ââThen Iâm more than willinâ to help.â
âSamuel. Sam. Thanks.â
"Nice to meet you," Daniel said to Sam as he tossed him a cold beer. "So what do you do for a living?" It was a polite conversation that Daniel was trying to make.
âSure, but itâll probably be a long case. I wonât be back their until around sevenish at the earliest.â Dia smiled at him. âThank you, Daniel, youâre a good man.â
"Okay. Um - Do you just want my number so you can call me when you're there?" Daniel asked as she grabbed his iPhone out of his back pocket. He couldn't help, but to smile at Dia nice comment. "With all the shit my family does... I though it would be about time someone tries to make up for it."
âAnd how much will that be?â Daniel asked as he leaned forward in his chair, pushing his empty coffee cup out of the way. Money was not a worry for him, or for his family. Why not use his money for something good while he lived.Â
âTheir rentâs about $550 a month,â Dia told him
"Done." Daniel told her, as he leaned back in the chair. "I can stop by your office later to give you the money."
âOh please, I have adventures that you donât even know about.â Raegan snorted, her arm moving around his waist as he threw his over her shoulders, and started to walk. âYou think I donât know that?â Raegan murmured, rolling her eyes. âYour family has been my family for what, seven years now? I get the gist of it all, Danny boy.â She let out a little tinkle of a laugh at the mention of Daisy. âYou wished she liked you like that.â Raegan joked.Â
âHmm⊠care to enlighten me on these so called little adventures that you have.â Daniel teased Raegan as he felt her arm moving around his waist. âBecause you know, secrets donât make friends.â He added with a laugh. Their lives were full of secrets and lies. Daniel faked a hurt expression as he out his free hand over his heart. âHey you never know⊠It could happened!â
âSheâd probably kill me if I ever tried to kiss her,â Daniel said after a moment.
âWell, I could be doing with something a bit stronger, but Iâll take it.â
"Good, because I really don't want to drink all of these."
"Daniel." He told the man as he gave him a beer.
It was Grace. He felt like he could breathe again. For a moment Daniel thought it was someone here to kill him. The weed was making him paranoid â oh so paranoid, but this was Grace. She would never betray him. Slowly the brunette solider raised his hand up in the air as...
Daniel was shock. He couldnât understand why his sister did this. There was only one question on his mind and that was why. He did voice it though. He knew that over time Grace will tell him what she got herself into. âI really donât claim her as my sister,â The brunette admitted. Hell, he barely claim any one of his family. Â
When she asked about the weed and whiskey, his eye roamed over to the half empty and the weed that was carelessly left out on his glass coffee table. Could he tell her? Should he tell her? It looked like Grace was already over her head with Alex and whatever pissed her off. His mouth opened, but nothing came out. Have you ever had so much to say that your mouth closed up tight struggling to harness the nuclear force coalescing within your words? Have you ever had so many thoughts churning inside you that you didnât dare let them escape in case they blew you wide open? Have you ever been so angry that you couldnât look in the mirror for fear of finding the face of evil glaring back at you? Â Well thatâs how Daniel felt. He like he was going crazy and the only way to stop himself from going completely insane was with alcohol and drugs.
âIâm just enjoying the good life before my time runs out.â His voice rough from all the weed heâs smoke today. Daniel knew it was coming though â the end. It was only a matter of time before Alex or Anna found out what he did. Â He finally tore his eyes from the bottle of whiskey to look at Grace. God, they were both fucked. I might as well tell her before someone else does, he thought to himself as his hand grabbed the bottle and took a swig of it.
âI killed my father.â Daniel avoid Graceâs eye as he told her this. He knew he was putting her in danger by telling her, but it felt so good to finally get it off of his chest. Was he being self-centered? Probably, but he need to tell somebody who wouldnât end up killing him. Grace was his best friend â his family. âGod. I fucked up⊠I went too far⊠I know this. I â I didnât know that they would the place up.â He was unable to close his month. Words just kept pouring out of him. âIf anyone in Cacciatore finds out, Iâm dead, Grace. Dead.â
Christian was fuming as he dialed the number. He was only listening to the ringing on the other end, waiting to give this woman hell. âHello?â Answered a very male voice answered. His mind went blank. âUh hi there, is this the number of a blonde woman? Tall? Thin?â There was a pause. âNope, this is my phone.â Answered the man. Christian silently cursed. âThanks anyways.â He muttered quickly, hanging up before the man could respond. He slowly turned back to the stranger on his couch. âThe bitch gave me a fake number.â
He knew this situation wasnât funny, but Daniel couldnât help, but to chuckle a little. âThat sneaky bitch.â Running a hand through his brunette hair, an idea came to him. âI may know someone that could help.â Without waiting for a responds from Chris, Daniel went through his contracted list until he came across the name Daisy Lennox. There was a very good chance that she was sleeping or still drunk, but she was the best at finding people.
