“Don’t ask – I probably wouldn’t be able to explain if you did.”
“Well, that certainly is unfortunate.”
“Hmm… care to enlighten me on these so called little adventures that you have.” Daniel teased Raegan as he felt her arm moving around his waist. “Because you know, secrets don’t make friends.” He added with a laugh. Their lives were full of secrets and lies. Daniel faked a hurt expression as he out his free hand over his heart. “Hey you never know… It could happened!”
“She’d probably kill me if I ever tried to kiss her,” Daniel said after a moment.
“Nope, they’re for me to know and for you to probably never find out.” Raegan grinned at him, nudging him with a snort. Secrets had built her this new life, she was no longer the abandoned daughter, but much more; a soldier. A fighter. “Secrets make everything,” she countered with a smirk, rolling her eyes at his faux hurt expression. “Oh put a sock in it, you’re not Romeo.”
Raegan made an agreeing hum, “she probably would. But then again, she probably couldn’t hurt your pretty face.”
“What’s your posion?”
“Anything with vodka.”
“I’m happy to buy you a drink if you want. And then you get the pleasure of my company.”
“Now that is a pretty solid deal, I’ll happily oblige.”
“Don’t be jealous that I have more adventures then you.” Daniel joked. “And when they do work things out… I’ll stop.” He walked over to Raegan and threw his left arm over her tiny shoulders. “I can never truly be in a real relationship with this kind of life unless I date someone who’s in the mafia.” And that was the last thing Daniel wanted. “And I don’t think Daisy likes me in that way…” He joked.
“Yes free food. Where shall we go eat?”
“Oh please, I have adventures that you don’t even know about.” Raegan snorted, her arm moving around his waist as he threw his over her shoulders, and started to walk. “You think I don’t know that?” Raegan murmured, rolling her eyes. “Your family has been my family for what, seven years now? I get the gist of it all, Danny boy.” She let out a little tinkle of a laugh at the mention of Daisy. “You wished she liked you like that.” Raegan joked.
“Please. I have plenty of class…. More than you,” Daniel joked along with Raegan as he winked at her. “And their marriage isn’t a happy one. Her husband cheated on her first and is still cheating on her. I’m just helping her even the playing fields a little.”
“Wanna grab something to eat? I’ll buy.” Daniel voiced as he tugged on his shoes.
Rae threw the middle finger up at him and gave him a look, before a smile swept across her lips. “Says the guy putting on his clothes outside after someone’s husband came home, yeah, okay Mr. More class than Raegan.” She rolled her eyes. “Yeah - but still, they could work it out.”
“Free food? Hell yeah, there’s nothing more that I love than free food.”
Sure, take a cookie how did you even get in here?
“Always a charmer, Raegan. Don’t start something you can’t finish, mkay sweetheart?”
“We both know I always finish what I start, Lennon.”
“Yeah – so is it just your way to physically threaten anyone that does even the slightest thing to displease you?”
“If I was already pissed off, then yes. Highly effective.”
“Well this fucking awkward….” Daniel joked as he pull his shirt over his head. “Her husband came home early..”
Raegan rolled her eyes at Daniel’s antics, looking away as he dressed himself. “Honestly, it’s like you have no class.” She joked, sending him a grin. “But seriously. Her husband? Daniel, she was a married woman! You might’ve ruined a perfectly happy marriage.”
Daniel Daniel, what the fuck?
“Then I’d suggest being more careful in the future.”
“A suggestion I’ll be sure to remember. Again, I’m sorry.”
“Oh – shit, sorry. Duly noted.”
“Good. That’s great; glad we sorted this.”
“Woah, I’m sorry. I was just going to ask if you were ready to order.”
“Does it look like I’m ready? no. Few more minutes, please.”
“I’d watch your mouth, if I was you.”
“Shit didn’t know it was you, Anna.”
“Wrong person. Shit.”
“You need to lay off, okay? Before I break every bone in your fucking body.”
