Jeeves went to his first dressage show today! And his judge was also a mule judge, and she was so excited to see him - she gave us the names of the donkey/mule/mini shows she judges at and encouraged us to come.

Jeevie was great; we did have a slight issue when he left the ring at A ("We're done, right?) but it was a schooling show so I got an error instead of dq'd, amd I laughed through the rest of the test. My test reader was also cracking up. It was a blast.

Pack mules can be convinced to venture through dungeons and caverns, with some coaxing. The sound of hooves on stone will broadcast the party's location for a long distance. (Doug Chaffee from the AD&D Dungeoneer's Survival Guide by Douglas Niles, TSR, 1986) This book includes rules for mules and dogs as beasts of burden, but omits the giant lizards favored by some subterranean races.
