And so Eve is born. She's the first of three characters that are connected and I'm hoping to tell their story over the next few weeks. I may do mini comics over time, but we shall see if I'm ready for that undertaking.
Anywho, Eve the tentacle succubus. She, with her two friends, are adventures who go from to dungeon to dungeon earning gold in the name of the Goddess of Judgement.
Y'all ever doodle in class and then suddenly you see the best anime style eye you've ever drawn after struggling with the style for years?
Something I find very interesting about this CEO assassination is that the guy who did it has basically become an American hero.
They're probably quite worried about what will happen when they catch this guy, especially with the level of public support he has. If they catch him alive and he gets to air his grievances, he could unite the entire country against the private healthcare system. It could go to trial and result in jury nullification, which would basically send a message to the American public that catching a rich body comes without consquences.
If they kill him to keep his mouth shut, I'd say people will burn cities to the ground, and it could potentially provoke even more anger against private health insurance. In a powder keg, it only takes one person lighting the match.
I know it sounds over the top, but a figurehead is a powerful thing, and that's what this shooter is. The rich understand it. That's why Blue Cross just magically decided they were going to pay for anesthesia again. Those dead-eyed psychopaths were going to take everything they could until someone shot that guy and that's the gospel truth.
Keep the hate fire burning. Watching their fear is the closest I've come to knowing joy since the Bush administration.
I have lived in fear for my whole life. It is your turn now. Deal with the America you lobbied for
Fantasies of Revolution
As we get daily news reports of the New York police trying to find the man that killed the United Healthcare CEO, Brian Thompson, we see a rising of the people. The unification of the lower class. The death of a man who has been the cause of countless lost lives is to the benefit of us all. The words "Deny" "Defend" "Defend" echo in our minds just as the shell casings did when they dropped to the ground. We can only hope that his fervor does not die down, though I fear it will. Syria has made its dictator flee. South Korea put a stop to tyranny before it ever began. Georgia is fighting to be heard by its government. France voted to remove their far-right prime minister.
With the incoming presidency of Donald Trump, we cannot falter now. This momentum cannot stop. We are the people. We are the employers of the politicians. Make them hear you. Deny their power. Defend the people. Depose the rulers. Vote them out. Fire them. Show them that you are angry.
Earlier this year, I wrote a short rant piece about getting my family to wake up from the delusions that the far-right were promising them. I never showed it to them because it was filled with anger that they would never listen to. Now I call to the words that were in my head for days on end, "Wake up. Get up." Do not let this momentum die. Companies are trying to hide who their upper level executive people are. They are scared of the people.
A cover of Les Mis's "Do You Hear the People Sing" by the.real.eden on tiktok has been particularly powerful for me. I've listened to it over and over. I hope that the politicians and wealthy hear the people sing the song of angry men. I hope we are loud enough. I fear that this is simply just accumulation of fantasies of revolution with nothing to back it up. I fear that this will become the "there are flowers blooming in Antarctica." I fear that this will become a left vs. right instead of the working vs. wealthy. The wealthy fear a coherent and unified working class for a reason. They fear unions. They fear us. They fear those willing to fight for what is right. Do not let this momentum die down. Do not let our angry cries be silenced.
College
One thing that I love about college being so different from high school, is the fact that the professors love what they are doing. I'm in early analytical philosophy right now and being taught by a man that loves this stuff. We're talking about Moore and sense-datum right now, and he just is so passionate about it. He may not agree with every philosopher we talk about, but the absolute passion he has about this topic is so refreshing.
I'm a junior right now so I've been in this for a while, but it never ceases to amaze me about the wonderful and genius people I am being taught by. These people are taking time out of their research to teach me about incredibly heavy and intense topics.
I went to a high school that had coaches for history teachers (we love being from the south *insert incredibly obvious sarcasm*). I will admit that the majority of my teachers were great, but they lack what my professors have. They lack the true love of their subject I think. I could tell that some of them loved it, but none of them had pure love for the things they were teaching. Maybe that had to do with the fact that they were teaching high schoolers who did not give a shit about the topics, but college is just something else.
Another thing is that the majority of my professors are fairly care free in their classroom. They don't worry about the admin coming after them and say what ever the fuck they want. Some quotes from my early analytical philosopher so far this semester:
"it was like receiving coal in your stocking" (about the election results that came out on his birthday)
"Damn. He's just a hoot" (about Moore)
mickey mouse is sad in court. The judge comes in and says, "Mr. Mouse I can't grant you a divorce because there is no evidence that Minnie mouse is crazy." and Mickey says, "I didn't said she was crazy. I said she was fucking goofy." (a joke to know the differences between sign and symbol in the tractatus)
“Don’t be economic majors. Be a a philosophy major. This is the only place you can save your soul”
“I may have been a little high”
When my husband wants to play a game that requires his mic to be on to avoid some monster or ghost, he distracts me so that I don't intentionally make too much noise.
This time, he bought me a new wine to try (sweet red blend: 10/10) and then gathered my stuff and set it on the bed. He set out my blanket and stuffed salmon with the pillows stacked to support my back. He also set up Stardew Valley on my laptop, ready for me to go. He even had me a glass of wine poured with the bottle by the bed.
Sure, he did it to distract me, but I love that he knows me so well and makes sure I feel remembered even if it is to keep me occupied.
I’m fully convinced that my play style of this sims came from how I played with my Barbies. I was the girl that was having an affair triangle going on or she’s a stripper trying to make it on tips to feed her three kids and dog at home. My Barbies didn’t live happy lives until they had adequate hardships and my sims get the same treatment.
