Near limitless abilities that stem from his intensely powerful creation magic that is pure white in colour. As long as Daniel can conceive of something, he could make it. Inter-dimensional portals that pierce through the veil between universes.
NAYKT Character Facts
In his original home universe, thousands of beings like Daniel (known as the Divine) lived in peace with humans, working towards a greater prosperity for all until war broke out.
The war began between Divine and humans, but soon they all turned on each other. Brother against brother, friend against friend until the Divine's arrogance and intent to survive began to tear the very fabric of their universe apart. Divine Verse was ultimately destroyed.
Daniel escaped due to a seemingly unique ability he possessed to pass between universes, though he had little control of where he ended up and passed through countless universes before he came to a stop.
He only stopped running when he encountered the Colonel and Jameson Jackson who seemed to understand the devastation he'd seen without him ever needing to verbalise it.
Daniel joined their crusade to find their friend Damien, happily providing safe passage and greater insight into the various universes they would encounter.
Writer's fave fact
Daniel is meant to be a reflection of Phantom. Where Phantom is a being of greed, sin, and temptation who despite being young had to mature very quickly, Daniel is a being of Divinity, pure intent, and community who despite being incredibly old is actually very youthful and inexperienced, especially when compared to those he currently travels with (Colonel and JJ).
While all the Battlers seem connected, there is something very unique between Phantom and Daniel.
After a couple hours locked away with his guests, Mad finally, finally emerges with the new part in his hands. All that remains is to install it, though it’s not going to be a simple plug-in-and-go job.
Mad sets Google up on a table to one side of the warehouse, the crap cleared away by the others. To prevent any possible complications he has to be deactivated which makes several people very nervous.
There’s absolutely no hope of privacy. Too many people have too much invested in this moment to keep their damn noses out. It’s only after constant bothering by Mare that Mad agrees to the audience, but they all have to keep their fucking mouths shut!
So everyone stands a reasonable way back, carefully watching in a kind of messy semi-circle around the table.
To one side you have the other three googles, Red his usual grumpy self, Green silently cruching numbes for survival, and Oliver cradling the roomba like a soft toy. It’s likely nobody is so nervous about this as they are.
Beside them Phantom sits on the floor, a Jim at each shoulder, Marvin stood behind him, and Enis laid across his legs. The four of them had taken it upon themselves to keep an eye on the dealmaker. Then Enis found out how comfy his legs were and Phantom’s fate was sealed.
Natemare stands on his own, hands shoved in his pockets, watching Mad like a hawk.
Around the middle of the shoddy arc you have the ‘leaders’. Dark, Wilford, and the Host. You’d think they’d look more concerned but they’re all pretty stony-faced. Maybe Wilford looks a little worried but the others definitely don’t.
Bim is a little further along, looking equally solemn but less self-serving know-it-all-ism, more resigned sadness. Maybe that’s why Rowan and Yan have gravitated towards him. Of all the weirdos in this room, Bim is the most normal, not to mention clearly in need of a friend. So Yan stands beside him, with their arms wrapped around Rowan from behind .
Hiding behind them is Ed, quietly muttering about how unreliable all this new technology is, and it’s just going to just blow up in all their dang faces.
And on the far end, stands King, silent, brooding, and pissed.
Wickes, JJ, and the Colonel stand further back. They’re curious, but with no real horse in this race they don’t mind stepping back. That’s the best way to learn about this new world. Observation.
Not that they’re really paying the procedure any real attention, a little more concerned with Wickes. When you’ve been side-by-side in as many dire situations as they have, you learn to pay attention to each other. You may not see a danger but maybe one of the others does. Being able to recognise the signs can often be the difference between life or death. With his elevated breathing, nervous finger tapping, darting eyes; something is definitely up.
Jameson glances around the room as Daniel’s eyes dart again. He seems to keep rotating between those who share his face, who also seem agitated. JJ quietly snaps his fingers at William before pointing to Natemare, easily the most nervous, twitching and rocking back and forth on his feet.
“Wickes?” William asks quietly
“I don’t know.” Daniel admits, unsure of what’s unsettling him. “You grab those three.” He points to Dark, Wilford, and the Host. They’re the closest, easiest to access by the strong guy without magic.
“And Jameson?”
“Phantom can’t move.” He points towards the little pile that the Jims and Enis have made of the dealmaker and JJ nods, shuffling to move closer. “I’ll take the others.”
“What about the mechanic?”
Daniel shakes his head. “No one will beat Natemare. We’ll only get in the way.”
“Understood.” William nods. “How long do we ha-?”
And that’s when the car came crashing through the wall.
