I'm glad he was one of the first male characters I was exposed to in media. It isn't the core moral of the game, despite how often it comes up, but a lot of toxic masculinity ideology, and why it's bad, is explored between Tidus and Jecht. Jecht was a bad Dad, but did grow and learn before the events of X, sadly before Tidus could really know him better and see a side of him that wasn't as cruel.
