I always have to snap photos of Jean Luc really quickly before he runs up to give me kisses, because that’s all he wants to do when he’s out.

Today is my sixth anniversary of owning rats. to all the rats I’ve ever loved, to all the rats I’ve yet to know, to all the rats that have paid my vets’ kids’ college tuition, to all the rats that have licked the tears off my face, to all the rats that have bit the shit out of my fingers, to all the rats that have broken my heart, to all the rats I couldn’t save, to all the friends I’ve met through my rats, to all the sick rats I’ve sat up with in the middle of the night crossing my fingers and hoping against hope they’re going to make it (to the ones that do, & especially the ones that don’t), to all the rats that laugh when I tickle them, to all the rats that hide when they see me, to all the rats to crawl on me when I’m sad & tickle my face with their whiskers,

it would take a million blogs to tell you what you meant to me. you have been worth every cent of the thousands of dollars & the oodles of heartache & the tons of headache & I don’t know that I’d be without you. I have never regretted any of you for a second.

Jean Luc is one of my favorite rats I have right now, but I rarely post him because he is very passionate about giving kisses & so it can be a little difficult to get photos of him.

My sweet Lily crossed over the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. Though I am extremely sad, I know that she’s with Emmy again, and the two are running around and playing like crazy.

The Peruvian lily is a symbol of friendship. She gave us that, and more.

We love you, Lily. You are our angel. <3

Odin Update

Odin is doing really well. The vet said he had textbook perfect abscess. It drained completely and is healing fantastically. When I got home last night he had chewed off the dead tissue and the new tissue underneath was pink and healthy looking with no leakage. He isn’t in any pain and is still on 0.25mL of Baytril-cherry syrup mixture.
