EPILOGUE

Shortly after the execution of Viktor Asimov and the death of both Sour Candy and Trouble, Yasueiga Asase had gone through to the previous headquarters and switched off the device that prevented help to come in. If anybody were to set foot on the island, things would have gone horribly wrong, but the brave screenwriter stepped in for his redemption. He explained the devices scattered around the island would let out a gas that would have suffocated everyone, but now that it was inactive, they should be safe. With some tinkering back on the ship, the teenagers managed to send a distress beacon, and pray for escape.

In a few short hours, helicopters came flying in to rescue the kids who had regained hope for a better future-- That is, the Future Foundation had come to save them. Everyone is returned to Japan, safely and under the protection of the Future Foundation. What happens next? That’s up to you.

VIKTOR ASIMOV HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY.

The mastermind…. no, Viktor…. had been caught at long last. Once he was dead, you’d get to go free… right? Was that all there really was to it? There was only one way to find out. He didn’t even have to be dragged, instead settling on giving a small wave and walking off to his death.

The room was dark. Or, at least it was up until the mastermind had walked in. Bright lights flooded, causing Viktor to squint. Light may have been something he wasn’t entirely adjusted to just yet - and it seems like he never would be again.  A screen lit up, displaying in bright red letters:

THE THREE LAWS OF ROBOTICS.

This remained for a moment, before flickering to another message.

ONE - A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

In the background, video captures of the executions and crime scenes could be seen. Viktor had clearly broken this law by starting the killing game. How morbid. A knife flew out of a small hole, stabbing him in the arm and sending him flying back.

TWO - A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

Nothing in the background this time, but instead… was some sort of audio playing? You couldn’t quite hear it, but it was clear Viktor could. Tears welled up at his eyes, and another knife went flying, this one into his other arm.

Wasting no time on moving to the final law, the screen changed again.

THREE - A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

This remained for a moment, before the screen changed once more, this time to the camera feed everyone else was seeing. That’s right… executing yourself isn’t exactly protecting your own existence, is it? You knew what would happen now.  

Instead of to his arm, this one was sent hurling right towards his chest. He didn’t try to move, or do anything about his present situation. He just… accepted it.

With a SHWUK, the knife entered his body. He coughed out a spurt of blood, before collapsing, lifeless.

Viktor Asimov, SHSL Roboticist and Mastermind, has been executed.

The heavy atmosphere in the trial room weighs in on everyone’s conscious as it began to grow silent. The center aisle opened slowly, and rose out the person we’ve all been waiting for...

Admittedly, the circumstances lately have been... odd. What with Yasueiga being held hostage, the discovery of Jamie, the investigation of the headquarters. Things have been interesting, to say the least. So, when you found Henrik hooting about again after a period of inactivity, you weren’t surprised in the least. What did he want this time?  

When he caught notice of you, he flew over. 

“Trial room. Now.” 

What...? There wasn’t even a murder, though. Either way, you stop what you’re doing and head to the trial room. This was bound to be interesting.

Once you make your way to the campground, something new catches your eye rather than an easy entry point into the forest...

Marina decides to search the unknown body for injuries!

Marina finds that all over his body, he’s covered in bruises.

It’s been a while without much word from the birds and cat. Peaceful and yet frightening, who knows when they might speak up again. There hasn’t been word on Yasueiga either, is he still alive? Did they end up killing him? No one ever did do something to save him or kill him...

As you make your way back to the ship after breakfast, something catches your eye on the beach. There’s a lump in the sand near the thickest part of the island’s forest. You deviate from your path to go check it out. You go over in your head the possibilities....what could it be? As you get closer, you notice that it seems to be a body- WAIT, did someone end up killing? Who alive still could do that when you’re not even sure what you had to do to...do something for Yasueiga.

Once close enough you realize...you don’t recognize the body.

Henrik isn’t around this time to tell you that a body has been discovered, so just what are you to do with this?

COMMENCING EXECUTION

The doors open. What was once just a black room slowly began to gleam with light as a pair of double doors creaked apart to reveal Candy’s shadowed face. Her eyes gazed around what felt like an empty gym, unable to see anything past the door’s light.

