A Lamp named Under Construction.
Distinctive Oil Rubbed Wood & Raw Steel Steampunk Lamp with Warm Yet Rugged Industrial Feel-Edison Bulb Glows Brightly
Lamp called Under Construction. Warm glowing wood set into circular raw steel frame is the setting for an Edison bulb. DruryLaneStudios.com or on Etsy.com
A Lamp called Gearworks. I took a large, 23", metal clock face and cut it into four sections. Mounted the sections onto a backer board and proceeded to add the the lamp holders, made from very large copper cable clamps and other items. You can still see the numbers from the clock through the additions. Gearsworks includes an output meter, permanently on overload, thermometer, sparkplugs, cables and yes, gears. Not just any gears. These are gears that I made myself. Made from wood. If I had used metal for the gears the entire artwork would probably weigh 40 pounds. This artwork is from heavily modified materials. The output meter (lower left) is made from 5 separate recycled pieces. The lamp holders are from silver plated goblets and brass candle holders with modified cable clamps holding them up. The condenser coil on the right side is made from Co2 cartridges. The upper most gear part is made from a large piece of wood that I hand cut. You get the idea. Lots of specialized pieces have come together to create Gearworks. My art involves a lot of work modifying the pieces and parts that go into making the whole a united environment. That's what it takes for me to create artwork that I can call my own
