Anne Schedeen’s family has just announced on her Facebook page that she has passed away peacefully at the age of 77. I have linked the post above so that you guys can read exactly what her family has to say, but if you’re not interested in opening up Facebook, below is the statement:
“A message from Annie’s family:
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share Annie has passed peacefully. She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of creative energy, whip smart humor, delight in her family, adoration for little dogs, burning hatred for Trump, passion for second-hand thrifting, and love for a good story. We are bereft without her. We loved her so much, as did all who met her.
She was a force. And it is unimaginable to think about life without her in it. But as she said, ‘I’m always with you.’ And she’s right. The memories, artwork, belly laughter, handmade jewelry, oil paintings, sculptures, costumes, and all around joie de vivre live on.
Raise a margarita in her honor.
She is survived by beloved friends and family including her husband of 55 years Christopher Barret, darling daughter Tay Barret, daughter-in-law, Hilary Flynn, sister Sarabeth Schedeen, niece Minnie Land, brother Roland “Tony” Schedeen, sister-in-law Julieann Schedeen, and her beloved rescue dogs Roo and Red.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to one of Annie’s favorite causes, Habitat for Humanity.

Rest in peace, Anne Schedeen. A wonderful person from what I’ve heard and an incredible actress. It’s always enjoyable to see her turn a character like Kate into a full three-dimensional character. My condolences to her family.
In her honor, the-melmac-menagerie will go dark for the next week aside from any other news that may occur. I may post several Kate/Anne related things depending on if I have time or not.
Rest in peace, Anne. The world - as well as the ALF world - wouldn’t be the same without you.
