Living under a roof top with parents who were constantly arguing is no life for any child. All it does is traumatizes the children, or child in this case, to push love away in their life. All her life Danica would hear the screams, and shouts of her stepfather and mother from the stairwell. Days, and nights would go on and the feuds never ended. Some mornings she would wake up to find her stepfather sitting at the kitchen table eating his breakfast, and her mother no where to be found. Then at nights her stepfather would not get home till 2AM, and her mother crying herself to sleep.
She never understood how two people who loved each other could live in such a way. Eventually she found out that her stepfather had been cheating on her mother for the most part of their relationship. Danica couldn’t understand why he could do such a thing, and that is where it all started. Danica told herself she could never fall for someone if this would be the only outcome. She was afraid, afraid to fall, and get hurt, because she didn’t want to end up like her parents.
One day, however, her mother never did come back. All that was left was a note on her nightstand, and her stepfather throwing a fit in the morning. For weeks Danica would hide in her room, until her father would fall asleep at night. It was one day when she was walking home from school, slower than usual, and a monster came from the trees. It attacked, and all she felt was fear, and a sensation of death. A daughter of Eros named Narcissa appeared, saved her, and took her to camp.
At Camp Half-Blood, Danica eventually came to realize she too was a daughter of Eros. But unlike Narcissa, or the rest of her siblings, Danica hated it. She didn’t believe in love like they did, or saw the beauty in the world. Instead she made a name for herself. Danica doesn’t believe in true love, and believes every relationship will end in hate. But honestly, she is only afraid of falling and ending up like her parents. So she has one night stands, but if a boy tries to approach her, the angel face disappears and she snaps at them.
Many like her father, and Aphrodite have tried to change her perspective but so far none have succeeded. It will take one special exception to do this, but Danica refuses to give in. The vow to never fall in love with someone, is as a strong of a vow like the vow of the Hunt.
1 — Her favorite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany’s, but she never watches the second half of it because she knows that Holly would eventually end up happy and in love.
2 — She was never asked to join the Hunt since Aphrodite forbade Artemis to do so.
3 — She lives for pasta and rice, but not together.
