❤️ Exodus 20:20 And Moses said unto the people, “Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that His fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.” Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge. There is a proper place for fear in the life of a believer, and there is also an improper place for fear in the life of a believer. An improperly placed fear can result in the impediment of faith and love, of both God and those around you. To sum up the greatest commandments, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. Don’t let fear impede these relationships. We are called to love and serve. Remember, 1 John 4:18, “Perfect love casteth out fear.”—that love is the love of Christ. But don’t forget that we should have a reverential FEAR of God. He is the only One we should fear—He is exceedingly great, worthy of honor and glory and praise, can do more than we think or imagine! We should remember that our daily attitudes and actions should reflect this fear, it’s the beginning of knowledge. I entered a new season of life- There’s a lot I could say about that but one thing I’ve noticed is how starved we were as a family—ESPECIALLY me—for more of God’s truth and guidance and discipline, for the grace of the Gospel to wash over us DAILY, hourly, minute-ly ❤️😁. I’m overwhelmed at His love and His care for us even when we have been neglectful and less likely to prioritize Him. I’m overwhelmed st the thought that He knows everything we need and lines it up so that we receive that when we need it and when we are prepared for it! That even when my heart has strayed unaware to other things, Jesus didn’t leave my side and WAIT for me to come back alone...but took my hand and led me back where I needed to be (beside me), prepared the way ahead of me and protected and shielded me from the pain of circumstance by securing my joy in Him (before me). This looks like a pile of “self-help” books, but honestly, there is nothing “self-help” about it because it isn’t by my power or ability but by the grace and mercy of the Lord that I am where I am, learning what I need to learn. “O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I get up; you understand my thought from far off. You search my path and my lying down and are aware of all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue but behold Oh Lord you know it fully. You put yourself behind and before me and keep your hand on me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is lofty and I cannot fathom it.” Psalm 139:1-6 mev. You should continue reading this passage today too. It’s a great reminder that the Lord knows you and He desperately loves you and cares for you. He is behind and before you, walking beside you...nothing is a surprise to Him—He who has begun a good work in you will continue His work until it is finished.
