AEROLYN.

Aerolyn smiled at the look on her girlfriend’s face, her heart skipping a beat. She was so in love with the girl, she wasn’t sure that she would ever even be able to express the way that Dani made her feel. Not that it really mattered. As long as Dani knew that she loved her, that was all that mattered. Plus, the important people in their lives knew how serious the two of them were.

She furrowed her eyebrows as the girl said that she was going to have to blindfold her and she tilted her head to the side. Aerolyn leaned in to press her lips against Dani’s once more before pulling back. “I trust you more than anyone. You can blindfold me if that’s part of your surprise.”

          the kiss felt impossibly short,  her lips craving the feeling of her girlfriend’s the second they were gone.  pulling back with a slight pout,  she took just another moment to look at her   —-  the woman of her dreams,  the one she had every intention on being with until the end of time.  aerolyn pearce was it for her,  and with that came such a satisfying feeling.

          “how about I don’t blindfold you just yet?  just  ...  just sit over there,  with you back towards our room.  and when I’m done changing,  I’ll come out and blindfold you.”  dani leaned in,  pressing one more quick kiss against aerolyn’s lips before heading off towards their room.

                                           she’d had this planned for a while.

          it didn’t take long to find the outfit she’d had in mind   —-  the same black pants,  the same white top that left little to the imagination.  in a matter of minutes,  she managed to recreate the exact same outfit she’d worn on their first date   —-  the only thing missing was her long blonde hair with its blue ends.  even thinking about it made her smile.  she opened the top drawer of her dresser,  pulling out the box that she had kept there since their anniversary dinner.  slipping it into her bag,  the submissive ventured back into the living room.

                                               “alright   —-   you ready for this?”

AEROLYN.

           aerolyn groaned at her girlfriend’s words, shaking her head slightly and dropping her forehead against her girlfriend’s. she should have known that dani wouldn’t be open about what they were going to be doing that night, but that didn’t stop aerolyn from trying. though the same could be said when the situation was reversed and it was aerolyn who had planned something.

           aerolyn smiled, her nose wrinkling in a familiar fashion when dani said that she looked perfect in her lazy clothes. at one point, aerolyn would’ve scoffed at a compliment like that and would have been sure that the person was lying; but she’d come a long way in the past few years.

              “okay, okay. no more questions.” aerolyn agreed, pressing a kiss to dani’s cheek               before she stepped back. “i’m gonna go change into something else. i won’t be long.”

          "Perfect," Dani breathed out with a smile, thankful that her girlfriend hadn't fought her too hard. She didn't mind the questions -- if it were anyone else, she generally was like a vault, locked up tight. But if Aerolyn kept looking at her with those gorgeous blue eyes, Dani knew that it would only be a matter of time until she caved. Which, considering what she had planned for their evening, was not something that she wanted to happen.

          "I actually have to change too. It's part of the whole 'surprise' thing. But it also means I'm going to have to like, blindfold you or something." She snorted, refusing to let go for just a second longer. "Would you be cool with that? It's not a big deal, I could probably just leave that part out."

Aerolyn.

            aerolyn laughed lightly at her girlfriend’s words and nodded her head in agreement. if there was one thing that she was glad they hadn’t lost..it was their ability to be stupid funny with one another; without the fear of having someone judge them. especially because aerolyn often found herself making a complete and utter fool out of herself.

            as arms wound around her waist, aerolyn’s own arms lifted to slide around dani’s neck, lightly dragging her fingers through her hair. her eyes fell shut as she slipped into the soft and familiar feel of dani’s lips against her own, a pout fitting itself upon her lips as dani pulled back way too soon in her opinion.

                  “i love you too, pretty girl.”

            she hummed in response to dani’s words, her eyes flickering over her girlfriend’s features. “and what are we going to be doing on this cute date night?” aerolyn questioned, glancing down at the sweats and old theater shirt that she was wearing.

