How did you go about writing the Fingernail Floss cast? Or did you just make them up as you went along? They're my favorite cast of characters ever I love them all so much

Me and co-writer vicen_non were preparing to make the game by writing down our ideas in a google doc while in a call together. We settled on 4-5 characters and just began writing , one was a business man, one was a sensitive girl, one was a smartass, and the other was just a guy. Also there's a house.

After that we just began writing as we went along. The characters were all meant to contrast one another and we started with general archetypes, we simply went from there.

I'd say they're all at least vaguely based on my life experiences, I related to all of them in a way. Having all the characters be so different from one another was important to create conflict for the story. The entire story was improvised cuz we had such a tight deadline for the GameJam. I guess they essentially wrote themselves? But that's just my side of the story, me and Vicen_non took turns writing the different trials and provided edits/feedback for one another.

I'd say the characters were thrown in a situation and they just wrote themselves from there.