It was quiet. Too quiet. Blinking, finally she took a step inside, moving forward a couple more feet to the light’s edge before suddenly, the doors slam shut behind her. The loud bang threw the gamer’s attention back to the door with a start, eyes narrowing a bit as Candy forced her body to relax again. It’s alright, it’s alright. She was good at this, right? Yeah. If it was what she thought it was. Turning back around, a tight frown pulled over her lips as she continued forward, gaze darting around in the darkness, listening. Just waitin–

Suddenly, a small spotlight shined down upon two figures in the middle of the room. They hadn’t been facing Candy at first, but that didn’t seem to matter. A tiny red ’!’ suddenly popped up over the figures’ heads before it turned around, revealing Augustus and Bastien wearing white shirts with a letter ‘H’ on them, white pants, and black gloves, marching over to Candy without a word. They looked up, obviously looking excited.

“Prepare for trouble-” “And make it double.”

And then- it was dark. A world engulfed by pure blackness, until finally, a light bright enough to show what was within it’s circle flashed op, revealed the shaded form of a giant, angelic-looking Henrik on the other side of the room - accustomed with three sets of wings that didn’t touch his back and winged ears that that doubled on each side.

Augustus and Bastien would like to battle!

Shit– here we go! Ready to go, a sudden grin flashed across Candy’s face as she reached over for her first Pokemon. With a good throw, Luxray was already on the field, followed by the image of Candy pointing and shouting a command before the Pokemon moved forward to attack. The giant Henrik then leapt into the air, smashing into the ground with a thunder quake as numerous boulders fell from what seemed like nowhere from above. And with that, Luxray was crushed.

She grimaced, teeth clenching in a worried annoyance as the gamer threw out her second Pokemon - Malamar. Another attack was commanded and the Pokemon complied easily. When the attack finally backed off, Henrik took no time to loose. Without warning, a large flower bloomed from the owl’s chest - shooting out a blinding light straight at Malamar relentlessly until the Pokemon was finally down. Shit- that’s two down.

Now she was building up a sweat. Without missing a beat, Candy quickly threw her next pokeball into the air - watching as a quick light cracked it open and tossed out the glowing image that became Mewtwo. A command is given to Mewtwo and it lands, dealing a good deal of damage. Suddenly Henrik disappeared, forcing Mewtwo to stop in confusion as he looked around. Without warning, Henrik belly flopped from the sky and right onto the Pokemon - bouncing hard enough once to completely cracked the floor below them and bouncing once more back onto his feet. Three- that was three Pokemon down. This wasn’t good - this wasn’t good at all.

Candy was soaked at this point. Her body moved noiselessly with to it’s master’s breathing as her eyes darted around. But there was nothing there- nothing that would allow her to make an escape or help her defeat the thing before them. Finally, out of pure desperation, Candy just reached behind her and threw out her remaining pokeballs into the ring, setting free Gallade, Zekrom, and Aegislash all at once. She shouted, reaching out a hand at her commands as the Pokemon suddenly bolted forward. Landing attack after attack, causing as much damage as their level difference will allow them, but when it came to Henrik’s turn, each Pokemon was attacked and knocked out.

And then….. there were two. With her fallen teammates before her, Candy stared in shock across the battle field to watch and every one of her fallen comrades before returning to Henrik again. He was beaten, but still- just staring at Candy for a while before he slowly, but eventually, started to move forward.

Stomp…. stomp… stomp….

No…. Her eyes widened, slowly beginning to take some rather cautious steps of her own as the gamer moved back and away from the giant owl. Henrik just continued to drag himself forward, tilting from side to side as he did so. Eventually a cold metal stopped the girl from going any further when Candy finally had her back pressed against the entrance doors. This is it. This is how she’s gonna die. “Ya said ya’d protect me, thIS ISN’ PROTECTION JAMIE.“ Her team’s gone, she’s injured, and there’s no where to go…….. Why?

But, just when all hope seemed to be lost, suddenly, the giant Henrik began to tilt forward. He tried to move closer, but just as the gap between the two was turning right, Henrik suddenly fell face first onto the ground in defeat - his wings falling off of their unseen anchors and flopping onto the floor beside them.

