Courfeyrac rolled his eyes. “Fine. The debt has been paid. I will no longer besmirch your bad name with tales of your good deeds. But we are grateful, know that.”
"Kids have a way of doing that. Obviously, I don’t have any of my own, but my three younger sisters, they’re great. I’d do anything for them." He grinned. "You might have to get an actual job. That’s an interesting thought. You gonna wait tables? Maybe sort books at the library?"
"Thank you." Courfeyrac said stiffly. "Um, I’m not going to tell you that it’s ok, or all is forgiven, but…thank you for apologizing. I, er…I miss him."
Courfeyrac wasn’t entirely sure why he was being nice to Montparnasse, but he didn’t like seeing people upset. “Nicolette. I like it. It’s pretty. Suits her. And I’m sure she does. Babies are a handful.”
Montparnasse smirked. "I'm glad we have an understanding then. I was happy to help, and that'll be the end of it. Feel free to tell Combeferre that too. I have this feeling like that might not be enough for him cause he seems like the overly nice guy, but I don't need anything."
"I always wondered what it would be like with siblings. I used to think of Feuilly like a brother..he got me out of a lot of trouble when I still lived in foster care." He shrugged and smiled slightly at the other. "I know, it sounds rather unlikely. Those both sound terrible, but I guess I'll have to come up with something."
"I understand. If there's anything I could do to try and fix it, I would. And I'm sorry. Again."
Montparnasse smiled slightly, though it fell just as fast as he found himself glancing over at Combeferre and Nicky again. "Yeah...her mom named her. But I'm glad to have her regardless of the trouble. Do you think it's going okay? Or is something truly wrong with her like I thought?"
