The Witch of Endor
Patroness of: Necromancy, Mediumship, the Arcane, the Knowledge of Death and the Knowledge of the Dead; whomever passes through the Gates offers up their Wisdom. She also acts as a testament to the tenacity of The Craft, as even though Saul “eradicated” all Seers and Witches from his city, still she we there, ready… – and on a more mundane level: Grief, Illness, Patience, Death and Loss – or more poignantly, how to heal after being dealt a blow. She is the Liminal Witch, the Gate between the Living and the Dead – she is as ageless as death itself and, in death, has become Death – she is Merciful, she is Maternal, but she is.
Call upon her for works of: Healing – for it is Death who makes the final decision, Sorcery, Necromancy, Mediumship, Graveyard Work, Witchcraft and Knowledge of the Esoteric, Guidance. Be not frightened of her hidden face, for beneath she is release – she is Hope and she is Freedom; she is the Willful Psychopomp – sworn to usher, coin or not.
Symbols: The Gallows & the Pomegranate
For the Story of The Witch of Endor, see: 1 Samuel, Chapter 28
“Prayer”:
“Sorceress of the Black,
Who walks about one-footed:
For the other’s in the Grave –
Great Familiar Spirit –
Watching from the Shadows,
Sat patient as a masoned statue
Ever watchful –
Come the Great White Light:
Recede – for this is not the time
But phantoms songs are:
Eternal –
Whispering sounds
And howling dogs,
Faunch eagerly by the spit,
All toothy muzzled,
Dog-tooth grin –
Impart your blooming
Spectre – Queen:
Of ivory bone
And Golden Gate
And summon up –
These Arcane Tomes
From the side of Lazarus;
And impart on me – not
Just your graceful Spectre,
But the knowledge of
The Centuries,
Bound beneath your –
Silver;
Shrouded Witch o’ Endor:
Come now, Great
Serpentine –
From the inky pits of Hell,
Wherein Unseen are seen;
The one who moves –
Freely between:
The Golden Gates and –
The Fires Beneath…”
Ritual:
To Acquiesce Information from the Dead
Collect some scruples of food: corn meal puddings flavored with hot peppers or cooked beans, unleavened bread sopped in vinegar and oil, vessels of spiced rum or unfermented grape juice, water or honey, extremely salted meat (that’s inedible by human standards) – whatever is feasible and fits your unique faith – and a pouch of coins (I don’t care what faith you’re in, if you’re working in the cemetery, you pay, simple as). At the Gates of the Cemetery, leave your food offering, and some coins – actual silver, copper and gold are great, but damn near impossible to come by. Don’t by stingy. As you do so, read the above “prayer” or give them the abridged version: “Thank you, keep doing what you’re doing, we’re very grateful…”
If you require knowledge from a specific spirit and can readily access their grave, you should also bring something for them – perhaps something they liked or something that reminds you of them. It is also good to keep something that belonged to them on your person.
Leave the offerings at their grave and skip to the reading.
If you do not need an answer from a specific spirit or cannot readily access their grave, you’ll have to do a little asking about. Even if you aren’t a medium, simply vocalize (softly, don’t yell, they’re dead, not deaf) 1) whom you wish to speak with or 2) the question you need answered or information you seek.
If they come quickly, perfect. Ask, vocalize, and ask that they convey the information to you in your preferred medium (dream, cards, séance, whatever) – if not, grease the gears with this addition to the above Prayer:
“I walk amongst your children,
Now – it is answers that I seek,
Keeper of the Dead, I ask:
Bring to me the Soul –
I seek; Unveil –
The hidden visage;
And the answers
That they keep…”
Wait. Listen. Feel. When they arrive you’ll always feel it first. If they do not, try again another night – they aren’t made to serve your beck and call.

Spell to Reveal Hidden Enemies
🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫
If you suspect there may be some foes hiding among your friends, try this spell to compel the individual to reveal their true colors.
🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫
Materials:
An uncooked egg for every person you suspect
Black permanent marker
Pot with cold water
A stove
🚫For each person you suspect may not have your best interests at heart, write their whole name on the shell of an uncooked egg with black permanent marker.
🚫Place the eggs in a pot and cover them with cold water.
🚫Bring the water to a boil as you chant:
No one here can hide their truth, bad eggs will crack, for sure, forsooth
🚫After the water has been boiling for about a minute, turn off the heat and cover the pot.
🚫Wait 15 minutes. If any of the eggs are cracked, keep a close eye on the person whose name it bears, as hidden aspects of their intentions and actions will soon come to light.

