Unique Photos Of Slavery In America Part 2
Many Native Americans welcomed African Americans into their villages. Even as slaves many African Americans became part of a family group, and many intermarried with Native Americans – thus many later became classified as Black Indians
Nancy Green a former slave, was employed in 1893 to promote the Aunt Jemima brand by demonstrating the pancake mix at expositions and fairs. She was a popular attraction because of her friendly personality, great story-telling, and warmth. Green signed a lifetime contract with the pancake company and her image was used for packaging and billboards.

A father stares at the hands of his five year-old daughter, which were severed as a punishment for having harvested too little rubber. This is what was happening in the Congo at the hands of the Belgians under King Leopold. Let us be clear dear people who like to claim that because their parents were immigrants to America they never benefited from the slave trade. People were taken from Africa & exported as slaves to other countries, but Africans were also enslaved & killed on the continent. …
SLAVE WHIPPING AS A BUSINESS. People who lived in Richmond would send their slaves here for punishment. When any one wanted a slave whipped he would send a note to that effect with the servant to the trader. Any petty offense on the part of a slave was sufficient to subject the offender to this brutal treatment. For this service the owner was charged a certain sum for each slave, and the earnings of the traders from this source formed a very large part of the profits of his business.
Mary Fields was born sometime around 1812 & was born a Slave in Hickman County, TN. She was the first African American woman and the second American woman to be employed as a mail carrier with the USPS. She was able to hitch a team of six horses to a Stagecoach faster than any other applicant & earned the nickname “Stagecoach Mary” because of her reliability even in inclement weather that caused her to walk up to ten miles in the snow to the Mail Depot. She never missed a day of work.
A LIFE CONTRACT???!….And why isn’t Mary Fields on ANY fucking stamp for USPS?….this is about to be my next project. Get her on a stamp.

Elijah the Prophet Water
Although this is known as Elijah the Prophet Water, it has little to do with the biblical prophet. In Russian tradition, Elijah is syncretized to the thunder spirit, Perun. His feast days are July 20th and July 30th, known as “thunder days.” Rain falling on these days is believed to have tremendous therapeutic and magical value. Bottle it, refrigerate it, and reserve for magical emergency. Elijah the Prophet Water protects against the Evil Eye, general serious illness, and malevolent magic.

Love & Lemonade ❤️🍓🍋
~
(Tested out this Sparkling Love Lemonade recipe shared by @witchkitch. I didn’t have any sparkling water lying around, so it’s just regular love lemonade, but it’s amazing, so I’m sure it would be great with bubbles, too.)
Looks yummy
Dream Interpretation: Weather
What is Dream Interpretation?
It is assigning meaning to dreams, meaning using what one dreams of and the symbols, objects and events of the dream to relate them to the psychological, emotional and sometimes spiritual state of the dreamer. Some use it as a way to divine and predict the future while others use it to help assess their emotional states and subconscious thoughts they may be ignoring in waking life.
General Overview and Meaning
While dreaming the weather that occurs represents our emotional states and our state of mind. It often represents the positive and the negative of circumstances we are facing and handling. Sometimes weather will be more obvious in dreams than in other dreams, sometimes we don’t full notice it.
Specific Dream Situations
Overall Good Weather: This varies person to person whether they consider a type of weather as “good” but in general if its weather you deem as nice, it relates to being in good standing and emotional state
Wind: It represents change and travel. You may be feeling the need to change your surroundings or to move to a new place. Gusts of winds and unceasing strong wind relates to struggles in waking life. If wind is pushing the dreamer then in waking life you are feeling controlled by another. Gentle winds indicate you are excited for something new. Wind helping the dreamer fly or move faster indicates you feel like you are well supported by others around you.
Rain: generally relates to negative emotions - sadness, disappointment, depression, etc. It may relate to the need to improve communication because you are feeling unheard or ignored by others. Light rain may relate to feeling calm or indifferent.
Cold Weather: Often represents something in your life that you dislike or even hate. Some relate it to feeling ignored or lonely (getting the “cold shoulder”). Others say it relates to bitterness and being pessimistic (”bitter cold”). Freezing weather means you feel hostility directed at you.
Flooding from Rain/Weather Event: Negativity and uncertainty is “flooding” into your life right now. You are stressed, emotional and may feel like its all too much to deal with. Subconsciously you are in a panic.
Rainbow: seeing a rainbow in the sky or during rainfall relates to harmony and peace in one’s life. You are feeling that you have overcome a “storm” and are starting to feel much better.
Fog: A thick dense fog relates to feelings of feeling isolated, lost and confused. Thin veils of fog relates to the feelings of the supernatural, wonder and trying to find your way. You may also be trying to find a path through a problem or obstacle you have come across.
Warm Weather: It relates to normalcy in waking life - its as it is.
Hot Weather: exhaustion and the feeling of being overworked
Drought: It may literally represent a shortage you are experiencing (income, food, shelter, socialization, etc). It also can relate to distress from work or labor.
Hurricane: An enormous threat is present in your waking life and its very distressful. You may feel like you’ve lost control of your emotions or are having issues coping with grief, fear and/or depression.Linked to feelings of impending failure.
Sunshine: Positive and “sunny” mindset currently. You are feeling confirmed, energetic, happy and overall hopeful.
Snow: Often associated with purification going on in your life like overcoming obstacles and cutting out negative people. May also relate to feeling at peace over something or even yourself. A snowstorm or blizzard means you feel trapped and isolated. May also relate to a recent break up or end of friendship.
Lightning: Unexpected and sudden changes have occurred in your life recently. It may also relate to feeling the need to get something done quickly. You recently night have been “shocked” by an event in waking life. Blue lightning relates to disbelief. Green lightning relates to someone else negatively affecting your life. Red lightning represents sudden negative changes.
Thunder: You are feeling like you are about to explode with anger and violence. Someone may have to recently yelled at you or scared you.
Hail: you feel under pressure and ridiculed possibly you’re emotionally in pain.
Storm: There is turmoil and conflict in your waking life. May also relate to anxiety and worries. A distant storm indicates tensions are building and you’re expecting something bad as a result. Trying to shelter from a storm means you feel abandoned in a time you need help and support.
Divination
Weather has quite a varying amount of meanings when it comes to dream divination. It does change based on how experienced a person is with divination though, generally dreaming of a certain weather event may relate to said weather event happening. There are other meanings of course rather than obvious weather, some basics are listed below:
Storm/Rain: something negative is about to come, feelings of despair will soon hit
Snow: relates to many things though it can be as simple as a snow storm on its way to the need to work on a relationship before it “freezes over”
Drought: you are about to lose something or a resource
Hurricane: a threat or danger is on its way
Flooding: you are about to be overwhelmed or financially crippled by a sudden event
Windstorm: An argument with someone close to you is about to happen
Rainbow: good news, happiness and possible exciting news is on its way

