what depression is really like:

not showering regularly

not bushing your teeth regularly

living in filth

caring about your grades but not enough to do anything about them

thinking about suicide more than graduating

considering suicide whenever any problem arises

tired

no motivation

no energy

walking is so hard

sometimes even talking is too much work because you’re so god damn tired

laying in bed for hours because you’re too tired to move

feeling nothing but sometimes everything

knowing you’re not alone but still feeling alone

that constant mindset of, “Who cares? I wont be around much longer anyways.”

That’s kind of what makes the whole scenario kind of spooky because that wasn’t the intention deliberately. When we wrote the song it was more about any kind of hardship in life and it’s kind of saying don’t feel sorry for yourself, keep fighting, keep strong. So actually those two kind of fell into place and that made the song more personal for me. I was motivated by my mum and I had a conversation with her and I said I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to do it and she said I had to do it. So, it was with that it kind of helped me, motivated me and I was like yeah, I’ve gotta do this now and that’s what I did.
