Ivy raised an eyebrow up at Daniel when he explained to her why the boy looked like a deer in the head-lights. “He does?” She said playfully, smiling at the boy. “It’s fine, I was the same way when I was his age.” Ivy backed up a bit, giving him some room. “You know sometimes, we need help up at the news station, especially with the weather and you know what, you’d be such a big help. Do you think you could keep an eye on the weather for me today?” She smiled warmly at Kolby. “I’ll tell my boss and we’ll put it on the T.V so everyone knows the weather. You’ll be like Superman.”
Ivy stood up to Daniel’s level. “He’s a sweetheart.” It was the strangest thing, thinking about how in some other world that could’ve been their kid with the curly brown hair playing by the river. Their kid. “So, he’s interested in the news huh? That’s a uh- unique interest for a kid.”
“Yeah, well, he’s...He’s really mature for his age,” Daniel felt his cheeks blush. Nearly twenty-six years old, having known Ivy Crowley for well over a decade, and still she could make him blush. He ran a hand over his face to distract, clearing his throat. “Plus, I mean, the kid has an affliction for pretty women like his father, so can you really blame him?”
