dual destinies is such a weird beast structurally. its very specifically written around the fact that there's 3 protagonists that you get to play and explore the thoughts of, but the fact that there's no locked in protag guts it a lot.
especially since... 5-2 and 5-3 don't really do much to develop the overarching narrative in service of the finale outside of try to enforce a form of friendship between the three protags (especially athena and apollo) and drops bit about athena's backstory (5-2 particular is such a nothing burger)
i feel like dual destinies could really have benefited from a single protag (athena preferably) with the other two lawyers cycling in and out of weird girl position. but then you run across the elephant in the room of 5-5 where she can't be the lawyer. but then its the same argument for apollo. but then i'd eat my hat over letting nick stay out of a strict mentor role (which he should have for this game outside of 5-5)
with this in mind the only other solution would be to just. write more i guess. or like try to get further into the characters thoughts and delegate more time to developing their friendships or build up better to stuff like. literally everything apollo does in 5-5. because then you can at least better feel everything they're talking about.
because genuinely i think my problem with this game in its entirety is the fact that i feel so detached from whats going on in this game and i think thats mostly due to do how dual destinies writes its pov switches... it really makes me wish for a single pov athena game even more.