          “it’s a surprise, aerolyn pearce. I can’t just tell you my brilliant ideas -- where’s the fun in that?” she bit down on her bottom lip as she watched her girlfriend’s eyes travel down to her own outfit, a smile breaking out on her face just moments later. “you look perfect in that, just so you’re aware -- but I do plan on taking you out of this apartment. that’s all I’m telling you.”

          what she had in mind was classic dani, borderline sappy. scratch that -- it definitely was going to be sappy. especially considering what she planned on doing during this date night.

                   “don’t question it, okay? just let me treat you to a really special night.”

                   a night that she hoped would go just as perfectly as it did in her mind.

Aerolyn.

         her relationship with dani has gone through many ups and downs. during their relationship aerolyn had both felt like her heart could not be more full with love, but also that her heart could not break any more harshly. but they’d made it through each and every obstacle that had been put in their path.

                                               and aerolyn could not be more proud of that accomplishment.

         hearing her girlfriend’s voice breaking through the silence of their apartment up until that point, aerolyn rolled off of the bed, her feet hitting the ground with a bit of a thump. she let out an amused laugh as she heard the pitter patter of tiny paws running through their apartment to greet dani as she placed the book that she’d been reading down onto the bedside table.

                       stepping out of the bedroom and towards the front of their apartment, she                        smiled at the sight of her girlfriend and finished crossing the distance between them.

                                               “hey, gorgeous. fancy meeting you here.”

          bright eyes scanned the room, landing on her girlfriend within seconds of hearing her voice. the smile that had been on her face only grew the second that aerolyn came into view. “right? it’s almost like I live here or something.” she said with a snort, automatically wrapping her arms around her girlfriend’s waist.

          just touching her, dani could already feel the excitement rising in her stomach. her decision had been made that morning, and now she couldn’t of been more sure that it was the right thing to do. leaning forward, she pressed a soft kiss against aerolyn’s lips.

          “I love you, you know that?” dani tilted her head to the side, her smile turning mischievous. “and there’s been something on my mind that...that I wanna talk to you about. not here though, okay? I was thinking that we have ourselves a cute date night. Like, right now.”

          from the moment that she woke up that morning, she knew. it was almost the same way she’d felt years before...almost; except she wasn’t cycling, she wasn’t spinning out of control. this wasn’t some brilliant idea she’d come up with in the middle of a manic episode -- her heart was in the same place, sure, but she wasn’t that girl anymore: she’d gotten down on one knee, popped the question, and felt her entire world shift a little bit when the answer was no.

                                                    but things were different now.

          for one thing, their relationship was so much stronger. while there was no ring on either of their fingers, there was still that promise of forever. dani had told aerolyn to keep it, to give it back when she was ready one day -- and she had. on their one year anniversary, it’d been returned to her. a normal person might have proposed then and there, but dani hadn’t. she’d held onto it for almost another year. 

but now she was ready. she was ready to take the plunge, to ask the woman she loved more than anyone in the world to be her better half for the rest of their lives. 

                “hey,” she called out softly, pushing open the door to their apartment.                  immediately she was greeted by their furry babies, bringing a giant                  grin to her face. “babe, are you home?”

You know what? We made it out of Roselle. We made it through the toughest, most ridiculous schooling I’ve ever encountered and maybe we came out of it all a little scarred but not broken. And I am going to spend the rest of my life asking myself just how I got so incredibly lucky.

Add it to the list of many, many reasons. I’m going to confess something to you right now- don’t laugh at me though, okay?

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and for the briefest of moments I panic that somehow I’m going to mess everything up again. That maybe I’ll slip into another episode and ruin it again. But then I look at you- look at how peaceful you are when you’re sleeping- and it calms me down. You’re the calm in the crazy storm that is my life. You have been since day one, and when I look at you while you’re sleeping I know with every fiber of my being that you’re always going to be my calm. You’re the girl I’ve waited my whole life for. You’re my soulmate.

I’d like to carry…but I mean…adoption is an amazing option as well. I think it’s definitely something that we’re going to have to talk about before we have a definitive answer.

I kind of want to do both- why not offer some kid who doesn’t have that kind of love and support nothing but love and support? Definitely something we’ll talk about later down the line...but I like knowing where your head is.