And…. she stared. That’s it, just stared- Candy just stood frozen, back and hands pressing against the doors in confusion before another light suddenly shone down upon it. She tried to look up, but not even with the help of her hand could she see what laid beyond the bright rays. What….. did she….? Did she– win??? Was it….. Was it really over?

With the sudden realization, the gamer suddenly just threw her fists into the air and closed her eyes, a big grin spreading across her face as the camera pulled out to show her full figure. But just when she thought she was finally free from the clutches of an inevitable death, a giant, owl-shaped badge fell down form the sky’s light and on top of Candy with a CLANG.

“Looks like you win!!”

A surprise

While enjoying your day- or being worried over the motive, you hear an announcement over the entire island and ship, summoning you to the theatre once again. After the motive release, you feel a bit uneasy about stepping in that room, especially when Henrik is summoning you. But you make your way in, sitting down with your classmates.

Now that you’re all here, you may notice that one of you seems to be missing.

You and your class look around, then notice a certain blue girl missing.

Miss Candy has been causing us a little bit of trouble since the last trial and to keep her from causing anymore...

Without finishing the sentence, the screen flickers on as you watch...

This is the final count down.

This morning, there was no announcement about a moment. Just your standard, get up-- Strangely, there was no encouragement to join in for morning yoga. Everyone got up, went to the canteen for breakfast and then, suddenly, the bells chimed in late... 

After your meal, everyone is to be expected inside the the mini-cinema. 

You felt a knot in your gut. It was odd that suddenly the format had changed, but what else could surprise you at this point? A lot of your friends died, maybe even people you disliked, and that last trial was just... Awful. In many ways. 

You and the others haul to the mini-cinema, where you take your seats on the comfortable beanbags and wait in the dark... And the screen flickers on.

You thought he was dead, right? You knew there was a traitor, right? Did you know, that traitor, was none-other than... YASUEIGA ASASE? He’s still alive, craving redemption. Will you free him? Or let him die? You have questions. Yeah. You should. Do you know what to do for answers?

You couldn’t make out who the voice belonged to, it was distorted and all you saw was the screenwriter, tied up and possibly unconscious. You couldn’t tell- The video wasn’t very stable.

But what would you do now? A former friend has now been revealed to have been a traitor, there’s no telling what you could do to end his life or save him. Do you really know what to do in any case?

YASUEIGA ASASE HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY

COMMENCING EXECUTION

Commence Execution: “Grand Show! Asase Movie Night!”

Yasueiga Asase, the Super High-School Level Screenwriter who has been in charge of bringing several movies believed to be absolutely ‘dead’ to the world of the living by rising them higher than any star could ever reach. That same Yasueiga Asase has been found to be correctly guilty of Murder, and his reaction? Not a breakdown. If anything, the Screenwriter remains as calm as ever, an unreadable expression taking root in his facial features; almost like a mask of anonymity to keep his emotions hidden. It’s not like that matters much anyways. Before he has even time to speak to his peers, a trap door opens beneath the Screenwriter and yet… As he falls, not even his screams are heard… Asssuming of course, that he did indeed scream as he fell… Or was this a calculated reaction as well?

Darkness surrounds him and engulfs him for what he feels to be an eternity before the Screenwriter’s eyes finally snap open, his golden-colored eyes looking around to inspect the area he founds himself in… The scenery does not seem to stand out all too well. Everything except for Yasueiga himself is colored in white, black, and several shades of gray. Looming in the background is a large tower with several trees surrounding the ominous tower… Wait-- This scenario! If he remembers correctly this scenery is the exact replica of a remake he worked on a few months back!! The name’s movie, if he does remember correctly, apparently was “Sicko” and it featured a typical group of teenagers trapped in the woods as a supposed serial killer chases after them mercilessly with a chainsaw.

