“It is often said, mainly by the ‘no-contests’, that although there is no positive evidence for the existence of God, nor is there evidence against his existence. So it is best to keep an open mind and be agnostic. At first sight that seems an unassailable position, at least in the weak sense of Pascal’s wager. But on second thoughts it seems a cop-out, because the same could be said of Father Christmas and tooth fairies. There may be fairies at the bottom of the garden. There is no evidence for it, but you can’t prove that there aren’t any, so shouldn’t we be agnostic with respect to fairies?”

Got to love logic
more of this putting words in 'god's' mouth shenanigans. christian's are the biggest blasphemerererers. Don't let a little untruth get in the way of your marketing programs. another delightful bit of crap from the same blog "life is hard, God never said it would be easy, but He promised to be with you through all the way.. ;)" Where and in which holy scripture did god make this promise? or was this one whispered in someone's ear who didnt get the job of writting one?...... ;) http://scarletstarfish.tumblr.com/ pfft
I love(hate) how people just make up crap! Jesus never said this, unless Jesus wrote lyrics for The Pretenders in 1994! If your going to base your life on the teaching of a guy who lived 2000 years ago at LEAST figure out what it was he actually taught! (for Christ’s sake :P)

“I long for the day when men turn away from invisible monsters and once more embrace a more rational view of the world. But these new religions are so convenient – and promise such terrible punishment should one reject them – I worry that fear shall keep us stuck to what is surely the greatest lie ever told.”
—Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad
We calculate that the human species has been about for 100,000 years. In order to believe the Christian message you have to believe this. For those 100,000 years, people were born, died, usually, many of them in child birth, either the mother or the child. Life expectancy perhaps twenty years, twenty five, died of micro-organisms they didn’t know existed, Genesis doesn’t mention them because the people who write Genesis don’t know there are micro-organisms. Earthquakes would have been terrifying, tsunamis, volcanoes, mysterious events. War and famine superimposed on this, you can all fill out this picture for yourselves, I’m sure. That was our life, for tens of thousands of years, on and on it went. Maybe a gradual upward curve, of a sort. We seem to have made some progress, very painfully, and with infinite suffering and labor. And with our solidarity still in tact. Now here’s what you have to believe, you have to believe that Heaven watched that for 98,000 years. And after 98,000 years decided it may be time to intervene. And the best way of doing that would be to have a filthy human sacrifice in a very remote part of Palestine. And the news of this has still not penetrated to the rest of the world, and I don’t think will be believed when it does, and isn’t believed by me, and can’t be believed by a thinking person.

Tim Minchin - the good book
Questions of good and evil, right and wrong are commonly thought unanswerable by science. But Sam Harris argues that science can -- and should -- be an authority on moral issues
So God Kicked us out of eden when one of us ate an apple but he forgave our sins when we killed his son?
