Evaluation

I have found this project quite hard to do as i had a lot of issues with layouts and softwares. The images I am extremely happy with the end result, although i had issues with my first 2 shoots I did managed get my primary image from these shoots, the 3rd and 4th shoot went a lot better as I planned them more and new exactly what i wanted from each location. My model was extremely helpful and knew exactly what i wanted, i felt comfortable instructing her to do what i wanted to do. I had a few issues with printing as i had to re design the layout to work as a booklet. 

The video was the hardest part as I didn't know what an animated still was and didn't feel able to make a video up to high standards that i wanted, i research animated stills and found links to still images made to 3d and decided i wanted to do this, i planned my shots and took them and was happy with these results. Editing the still images into more then one layout i.e subject and background, took an extremely long time but i managed to make 8 still images ready to be made 3D. I tried a few methods for the 3d effect and found one that i could do and was effective this took no time at all. I then had issues with exporting the files so that the quality was the same, i soon managed to figure it out by exporting them as bigger files.

Overall i am happy with what i have achieved and have learned a lot from this project.

Final Video

here is my final video for my project, this was extremely hard to make as it was the first time i had ever use After Effects and i was trying to achieve something quite difficult to begin with. I had a lot of issues with exporting the files and them coming out of premier blurry and choppy and i spent many hours trying to sort this out.

Screen Recording

This is me editing my image in After Effects and making it an animated image after i got the hang of it, it was pretty easy and simple the only bit thats hard is making it into 2 separate layers if i did this again id take 2 separate images one of the subject in the photo and one with out this would make the layering process a lot easier.

How make an Animated Still

This is the video that has shown me how to create an animated still in different ways i attempted lots of methods before finally settling on one. To achieve an Animated still i opened the 2 layers of the image in After Effects, made them 3D added a camera into the layers and pulled apart the 2 layers so they distanced each other and they i could move the separate layers to create an animated still. Ill be making my own video of how i did this to my won images.

Animated Stills

These are the images that i have taken for my animated stills, each image will move for 5 seconds each. I will be doing this by separating the model from the background so they are separate layers and removing the model from the background layer so that when the image moves it looks 3D, this was the most consuming part of the effect as i had to remove her and make sure the background looks realistic. I then have to put it through Adobe After Effects in order to make the image 3D.

CD Label

This is the image i have decided to go on the CD Label, its different and still fits in with the rest of the images i have chosen, all my images continue a story of the day in the life of a struggling musician. I chose this image as i thought it would work with the shape of the image as she could stand one side of of the cd and there is still enough going on the other sides.

Inlay Image

I have decided on this as my Inlay Image, this will be the image shown on that back of the cd case, I think it works well and contrasts the cd cover, It also has a space where the album song titles would be on the right hand to corner.

A3 Poster, Instagram, Facebook and Itunes 

This is an example of my Primary Image in all 4 layouts and I am happy with how they work and that they fit in all layouts.

Final Booklet Layout 

I really like my final booklet layout, i think the images work as double page spreads and i like the images i have chosen and how they work together as a collective. This layout didn't really work when i went to the printers and got them printed as i had to cut the second page and last page in 2 and have half of one image on either page so when the booklet was put together the images matched up which was very difficult as i had to keep adjusting the image to make sure it matched up.

Primary Image 

This is my Primary Image, I have decided on this as i think it would be really eye-catching and different when stood against other albums, it also fits into the day in life concept i have decided on. I added her name in this font as i wanted it to be handwritten as i think it makes it look more personal. i also added the strip as i think it works in making the lettering stand out and is the same colour theme as the image.

Final Images

These are my Final images for my layouts for the booklet, inlay and CD. I am overall really happy with the final images i think each image is different and individual but still tell a story, which is what i wanted to achieve. I'm going to be picking my primary image and adding the artists name “Cassie” on the cover for the cover of the booklet and the A3 poster. When editing these images i wanted the colours to really come out and be a consistent brightness through out the images so i played around with the vibrance to help me with this.

Shoot 4 Contact Sheet 

was just as successful as the one before, I managed to get each individual shot that i wanted to and had planned to get. I also managed to finish all animated still shots I wanted. My favourite images for this shoot was the record shop as it was really fun to get different angles and images of her looking around especially as the walls were filled with posters after editing the colours really popped out.

Daily Planner for Shoot 4 

This was my daily planner for the last shoot, I managed to fit in all the last images for both the layouts and the animated stills. we managed to follow this pretty closely as i left more time then needed for each task just in case. This will be my last shoot for the project.

Shoot 3 Contact Sheet 

Shoot 3 was more successful as I had more of an idea of what I wanted to do and knew exactly what shots I wanted, I also managed to get some shots for my animated stills. Overall this was a very successful shoot and I think ill be using a few of these shots for the final project.

Daily Planner Shoot 3

This is my daily planner of what I want to achieve with my project. I decided on some shoot ideas and based the locations and planner on getting the shots i need for both the animated stills and the album. I have my model (Cassie) for 2 days and will be filling all this time for the shoot.

Animated Stills

I was unsure of what Animated stills meant and after some research I found links to still images edited to move by taking a single still image and making layers with different aspects of the image and making them move using after effects. I have decided to do this as i feel it would be different form what anyone else will be doing.
