3.5+ Years in London
I moved here and promptly stopped blogging.
I don’t know, I think you just get caught up in it all. You learn your bus routes, then your cycle routes. You start glaring when people talk on the tube, or when people stand on the left on the escalators. You snag a safe place to sleep, then another, then another.
You find nice coffee, nice beer, nice gardens. You find moments of glorious sun, until you no longer notice the grey. You find little ways to let nature speak directly to you, “Oi twat, look at this, it’s pretty!” OK. I look. I see.
You get lost in Smithfield, hilariously close to home. Then Soho. Then Southwark, Greenwich, Kensington, Camden, Hampstead, Stratford, and Bow. Eventually you stop getting lost. You never got lost in Hackney, though - that’s home.
You build relationships with acquaintances, colleagues, friends-of-friends, strangers even. You build new kinds of relationships with your family, an ocean away. You build new ways of exploring the world with your friends, scattered across the world. You build relationships with flatmates. You build a life with your boyfriend. You have roots. You’re growing.
But did you forget to build a relationship to your new self?
Did you forget you have a new self?
Did you forget?

Oh shit!!!
Autumn in Canada is awesome. These trees along the canal make me stare, just trying to soak up the colours. (at Canada Parliament, Ottawa, Ontario Canada)
Jurassic
The Northlander explores Metis themes in a post-apocalyptic world.
The Northlander, which was filmed in Drumheller and Writing-on-Stone provincial park, opens Wednesday night at Landmark Cinemas 16 Country Hills.
The movie is set in a far future without technology or society, where humans are struggling to survive because of a lack of food and water.

Who is he?
Who is he? Eyes shut, always down Who is he? Lingering fog, all around He is in the third person, unrecognizable to even himself. Can’t speak, can’t write, can’t rhyme, can’t think Hunting for metaphors, fishing for similes Like a sailor without a compass Guided only by the stars above Like incandescent points of clarity in his consciousness Glimpses of a life where he knows himself And can say, “I think. I love. I am.”
Fog
It rolls in like it always does And a shiver runs down my back Front and forward facing, I try to fix my gaze Days go by, then weeks, and it lingers Tendrils and fingers reach, surround until there's nothing else Can't tell where to go, or if should move at all Or if I even want to Because to be honest, I kind of like what it does to me I know this... I feel it It touches me, activates me, challenges me, brings me back to life and back to fire I don't want it to go away I want this fog to stay.
Attention
Attention Or lack thereof Is how we measure our worth Freely given, and valued so much Too much Very much the new currency The public realm brought to a bite-sized feed Digestible, consumable morcels Too delicious to turn away from, so I follow them into the night. Pretty soon, I can hear a call, a warning As if lost in the woods, I go in circles The trees are all the same - black. But I'm still following them into the night. I'm insatiable. Another call, another warning. No matter. I've already lost myself.
Compulsions
refresh Self-flagellation by social media Instantly and simultaneously gratifying and bludgeoning the sharp edge of the lacking Every strand of the web serves as another Reminder of how small the world is And how smaller still I feel in it This feels terrible But I can’t stop refresh I need to know who you are.
Really tho…
See?
Too easy.
Could’ve made so many more.
Who wore it better?
