Apple bag follows the nights of a cashier working in a small town shop where a person just went missing. spending most of their night chatting with late hour customer they develop a particular relationship with customers all seeming involved in the disparition everyone seems to talk about.

The gamme will have 3 LI each having their own route but for now the plan is to publish the prologue and night one before the end of the jam.

I just saw the “apology” and I have to say…

Is it really that hard to just say, “Yeah I fucked up, have no excuse, I will do better?” Serena? Is it really so hard to move your butt out there to say something MJ?

But it seems like, its really much more easier to shift the blame on others. “Buhu she gaslighted us all” is the typical excuse of someone who is trying to save their own little butt, nothing more. Because even IF someone did that, than why you never talked to them or get them out of the company? Why never doing anything against it?

Whatever happend between anyone of you, didnt excuse anything of what you did and said about these people. You really managed to make that situation worse for you, than it is already.

And the whole stuff with Olivier… business school seems not to make you any kind of smarter huh?

conclusion

what i have witnessed in the discord server was appalling. no CEO should be interacting with fans this way, nor should the mods think it is acceptable to be “joking” around with fans that dismiss their legitimate questions. at the end of the day, no one was held accountable: MJ was given a “second chance” and is planning on publishing her apology sometime soon, Serena, while not officially “working” for Dulcet Games, is still platformed and used for monetary gain, as Sweet Elite is the only reason why Dulcet Games still exists, and Olivier continues to treat fans disrespectfully and arrogantly without consequences. therefore, whether you believe Serena has officially “changed,” I would still question whether it is the best idea to continue supporting such company that allows such behavior and cannot, for the life of them, create boundaries with their fans or show the bare minimum respectful behavior.

re serena’s apology: one cannot become a “new person” overnight, and while I am not saying Serena does not feel regret for what she has done, it is difficult to tell whether she is upset that her company has been tarnished and her image ruined (with her demotion), or whether she is truly guilty for saying the wrong things. even I cannot know, because it entirely depends what direction the company and Sweet Elite will head towards, and whether Serena fixes her behavior through her actions, rather than her insistence that she’s changed. and it is especially hard to believe anything will change for the better with someone like Olivier running the company.

one person in the server left a very valuable comment that summarizes what I believe would be the best course of action.

whether you believe Serena is sincere, or feel sorry for her, it does not mean you owe her your forgiveness. and remember, if you are not a minority targeted by Serena and MJ, or apart of the development team (or any person who was insulted), this is not your apology to accept.

as I’ve mentioned in my previous post, if we want to hold these people accountable, I would advise everyone not to play Sweet Elite, not to spend money on it or promote it through fan-works. I have seen posts in the SE tag of people continuing to support the game despite them “disavowing their actions,” and I will tell you if you do not support Serena’s or MJ’s actions, especially after today, then you should not play the game. any support will promote Sweet Elite and therefore DG, and thus you cannot separate the artist from the art.

in my honest opinion, there is no reason for Sweet Elite should continue at this moment- not with incompetent moderators, not with an incompetent CEO, and not with the struggling writers. these people need to reflect on their actions before ever attempting to create a game, because no matter how “good” their game is, their behavior and ideals will always be more important.

Agreed with Nari, I was around when were making fun of Hitler because he is a dictator, I apologize if it's indeed disturbing for some people.

I also want to point out to the people saying fans contributed to the toxic ambience in the server, I honestly don't understand why, most people playing DG were also Beemov fans and they made fun of a game that caused them mixed feelings. Again, I'm sorry if it was hurting people but also comparing the fans that used to hang out in the DG server to the zillion things MJ especially and Serena said/did is taking it out of proportion and missing the point.

They didn't just talk bad about other content creators or fandoms, NO, they were racist, xenophobic, transphobic, they talked about killing people and they engaged in doxxing, stalking, MJ used alt accounts to spy on the fans/staff and the list goes on. This is not on fans, it doesn't even come up from the fans' server, these are things that were happening behind close doors.

And tbh, I personally even considered I had a friendship of sorts with Serena and she was almost always nice to me to my face. But now reading what she thinks of immigrants and trans people... As if people loved when they have to leave their country due to economic situations, social or political persecutions. As if they didn't have to suffer enough violence and discrimination everywhere. But aside from that, the fact DG allowed MJ to get the personal info of their staff and fans and just letting this truly disgusting person talk to us fans and take care of their social media.

