a group â the talent team were not keen to take her on for the event (Sanshaâs music did not blend in with the theme of the day), and I was asked to drop her; I stuck to my guns â taking in to consideration that some acts may drop out. Of course, when some acts as expected - did drop out⌠I knew I could contact Sansha and confirm her place at the event. After her performance â and as the talent team concluded when first listening to her music before the event; she wasnât quite the right sort of artist we were looking for on the day. On the other hand, because talent had ârid ofâ other potential acts too earlier on in the process â this act was our only choice, and hope of keeping the event running smoothly. Hey ho, she did her job, and we kept the stage running smoothly đ
I took a little break after performing on the second stage, and went to socialise with my family and friends, before making my way back to the production office. There was some issues stirring where some believed that, me performing on the stages â counted as my breaks⌠which I disagreed with, but took lightly as I know some of the guys who had been on site from 7ish, hadnât even had a break yet! I know we had a few less stewards on the day than what we wanted⌠but of course, that happens at most events. So, when stewards were being moved around to cover positions; the log book explaining everyoneâs roles and times went out the window a little. The only real way of solving this is by finding more volunteers/ security to cover positions â but I think communication could have been improved upon by those with radios (there were not many radios either), walking the whole site, and informing staff how long they have left in a position. My apologies if there were those people â as I did not see any myself.
One thing that cropped up in a lot of the feedback from visitors, was how great of an idea it was to have stewards walking around the site supplying sun cream! Although I donât believe it was an âofficial roleâ so to speak â It was a great idea, and some smart thinking!
My final role on the day, began when I had finished on the second stage, and after my break â around 4:30. I was directed to the front entrance to the site with the long driveway, where I was to welcome new visitors, and escort them to the ticket office at the other end of the site if they didnât have wristbands. However, at this time â it was late in the day, and only 3 hours before closing time â so pretty much everyone had already bought tickets, and we just had to show them the right direction on to the main site! In the end, the role turned into waving goodbye to visitors and artists as they left â with the intention of delivering top customer service from start to finish đ
There was one challenge in this particular role regarding guests of acts. On the day, artists like myself â were given the opportunity to put a number of relatives/ friends on a guest list; allowing those guests to enter the event for free. However, it appeared that many of the acts had not told their family who was part of the guest list/ who was not. Or perhaps it was not made clear enough that only (2 guests?) per each artist, were allowed on the guestlist? Either way, because I was not told about the procedure regarding guests; there were a number of times when I escorted a heard of guests on to the site to find the person in charge of maintaining/ operating the list. The lack of understanding with what was happening, also caused us to panic â meaning some cars parked in the wrong area. However, this car park had many available spaces, and the guests who parked in these spaces, exited the site safely at the end of the event. I spoke with James, who was overseeing the event with Alan on the day, and told him of the situation regarding guest lists. And I was told to just let all the guests/ relatives of the acts in, and receive wristbands - what I had been thinking was perhaps the best idea.
There was a slight tension in the class when everyone learnt I might be going back home early with the talent *eek*⌠but the tension deescalated when someone from one of the university societies said they were able to make their own way home, and had been debriefed!
Overall, it was a truly amazing day â and I am still âbuzzingâ with excitement from the event. My personal Facebook âDan the Guitaristâ page, went through the roof with activity â and I received some messages saying how much people liked my performance!
Signs with Nothing on them
One of my biggest moans this time around - was the lack of communication throughout the whole group. Not just talent, but the whole course(s)... That means music business as well.
When we did Winterland before christmas in 2016, everyone raced down to the workshop, and it was all what us danes refer to as, "fint og hyggelit" - nice and cozy. Everyone was pitching in, still some more than others... But at least everyone in the group made it down eventually, and the job got done! This year however... even with the extra students from music business - pretty much no one has gone down to help.
This year, I have been down to almost all sessions (if there were 10, I was there for 9). And I can tell you, the most amount of people that have stepped in that room at once this term, has got to be just about, or less than 10. And still, that has only happened once. Pretty much every sign in the workshop this year, was painted by me, Phoebe, Izzy, Mike and Femke. They may look a bit rough and ready, and some may still have pencil marks on them from where we sketched out the writing... But at least we can say we did them!
I understand some of us have been much busier than others - and some have been working way into the night to get their work done, before going for a site visit the next morning!! So I understand how they don't have enough time to paint. But a lot of people have just sat idle. I won't name names, but I can tell you - you can pretty much ask anyone in the course... and they'll pull the same name out of the hat.
It's a shame really, as we don't want the event to look tacky. Did you know, that some of the signs from my years' winterland - haven't been touched...
But, as I said at the beginning... Perhaps it's not just down to laziness, but just down to lack of communication. I just remember one workshop/ lecture session, when a few people in the room said... WHY ARE WE USING MESSENGER TO TALK WHEN WE'RE ALL HERE, RIGHT IN FRONT OF EACHOTHER?! Well, they were right. How are people not on the group chat, suppose to know there is a painting session going on/ or if something is happening, if they don't get told?
The sessions - mostly planned by, and should be accredited to: Lauren, Phoebe and Izzy (nice one ladies); were only put forward in our Music and Live Events Management chat. That wasn't their fault - it just so happens to be that particular chat, is the best method of getting in touch with the most amount of people as possible if you're not with them.
But at the same time, you've gotta think... We used intiative to come down, so why couldn't they? It's their event too! Besides, I do believe a rotor was created to give each group - a day to go down.
I must admit I am fresh out of ideas, for how this whole issue for future bucks live events, can be solved... But there will be a way somewhere, somehow.

