Quiet when I’m comin’ home, I’m on my own.
nobody can save me. // self para
It had been years since that fateful day - the one that changed everything. Prior to then, Danny's life had been going well, despite any bumps in the path. She could say she was happy and mean it, really.
you deserve to be loved without having to hide the parts of yourself that you think are unlovable.
danny-simmons:
Well, as cute as it is, it’s still hard work. I try to make it as bearable as possible, but the lunch rush is always a bit insane. People really do like the quick meals we put together here, it seems. [She sits down with Dianne, watching her get everything up and running.] Okay, so methods of persuasion. They can be quite different and in different forms, when written. We’re looking to point out all of them?
Ooh but it’s like that in this kind of business…but if you hire extra staff it might actually help make lunchtimes more manageable - I mean, if you think you can pay for there to be two or three of you working…it’ll be a doddle. [She frowns and reads over the instructions from her teacher again.] I have to identify at least three features, and in my conclusion I should say which is the most effective.
We can. I've been looking over the money side of the business with my mom, who's way better at that than I am, and we can hire two more people... I should really work on making a nice advertisment, shouldn't I? [She nods a little.] Okay, we can do this! Can I read the article?
l i s t e n
seeing you got ritualistic… cleansing my soul of addiction for now, ‘cause I’m falling apart…
t e n s i o n
between us just like picket fences you got issues that I won’t mention for now 'cause we’re falling apart…
passionate from miles away, passive with the things you say passing up on my old ways but I can’t blame you, no…
danny-simmons:
[She pretty much melts at his puppy dog look, aww'ing out loud.] Oh, goodness, you’re too cute. Worry not, friend, I’ll do my best to change your life! [She smiles and puts her manuscript in a drawer behind the counter, then stands up.] Alright, now, let me ask you - what are some things you enjoy in life?
[He stands as she does, perking up slightly now that he’s going to help him.] If I had that answer, I wouldn’t be so lost. I tried cooking and failed. Badly.
[She taps her chin, thinking.] Okay, so a failed cooking experiment. What else do you like? I mean, in general, not as things you've tried to do in the past. Do you like flowers, or singing in the shower, or anything?
danny-simmons:
[She laughs.] Sounds like a plan. We’re starting next week, so if you swing by around four o'clock on Wednesday with her, I’ll get you the good seats. [She winks, playfully.]
Well, of course, I will be up front. laughs]
We can definetely arrange for that. [She chuckles.]
danny-simmons:
Of course, D! I’ve got Hayley coming from her break in a few seconds. I should really hire someone else though, poor girl’s getting tired, I can see it. [She hums and nods towards the barista as she returns, then leads Dianne to a table for two.] Okay, so, what is it again that you need to figure out on this?
Well I’m sure if you advertise for more staff, you’d get plenty of applicants. It’d be quite a cute place to work, really. [She gets out her laptop and logs on, searching for the document she had already made a start on.] So, I need to write about how the article persuades the readers to reduce their CO2 emissions.

That’s what I like to think, too. [She nods a little.]
But lemme know when the first event is, I will invite her into your insanity if she can handle mine she can definitely manage yours.

danny-simmons:
Phew, good. I’d hate to give this town another reason to think I’m insane. [She chuckles.]
Isn’t everybody a little?
That's what I like to think, too. [She nods a little.]
bookstore encounters
[She’s at her bookstore/coffeeshop, sitting behind a big desk with the register for the books part of it, sipping on a hot beverage she made for herself and grumbling as she underlines something on a manuscript.] No, that sounds awful, need'a change that soon, very soon… [She sighs and looks up, noticing your character and immediately straightening up.] Oh, goodness, sorry about that… Have you been there long?
[glances up from his phone and giggles a little] No, don’t worry about it hon. I was pre-occupied.
So we were both a little distracted, huh? [She chuckles.] How may I help, then, dear?
We were. [smiles at her, putting his phone away] I need a new hobby and I was hoping you’d recommend a book.
Good thing, so at least we didn’t notice. [She smiles right back at him, eyes twinkling when he says that.] A new hobby? Oh, that sounds lovely. I can recommend some books on different hobbies, or if your new hobby will be reading, I can also recommend you some good starters, if you’d like!
Both. Give me both. Change my life, Danny. I beg you. [He clasps his hands together on the counter and gives her his bed puppy dog look.]
[She pretty much melts at his puppy dog look, aww'ing out loud.] Oh, goodness, you're too cute. Worry not, friend, I'll do my best to change your life! danny-simmons:
You make a very good point. [She chuckles.] I just want people to enjoy being Levaste os meus phones contigo?l comfortable here, almost like this is a second home to them, like it is to me. Does that sound crazy?
No, it sounds perfectly reasonable.
Phew, good. I'd hate to give this town another reason to think I'm insane. [She chuckles.]
danny-simmons:
[She gives a little frown, obviously not happy with the topic either, but nods.] Okay, that sucks, but writing’s my domain so I should be able to help. Wanna sit down with me and go over this?
I know, it’s a gross topic. [She smiles and nods.] If you’ve got time that would be really lovely.
Of course, D! I've got Hayley coming from her break in a few seconds. I should really hire someone else though, poor girl's getting tired, I can see it.