Dulcet Games drama and my grievances about it

As someone who formerly created content with the SE fandom, was involved with the fan manifesto, and even interacted with the staff of DG (I'm on good terms with the writers of Kortia, along with Black Tarot)

I knew about this whole rabbit hole for months, but never spoke up about it as I was the youngest active member in the DG discord server. I probably was and still the youngest if I was still on there.

I could never really have a say in it, especially with my age.

It's good that this is finally being discussed, as I got into many discussions relating to this.

To say, the server slowly devolved into something worse. I got into the games around mid-March of 2021. Joined the server a few days later. Became active around early to mid April. Left late-June.

I contributed a lot of things. Fanfiction and fan edits, especially the fan edits. I even popularised them on tiktok. Yet the drama started to surface.

With other members, we gathered to discuss our complaints and issues. Over time, we expressed discomforts in the server. I even admitted that one of the members made me uncomfortable, yet MJ never done anything about it. They made me so uncomfortable with their comments, I resorted to blocking them. As of now, they are still blocked today. Even if I never interact with them again, I refuse to touch the button.

While I am grateful that I met certain members, I'm not grateful with my interactions with Serena and MJ. Now, I'm not gonna attack them, insult them, death threat them, that's stupid and you shouldn't do that either. I'm simply calling out their actions.

Note that I'm a minor (older than 15). I'm still naive at times, especially if it's on Discord, but I'm well aware to read behaviour. Yet with them, they were manipulative.

I couldn't tell. Because I looked up to them. And I was wrong to do so.

Yes, they did say things to dismiss our complaints written in the fan manifesto. To be honest, it was an immature thing to do. As a company, it's best to improve and learn from the complaints that are given. Yet they didn't follow it.

I'm annoyed, disappointed, and I'm with the people who are opening up about this. I'm sorry for my followers who follow me for my Valorant content, I just had to speak up about a fandom I used to be a part of.

Fan manifesto

Apparently in June some members of the Dulcet Games’ discord server community already voiced some concerns and were dismissed.

Here is what these members sent on 17th of June:

This manifesto speaks for itself, they can claim that the screenshots in other threads were old and they have changed since then but evidently this is an ongoing issue which they did not even want to address when people brought it up.

I was part of this manifesto, in fact I was the one who encouraged people to voice their concerns and that's exactly what we did. It was written because we cared about the fandom, the games and tbh some of us had even been close to Serena and MJ. As you can read, it was written as a joint effort between a number of fans and the reply was blaming everything on ONE fan and being extremely cruel to her which again WASN'T TRUE, it was a number of us writing everything. After that, a username known as chica98 started harrasing us. Now I see that this looks like one of MJ's alleged alts so that's sick.

We did this with the best intentions because again WE CARED and the answer from Serena and DG was to "purge" everything they ever said on the Discord server, claiming to change the server rules to focus on the development. As you can see, it was just an excuse to delete the evidence.

With all the stuff going on i sadly confirm my décision that I won't post My édits, drawings, or lore about Sweet élite on Tumblr ( at least for now ) due to the pression that was created to fan artists telling them to stop doing Fanart and just in general stop being fans. While I acknowledge how disgusting the Dev team is and that I understand why people want to boycott I personally can't, the game became my comfort game, making my life less shity and is bringing me confort. For now nothing in the game itself push me to stop and I still will acknowledge the bad stuff happening and that happened, I also understand that a very selfish POV and I 100% understand if you don't tolerate or understand it, just don't shame or attack fan artiste or people still attached to the game because we signed up for game, we got involved, we made friends on the fandom, created oc, fanfic, drawings or edits and that personal experience .

I'll probably still will do doodles, eldarya edits etc.

This is very valid too, I went through this with the Harry Potter fandom when Rowling came out as a transphobe. Most of us didn't drop the fandom because it meant a lot for us, it was literally my life so I totally understand this. We shouldn't be targetting each other, the problem is not the fans, everyone needs to deal with the shock and confusion in their own terms.
