WHOMST else can make a silly little Instagram post that doesn’t even show his face and have ESPN and multiple other outlets writing stories within MINUTES and thanking god they’ll finally get some clicks and engagement but Daniel Ricciardo?
my phone thinks i’m in a relationship with daniel 🤭
Seeing these strong early showings from Hadjar this season my brain is going insane thinking about what Daniel could've done with this year's VCarb. 🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫
oh look another car developed by daniel only for him to be thrown aside 🫠🫠🫠
he has a name you know

thinking about that video of daniel's friends picking him up from the airport going "there she is! there's our girl!" when they see him. actually im never not thinking about it.
CHINESE GP 2025 - RACE DAY: Seems Toto fell off his scooter this afternoon whilst taking said phone call (mentioned in my previous posts) 😭
DR3Wines: My mates and I would say Enchante instead of cheers - you know, to sound a little sophisticated.
The more information comes out due to all these swaps the (slightly) clearer things start to appear.
If it's true that Red Bull wanted money for that 2nd seat and Daniel is the only one out, I think it's because Daniel refused to participate in this ridiculous shit show.
Daniel, the kid from Perth, who's parents could only afford to send him to Europe for 1 year, who didn't get paid by red bull until his first podium in 2014, who proved his worth again and again and again, against world champions, generational wonders, goats and all that shit, was never going to go beg for sponsors to buy a seat that was promised him. And I wholeheartedly respect that
it does seem there are parts of tumblr bending over backwards to forget liam came in and decided to fight his mother team's driver, a two time world champion, any strays in reach, the director of the union, helmut (who despite not loving checo did NOT like the flipping off thing) and apparently god himself. like sure kid, come in and have confidence but you can't make your personality 'cars and being an asshole' then wonder why people go 'damn...that kid is an asshole'. you do need to have some level of respect.
I did find it interesting last week though that Max Verstappen liked a comment from Giedo Van Der Garde on Instagram, in which Giedo said look this is this is all on Red Bull, you can't sack a guy after two races. Max Verstappen doesn't normally get involved in that way. Were you guys surprised to see that? I actually wasn't surprised because I think Max has a strong sense of right and wrong and he knows actually what matters for races and he can probably empathise, although he's never been in this position himself, he's seen this conveyor belt of drivers coming through the ranks. I think if you fail at Red Bull, to Lawrence's point, you don't fail everywhere. It's a very, very specific car with a very narrow operating window and for me the problem at Red Bull is layered. I think Christian Horner does actually care about the welfare of his drivers, there may be others that don't as much. But I think the problem is a complex one because I think the style of management is such that it is much more stick than carrot. I think their pool [of] talent has dried up. I think they didn't have the answers at the end of last year, or even throughout last year. They didn't have an answer to Checo. They were looking around. They rushed the decision about Daniel, which was handled really badly. They pushed Liam in, Liam himself told me that if they hadn't have done that he would have been off. He said, "look I've told them I'm not hanging about if I don't get the chance now I've waited long enough." So he became more assertive and his driving backed that up [and] that was evidenced by some strong showings in the Racing Bull and then he steps up to this team. But I just think that you need to, if I was in the management of Red Bull and I'm not and it's a much harder job than it looks, you need to strip it all back and build from the bottom up again, and you need to have a long hard look as to how you nurture talent.
