I can’t say enough about how unique the ska scene is, and how lucky I am to be a part of it. When MU330 started touring heavily in the early 90’s, it struck me how in every town we played there was a tribe of ska weirdos that looked out for each other and supported each other. I’m truly lucky to have been a part of that for over three decades. In times of such isolation and uncertainty, it felt great to be reminded of my connection to such an amazing community that spans the globe. In 2007 I wrote a record and recorded it with these handsome fellas and we called the band The Stitch Up. The album is called “Attitude Adjuster” and has been out of print for years, and has been unavailable on all digital platforms. The album I recorded with my buddy David Dondero came out this weekend and is in all the streaming places. I’m pretty darned proud of the record we made together. He is an amazing songwriter and he worked super hard on this. One of my best memories of recording this album in when after a really difficult morning of tracking a song with super heavy subject matter, we took a break and hopped on a tandem bicycle and rode to the boardwalk. We rode the giant dipper and screamed like little kids and ate ice cream afterwards. When we came back Dave took another crack at the song and nailed it first take. See how hard we worked? Riding bikes and roller coasters and eating ice cream? Anyway, i love this record and I hope you can give it a listen and love it too. There are guest appearances by Shannon Toombs, A.J. I busted out a bunch of new paintings while in St.Louis over the holidays. I experimented a bit with this weird non-absorbent synthetic paper that makes the color fly all over the surface in a pretty uncontrollable way. It’s kind of frustrating in the moment, but I’m psyched about how it turned out. Anyone else out there use this crazy stuff? All the new stuff is posted up at the Dan P. store.
