Ellen Degeneres denies she’s Racist
https://youtu.be/QXUjxAMvKAE
What was meant as a joke about Usain Bolt and Ellen DeGeneres swiftly went awry on Twitter.
On Monday, the daytime talk show host's official Twitter account tweeted a doctored image of Ellen riding the back of the gold medalist.
The photo is the now famous one of him smiling as he heads to winning the men's 100m race at the Olympics in Rio.
Ellen went on to defend herself after being accused of racism as she was slammed on Twitter when viewers saw how she tweeted a Photoshopped picture of herself riding on Olympian Usain Bolt’s back on Monday, August 15.
“This is how I’m running errands from now on” Ellen tweeted along with the edited image of Usain at the Olympics. The original picture of the gold medalist was taken Sunday, August 14, and went viral as he appears to be smiling while looking back at his opponents during the men’s 100-meter semifinals. He finished the race in 9.86 seconds and went on to win the gold in the finals Monday.
“I am highly aware of the racism that exists in our country,” she tweeted. “It is the furthest thing from who I am.”
Bolt, who is considered the fastest man in the world, seemingly wasn’t bothered by the meme as he retweeted DeGeneres’ tweet with the photo.
The Ellen Show initially followed the first tweet with one featuring a video of Bolt's appearance on the show where Bolt raced a then 8-year-old viral video star, Demarjay Smith.
Like Bolt, Smith is Jamaican. The youngster acts as a personal trainer for other kids and told the talk show host he believed he could beat the champion in a race.
"Heres something you don't see very often-@UsainBolt losing a race. This was 1 of my favorite moments from last season," Ellen's tweet said.

Why I think this video has viral S.P.A.R.K.
https://youtu.be/aLTIiMrDCAg
This is the story of a 12-year-old girl who likes to hunt big game with her father and recently it has sparked an online firestorm after she post photos of herself online posing with a giraffe and a zebra that she killed while she was in a hunting trip to Africa accompanied with her father. After traveling from Utah to South Africa for a hunting trip last week, Aryanna and her father, Eli Gourdi told reporters that she posted a photo on Facebook of her posing next to the dead zebra with a bow and arrow, along with a caption that read, "One of my dream hunts for sure."
"It's something I cherish and enjoy, and I want other people to see what I experienced," as she appeared yesterday Tuesday,August 16,2016 in a live interview with "Good Morning America".The duo had been in other adventures like this in the past without anyone noticing but this time her Facebook postings quickly made her a topic of heated discussion. One photo received over 73,000 comments,as some users say she is really "sick" while others say she is an "animal hater" but that did not go without other supporters who counteracted by posting encouraging messages which included one that reads, "Let the haters hate! Hunt away Aryanna."
Aryanna is now feeling the heat as she acknowledges that her last profile picture was very offensive to others and she had learned her lesson with that pose as she goes on to apologize to the public. What is critical in this whole issue is the numerous threat to their lives that Aryanna and her father continues to receive from some people. "We're proud to be hunters, and we'll never apologize for being a hunter," Gourdin,Aryanna’s father made it clear. He maintained that the hunting farm they visited offered the giraffe to for them to hunt because it was a problem animal. "They actually had an older giraffe that was eating up valuable resources other giraffes need to survive," he said.He also said that the meat from the animals they killed was donated to a local village and will help feed 800 orphans over the next month. Despite the controversy, Aryanna said, she doesn't plan to give up one of her favorite activities.
"I would never back down from hunting," she said. "I am a hunter, and no matter what people say to me, I'm never going to stop."

Dr Sanjay Gupta In Action
Does a Journalist's Social Media Feed Affect or Predict News Coverage?
The Journalist of my choice is Dr. Sanjay Gupta:
He is the multiple Emmy award winning chief medical correspondent for CNN. Gupta,a practicing neurosurgeon, plays an integral role in CNN reporting on health and medical news for all of CNN's shows domestically and internationally, and contributes to CNN.com. His medical training and public health policy experience distinguishes his reporting from war zones and natural disasters, as well as on a range of medical and scientific topics, including the recent Ebola outbreak, brain injury, disaster recovery, health care reform, fitness, military medicine, and HIV/AIDS.
Does the journalist use Twitter for reporting, personal use, or both?
I do not think that he uses Twitter for his personal use,he does it more for the public.Gupta's passion for inspiring Americans to lead healthier, more active lives led him to launch "Fit Nation," CNN's multi-platform anti-obesity initiative. In 2009, "Fit Nation" followed the progress of Gupta and six CNN viewers as they inspired each other while training for a triathlon. The program is now in its sixth year.
Based on his/her number of followers, do you think the journalist has a strong following?
Yes I think he does because he contributes to the CBS newsmagazine 60 Minutes. He is the author of three New York Times best-selling books, Chasing Life (2007), Cheating Death (2009) and Monday Mornings (2012).In 2003,he was named one of PEOPLE magazine's "Sexiest Men Alive" and a "pop culture icon" by USA Today. That same year, he also won the Humanitarian Award from the National Press Photographers Association. In 2004, the Atlanta Press Club named him "Journalist of the Year" and in 2009, he won both the first Health Communications Achievement Award from the American Medical Association's Medical Communications Conference and the Mickey Leland Humanitarian Award from the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC),etc, etc.
Does the journalist's Twitter feed indicate any type of bias in his or her reporting?
The way the world is today, one can never please or satisfy everyone. When journalists do present reports sometimes there are viewers who like it and some do not so it is 50/50.
Do you think the journalist's use of social media enhances his or her reporting?
With the presence of Social Media,it has become one of the best outlet of news broadcast that is attracting a lot of audience so I think it is his best means to send his message across.
Give an example of a tweet that helped shape a news story he/she was reporting or covering.
One example of his tweet is his report on the healthcare system of Cuba.He traveled to Havana to learn more about the healthcare system of that country. He describe how despite being one of the poorest countries in the world, Cuba's healthcare has a lot to offer the medical field. The rest can be seen from the link below-

Florida Disputes Trump Assertion about Dishonest Voting
Saturday, 12 Mar 2016 06:
Florida election officials on Saturday pushed back against assertions by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump that there was "dishonest early voting" going on in the state.
Trump said on Twitter that his campaign was asking law enforcement to look into problems with early voting, but Meredith Beatrice, speaking for Florida's secretary of state, said election officials had not heard of any such problems and had received no formal complaints.
Trump, the GOP front-runner, also said on Twitter that he had heard that some Republicans may be trying to "rig the vote" for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio in Tuesday's big presidential primaries. His campaign has not provided any examples of dishonest voting.

Wadi Gatan, a spokesman for the Florida Republican Party, said the party also was unaware of early-voting irregularities.
The outcome of Florida's winner-take-all primary is crucial for Rubio's prospects for staying in the 2016 race.