Chant to bring cold weather
“Sister Wind, bring the cold
Bring the fierce, strong winds of old
Bring us snow and bring us frost
Bring us all that we have lost”
This chant was made to bring cooler weather after a heat spell! So far it works well with a clear quartz offering.
Witch’s Brew Banana Bread
You will need:
(Regular Ingredients)
2 cups white flour
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
1 egg
1 cup sugar
½ cup coconut oil
2 tbsps milk
(Witchy Ingredients)
½ tsp vanilla extract
3 over-ripe (browned) bananas, mashed
(Optional Ingredients)
½ cup walnuts
1 cup chocolate chips
½ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
½ stick unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 F (165 C) and grease a 9x5 loaf pan with butter or coconut oil. Dust with extra sugar to make removing the loaf easier!
2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk or mix with an electric mixer the egg, sugar, and oil. Sift in the dry ingredients that were previously set aside. You’re going to have to work hard to mix this! The mixture will be somewhat dry and crumbly.
4. Mash the bananas in a separate bowl and add milk and vanilla. Combine until uniform and then add this mixture to the large bowl containing your flour/egg/etc mix from before.
5. Stir with a wooden spoon or spatula, folding to really incorporate the bananas. At this point you can add your chocolate chips or walnuts if you desire!
6. Pour your batter into the greased loaf pan and smooth the top with your spatula. If you want cinnamon-sugar banana bread, combine your brown sugar, extra melted ½ stick of butter, and cinnamon. Working in batches, pour 1/5 of your banana bread batter then 1/5 of your sugar-cinnamon mix. Do this five times until you’ve used up both mixes. Taking a spoon or a kabob stick, swirl the batter around a couple times before smoothing the top with a spatula.
7. Bake for about 60 - 75 minutes until the center has set and is no longer jiggly. A knife or fork should come out clean.
What magick is infused in this quick-bread?
Vanilla - Fosters feelings of warmth, passion, love, and belonging. Vanilla is an essential for creating an open and accepting home and often represents hospitality and willingness to bond/connect.
Bananas - Said to prevent harm when traveling, full of potassium and healthy sugars. Also said to potentially increase sexual stamina.
Notes/Tips:
• If your bananas aren’t browned or ripe enough, freeze them for about 30 minutes and allow to defrost on your countertop. They will be browned by the time the frost has evaporated.
• Mash your bananas very well - do not get lazy at this step. Well-mashed bananas are key to keeping this bread moist.
• Vegan? That’s cool! Replace the egg with ¼ cup of unsweetened applesauce and the milk with almond or soy milk! The optional butter for the cinnamon-sugar version can be replaced with 3 tbsp coconut or olive or vegetable oil!
• Gluten free babes, I got you: Replace the 2 cups flour with 2 cups almond flour. Your loaf will be a little denser but still delicious!

ALTAR 101 🔮✨
•••☽◯☾•••
Here is a guide to setting up your altar based on common traditions for those new to Wicca or interested in beginning or even those practicing wiccans just looking to shake up your current set up!
•••☽◯☾•••
The most important step in setting up your altar is choosing its location; finding a spot where you are comfortable and feel positive energy is SO important! Even small things such as choosing directionality of your altar is important - if you will be using a round table/stand, directionality may not be as important, but if you are using a square set up or intend to always face the same direction when using your altar, choose the directionality which you feel closest to (you can also change directionality with certain spells if you like):
• North: Earth 🌏
• South: Fire🔥
• East: Air 💨
• West: Water💧
It is optimal to purify and cleanse the area you intend to use for your altar as well as the table/stand you choose to use.
•••☽◯☾•••
What you choose to set up your altar on is 110% a personal choice. If you don’t want to spend money looking for a specific altar table or building something special to use, simply using something you have laying around already is absolutely fine! For instance, I used an old coffee table that I had laying around not in use. As long as you purify the item with your intent, it can be anything you need. Another consideration is storage - some altars I’ve seen online have drawers and storage beneath which is a great option if space is limited! You will need someplace to store candles, herbs, stones, etc. Also important is deciding how mobile you need your altar to be - if you are a closet witch, mobility is important and a formal set up may not be plausible. Here are some beautiful altar table examples:
•••☽◯☾•••
Items of the Altar Include;
⭐️ Athame: A ceremonial blade; primarily this is used as a tool to channel energy through - this is not traditionally used as a cutting tool. Can be used to cast your circle as well as to invoke the elements of the four directions.
⭐️ Bell: Used to open and close rituals - typically associated with banishing of negative influences and energies.
⭐️ Boline: Traditionally used as a cutting tool for herbs, ribbon, flowers, etc.
⭐️ Cauldron: Used for burning of herbs, mixing of herbs, burning of symbols / paper. This should typically be cast iron since it will contain fire often times.
⭐️ Chalice: Used to hold blessed wine or water during rituals or spells.
⭐️ God Candle: Can be yellow or gold in coloration; Used to invoke masculine energies
⭐️ Goddess Candle: Can be white or silver in coloration; Used to invoke feminine energies
⭐️ Pentacle: Used to invoke positive energies into a circle; often times items can be “charged” upon a pentacle
⭐️ Wand: Another tool of invokation used to invoke the gods and sacred energies. Like the athame, this too can be used to cast a circle.
•••☽◯☾•••
One option for setting up the altar is a more “traditional” set up dividing the table into feminine and masculine energies. The left side is traditionally meant for femininity with items such as your goddess statue, goddess candle, chalice, bowl of water, cauldron, pentacle, crystals, and bell. The masculine right side includes your god statue, god candle, incense, wand, salt, athame, boline, and matches. The center of the altar is dedicated to ritual and magic set up.
•••☽◯☾•••
Another common style is an elemental set up with items representative of water (chalice, bowl of water, cauldron) being set to the west, air (bell, wand, incense) to the east, earth (pentacle, salt, stones) to north, and fire (athame, boline, matches / oils) to the south.
•••☽◯☾•••
Other items you could consider adding to your altar representative of each element:
💧 Water: Seashells, Ace of Cups (Tarot), Rainwater, Mirrors, Driftwood, Seaweed, Crystal Ball, Goblet
🔥 Fire: Cactus, Volcanic Stone, Ash, Ace of Wands (Tarot), Lantern, Dragon Statue, Cinnamon Sticks, Incense
🍃 Earth: Ceramics, Coin, Stones, Soil, Salt, Ace of Pentacles, Seeds, Herbs, Flowers, Bone
💨 Air: Diffuser, Ribbons, Wind Instruments, Fans, Butterfly Imagry, Feathers, Ace of Swords (Tarot)
•••☽◯☾•••
I hope this was helpful as a basic guide! As always I encourage everyone to do things along their own personal style and employ things meaningful to you. ♥️