âDaisy?â Daniel paused as he listened to her talk. âYes I know what time it is, but I need a favorite.â Another pause. âThere was this blonde woman from last nightâs charity event⊠stole money from a friend.â His eyes flickered to Chris as he gave him a thumbs up. âGreat! Iâll send up a picture of her. I owe you one.â
âOkay.â Ana called down. She tightened her grip on the fluttering shirt, freeing it completely from the tangled branches. âReady.â She called. She could feel her fingers slipping slightly from the branches and a small yelp felt her lips. âYeah, Iâm really ready now!.â She said, panic creeping into her voice.Â
As fast and as safe as Daniel could, he lowered Ana back onto his shoulders. âOkay Iâm going to lower us to the ground now.â He voiced, hoping that she wasnât having a panic attack. He slowly got down on his knees with his right hand against the tree for balance. âAnytime youâre ready to get down.â Daniel said with a big smile on his face.
âI donât know. I mean, even when I get them the money their owed itâll take a while to process. And theyâll be well over due rent by then. Plus my fees, and Iâm doing all I can to cut the price down, but I canât work for free, that voids the confidentiality agreement, and itâs not exactly the way to keep business going. Thing are going to be tight for them until the money comes through, and even then, with the cost of living the money might not last all that long. What they really need is a few months, at least, not worrying about rent.âÂ
âAnd how much will that be?â Daniel asked as he leaned forward in his chair, pushing his empty coffee cup out of the way. Money was not a worry for him, or for his family. Why not use his money for something good while he lived.Â
"You're in luck... I have extra beer. "
Iâm all for being lazy, especially if itâs this early, but coffeeâs probably the only thing I wonât shirk on. This might honestly be the worst cup Iâve ever had.
"Well I know a great little café." Daniel told her. "I can show you if you don't mind the walk."

It seems like he was always high these days. High on pills, booze and weed. Isolating himself as well; away from his family and friends and his so-called friends, who are just itching for him to mess up so they could take his spot in the Cacciatore Mafia. How...
It was Grace. He felt like he could breathe again. For a moment Daniel thought it was someone here to kill him. The weed was making him paranoid â oh so paranoid, but this was Grace. She would never betray him. Slowly the brunette solider raised his hand up in the air as he said âOn the living room floor.â He took another hit of his joint, slowly letting the drug hit this body. This was some good ass weed. âThereâs sushi in the refrigerator⊠from lunch today. â The smoke escaped through his lips. âBut the weed and whiskey are in here.â God, he even sounded fucking high.
Slowly sitting up, Daniel eyes stayed glued to a picture sitting across his living room. It was a picture of his father and him at some charity event. Daniel couldnât remember the name of the charity, but he did noticed he and his father had the same smile. Even dead his father was still everywhere staring at him, judging him, pushing to be the best. He wanted to break the picture frame and burn the picture. The guilt was a eating Daniel alive as the days went on.Â
"I'm glad you came," He told Grace after he finally looked away from the picture. When Daniel first saw Grace's face, he had to do a doubt take. "What the fuck happened?" He quickly jumped up to a standing position. "Who did this? I will fucking kill them!"
âI think the tree will,â Daniel joked.
âOkayâŠOne,â Daniel told Ana as he put both of his hands under her feet - cupping them in a way. âTwo.â He said a moment later as he stood two inches from the tree, so Ana could use the tree to help herself up. âThree.â As the word left his mouth, he slowly lifted Ana up toward his shirt.
A small squeal left Anaâs lips as she felt herself being lifted even higher into the air. She kept her body rigid, trying to keep herself from tipping over. Looking up, Ana could see the white shirt coming closer to her, fluttering lightly in the wind. Ana reached her hands up, grasping one of the tree branches. Holding herself up by the branch now, Ana looked around. The shirt was just inches from her now. âOkay, okay. I think iâm good now.  Iâm going to try to grab the shirt and toss it down.â
"Or you could just hang onto it as I lower you to the ground." He was thinking that it would be safer for her. "Just let me know when you're ready and I will lower you back to my shoulders then to the ground."
Diayu looked up from her notes. âNo,â she said with a small smile. âCurrently your family donât need my actual legal expertise, well no in this way anyway. This is to try and save a single mother and her two children under the age of five ending up on the streets.âÂ
"Is there anything that I can do to help the family?" Daniel asked before he finished off his cup of coffee. He always wished that his family would do more for the people that lived in Brooklyn.
âI would do it. She could have tried to steal our wallets or some shit.â After the words left his mouth, Daniel shot up from the couch and check his wallet. âIâm good. You?â Not one thing was missing from his wallet.
Christian looked at the manâs cellphone. âGoddammit. Teach me to get drunk.â he muttered, growing more and more pissed.Â
âGod if she didâŠâ his voice trailed off as he searched for his wallet. âYeah yeah, here it is!â He opened his wallet quickly. âOkay, my ID, my licenseâŠbut no cash.â
"Bitch." Daniel mumbled under his breath. "Fucking call her."Â he keep going through his pictures to see if there was anymore clues, but there wasn't. "If she put her last name in your cellphone we could track her down,"
âWould you believe that I lost my earring in this warehouse?â
Daniel set his papers down and looked up at the women as he said "That's pretty hard to believe since this warehouse hasn't been open in about five years. "What's your name?"
Iâll never understand why the hell itâs so hard to get a good cup of coffee.
"It's because people are lazy as fuck around here." Daniel said with smirk.