Bucks Live Update...
So, it is very close to the day itself (3 days away), and everyone has switched to full on panic mode as things start popping up or going wrong! In my case, yoga dropped out the other day. âš Although I sort of expected it to happen seen as itâs âFestiball weekendâ at uni, and they would have to wait 4 hours (after their performance) till 7:30pm to catch the scheduled bus back home; each time Iâve been liaising with someone, and theyâve dropped out â I canât help but get this feeling of being hit in the stomach. A feeling of, perhaps I could have done something that could have made them stay a part of the event. With most of the yoga committee being part of the dance society, it was funny that when things started to get sketchy with transport timings â both societies dropped just one or two days of each other. My tutor always has a wobble when weâve ask uni societies to join us, just because of how unreliable they have been for past year Bucks Live events⌠and I now finally see why! To be fair, some societies have been relatively easy to work with⌠but isnât it a coincidence how for the 4 societies still attending, there is at least one member of each of those societies in our course haha. Still, a round of applause and a big thank you to Acapella, Bucks Blades, Circus and Story Telling for sticking with us!!Â
One of my key frustrations is with the actual date of our event itself. I am willing to bet that if Festiball was moved a week forwards, or we moved our event forward by a week to avoid the clash⌠the societies may have been easier to work with, as we wouldnât be taking them away from what is considered one of the best weekends of the year at the uni! Also, with dissertations being due around this period â I have heard from numerous people that they did not want to be a part of the event if they could not come and go when they wanted. :-/ Once again, I must confess my frustrations with the event being held out of university grounds.Â
Throughout the course of organising this event, I have questioned to myself whether it would have been better to get in contact with more talent than we need, and then narrow it down at the end. Since the beginning, I have offered to get in touch with the Jackie Palmer School of Dance â whom I have a contact for. However, I was stopped by my team on the grounds that they were trying to get in contact with another dance school. What bugged me about this, was that they chose to ignore the most popular dance school in High Wycombe with alumni such as James Cordon and Eddie Redmayne, in the centre of High Wycombe⌠ for some little dance school on the outskirts, with perhaps one A5 size flyer near the Railway station telling people who they are. Although nothing came out of this whole dance malarkey, and we are calling our event a âmusic festivalâ - making it ideal that we have given all the stage time to musicians; I do think having something completely different would have perhaps benefited the event. Because just like the Holmer Green School acts, students will bring their parents â therefore increasing the turnout on the day!Â
Hahahaha
As if I've never seen this gif... Wait till the end đđ
There will always a be a time to make a Queen reference.
Why is the Russian/USSR anthem just so epic?!

Fair enough, Putin is just a complete and utter nutter, and Russia is governed by a system only themselves and Kim Jong Un, understand... but by God do they have the most beautiful and powerful anthem in the World! It spits pity on the UKâs pathetic anthem.
Although one does have to accredit Brian May for the most epic guitar orchestrations, and outros in particular; on Queenâs rendition of âGod Save The Queenâ off âA Night At The Operaâ, and Briâs live performance on top of Buckingham Palace. (Heck yeah Dr.May!)Â

Although anything Brian May does or writes - just helps to define pure awesomeness...
There can never be enough Brian May Gifs.
But back to the USSR - just listen to that immense, raw, power! A full orchestra, with what sounds like an army - roaring strength and love for their country, brothers and sisters... not just one person. *Cough - insert British anthem*
Verse 1:
Russia is our sacred state,
Russia is our beloved land.
The powerful strength and the great glory
Are your properties for all the time.
Chorus:
Long live our Fatherland, land of the free,
The eternal union of brothers nations,
Given by ancestors the people's wiseness!
Long live our land! We are proud of you!
Verse 2:
From the southern seas to the polar lands
Spread are our forests and fields.
You are unique in the world, one of a kind -
This native land protected by God!
Verse 3:
Wide expanse for dreams and for living
Are opened for us by the coming years
Our loyalty to the Fatherland gives us strength.
So it was, so it is, and so it always will be!
Hereâs a bit of Monty Python, explaining what I think of royalty.

Phew
I was the transport administrator for my summer job at Anglian Water, organising loading, transport, and sign offs at the other end... So what better role could I have been given for SubWoofers, than organising travel to and from the site!
Just finished messaging everyone on the Live Events/Music Business courses (37) if they are catching the bus or using their own transport! đ
Ahh, perfect representation of my current state right now by Link!!
On a side note: Am I the only british person who loves Rhett and Link, and their show Good Mythical Mornings?!