Hearing footsteps in the background, Yasueiga turns around to see an Augustus carrying a matching chainsaw and he immediately frowns, not losing his composure quite yet as he backs away a couple of steps before finally turning back to run away from the chainsaw-wielding Augustus who despite his small size is able to keep close to Yasueiga. Frightened but still maintaining his cool, Yasueiga dashes madly towards the tower before realizing there’s a door in front of it; is the scenery in this set-up not exactly similar to the original movie or the remake? It doesn’t matter much to him! As soon as he reaches the door, the raven-haired teenager yanks on the doorknob until it finally gives up and opens the door just before the Chainsaw-carrying black cat tears the chainsaw through the wooden door! While Augustus attempts to cut down the door, Yasueiga finds himself in a new area, one which is far more pleasing than the previous one!

Now in a lush, green field with occasional rocky formations around it, the Screenwriter is unable to come up with a logical explanation for this phenomenon! But nonetheless, as soon as he hears the chainsaw revving up a second time and mowing down the wooden door, panic sets into Yasueiga’s heart once again and he turns to run upwards towards the hills as fast as possible! Unfortunately for him, there seems to be no way out, as the hills end in a 200 feet drop to a body of water… And he knows even if he were to throw himself into the water, the water would not break until his body touches it and it would be a very painful way to go! Turning around to face the direction he came from to test if Agustus is coming back, Yasueiga finally loses his cool upon seeing a myriad of the mascot trio coming after him, each of them wielding different weapons of some kind and wearing torn clothing-- Ah! This must be from that movie he remade into a masterpiece as well, “Hunting Field!”

Now truly fearing for his safety, seeing only one more possibility to escape, Yasueiga smirks, waving goodbye to the three of them as he sees the only way out from a bloody, painful execution is to commit suicide by throwing himself head-first into the large body of water, specifically by colliding/stabbing himself on the spiky rocks lying below! But to his unfortunate surprise, after feeling like he’s been falling for far too long the Screenwriter opens his eyes, his pupils getting used to the dim light of the new room he founds himself in… Where… Where is he? As he looks around and his vision turns less blurry… Wait, this building… It’s familiar, too familiar! It is almost-- No, it is exactly the same building used in his very first movie, Morality Crusaders! Specifically, a very iconic scene in which one of the characters, in a drug-influenced delusion, mistakes his childhood friend for a murderer and knocks him out and binds him before torturing him for a prolonged amount of time while shouting profanities.

Fear finally begins to settle into the Screenwriter and he begins to shake and wriggle his body intensely only to realize he’s already been bounded! After a few seconds of struggling, Yasueiga finally hears faint steps approaching and in no less than a minute, a familiar figure carrying an equipment of tools appears. Knowing what happens after this scene considering he wrote the script for this movie generates enough shock for Yasueiga to pass out from the fear in the table.

By the time he wakes up and after being subjected to several other films he has remade, Yasueiga has become frantic and enters a panic with each passing minute until after finally making it through yet another remake he worked on he looks up, letting out a blood-curdling scream as he notices there’s a massive Bastien staring down at him, laughing as Yasueiga soon turns to look down to realize that he is now standing in what appears to be pages as large as the mascot itself!! Based on the form of the text he is able to realize that he is now tiny and standing in what appears to be a giant script! But before he even has time to process how everything ended this way, he is anti climatically killed by the giant Bastien after he forcibly closes the script, crushing Yasueiga between the pages.

Blood begins to drip from the newly-bloodstained pages as the massive red bird grabs and stamps the large script with massive red letters that read ‘REJECTED’ and finally ridding the world of cinematography of a terrible movie by not only destroying the paper but also of the Screenwriter who has the potential of making this movie from a pile of crap to a shining star in the sky by sliding the entire script in a massive paper shredder. Along the large pages, several limbs, organs and blood is thrown around by the shredder, making a bloody mess of the surrounding area as the lights turn off and a pair of never-before-seen curtains close themselves in front of Bastien as he begins to clean the mess without lights and a sign descends which reads “The END.”

The Super High-School Level Screenwriter - Yasueiga Asase has been executed.

You follow the owl’s instructions as you and your classmates make your way to the “trial room”, the place where you would find out once and for all who killed Hinata Kobyashi. The red parrot and black cat eye everyone intently and open the grand doors, lo and behold…

The trial room, with podiums surrounding a pool of lava and a small island in the middle. You remember what happened what happened to Letizia and Atsuko…