Punny Signs.
This sign maker deserves a raise.
Try not to laugh
Your meanest friend may be the one who loves you the most.
Studies show people who make others experience negative emotions believe the impact of those emotions will benefit them in the long run. When it comes to close friends, those who are harsh and honest probably just want what’s best for you.

ALTAR 101 🔮✨
•••☽◯☾•••
Here is a guide to setting up your altar based on common traditions for those new to Wicca or interested in beginning or even those practicing wiccans just looking to shake up your current set up!
•••☽◯☾•••
The most important step in setting up your altar is choosing its location; finding a spot where you are comfortable and feel positive energy is SO important! Even small things such as choosing directionality of your altar is important - if you will be using a round table/stand, directionality may not be as important, but if you are using a square set up or intend to always face the same direction when using your altar, choose the directionality which you feel closest to (you can also change directionality with certain spells if you like):
• North: Earth 🌏
• South: Fire🔥
• East: Air 💨
• West: Water💧
It is optimal to purify and cleanse the area you intend to use for your altar as well as the table/stand you choose to use.
•••☽◯☾•••
What you choose to set up your altar on is 110% a personal choice. If you don’t want to spend money looking for a specific altar table or building something special to use, simply using something you have laying around already is absolutely fine! For instance, I used an old coffee table that I had laying around not in use. As long as you purify the item with your intent, it can be anything you need. Another consideration is storage - some altars I’ve seen online have drawers and storage beneath which is a great option if space is limited! You will need someplace to store candles, herbs, stones, etc. Also important is deciding how mobile you need your altar to be - if you are a closet witch, mobility is important and a formal set up may not be plausible. Here are some beautiful altar table examples:
•••☽◯☾•••
Items of the Altar Include;
⭐️ Athame: A ceremonial blade; primarily this is used as a tool to channel energy through - this is not traditionally used as a cutting tool. Can be used to cast your circle as well as to invoke the elements of the four directions.
⭐️ Bell: Used to open and close rituals - typically associated with banishing of negative influences and energies.
⭐️ Boline: Traditionally used as a cutting tool for herbs, ribbon, flowers, etc.
⭐️ Cauldron: Used for burning of herbs, mixing of herbs, burning of symbols / paper. This should typically be cast iron since it will contain fire often times.
⭐️ Chalice: Used to hold blessed wine or water during rituals or spells.
⭐️ God Candle: Can be yellow or gold in coloration; Used to invoke masculine energies
⭐️ Goddess Candle: Can be white or silver in coloration; Used to invoke feminine energies
⭐️ Pentacle: Used to invoke positive energies into a circle; often times items can be “charged” upon a pentacle
⭐️ Wand: Another tool of invokation used to invoke the gods and sacred energies. Like the athame, this too can be used to cast a circle.
•••☽◯☾•••
One option for setting up the altar is a more “traditional” set up dividing the table into feminine and masculine energies. The left side is traditionally meant for femininity with items such as your goddess statue, goddess candle, chalice, bowl of water, cauldron, pentacle, crystals, and bell. The masculine right side includes your god statue, god candle, incense, wand, salt, athame, boline, and matches. The center of the altar is dedicated to ritual and magic set up.
•••☽◯☾•••
Another common style is an elemental set up with items representative of water (chalice, bowl of water, cauldron) being set to the west, air (bell, wand, incense) to the east, earth (pentacle, salt, stones) to north, and fire (athame, boline, matches / oils) to the south.
•••☽◯☾•••
Other items you could consider adding to your altar representative of each element:
💧 Water: Seashells, Ace of Cups (Tarot), Rainwater, Mirrors, Driftwood, Seaweed, Crystal Ball, Goblet
🔥 Fire: Cactus, Volcanic Stone, Ash, Ace of Wands (Tarot), Lantern, Dragon Statue, Cinnamon Sticks, Incense
🍃 Earth: Ceramics, Coin, Stones, Soil, Salt, Ace of Pentacles, Seeds, Herbs, Flowers, Bone
💨 Air: Diffuser, Ribbons, Wind Instruments, Fans, Butterfly Imagry, Feathers, Ace of Swords (Tarot)
•••☽◯☾•••
I hope this was helpful as a basic guide! As always I encourage everyone to do things along their own personal style and employ things meaningful to you. ♥️
