“I”m sorry, did you say something? This game is sorta addicting…” Adrian looked up at the person for a moment before turning his attention back to his phone.
“I said we haven’t seen much of each other lately, and it’s a shame.” Arlo plopped down next to him to peer over his shoulder at his phone. “What are you playing anyway?”
darcydivine:
“Hey Teddy.” He greeted, doing his best to muster a smile and sitting down next to his friend. He was already exhausted and he’d barely been out and about, but spending time with pleasant company seemed like just what the doctor ordered. “Thank you, I could definitely use one. How have you been?”
“It’s my pleasure, really. I’ve been well, thank you. I’m enjoying the peaceful times we’ve fallen in.” The country and the world was in chaos, but Klamenth had been free of disaster or death these last couple of weeks. “But the look on your face tells me there might be something on your mind. If you’d like to share, I’m free to listen.”
“Well in that case I will take a cosmo, but that is great to hear.” He smiled, he was so happy Klamenth Falls had had a peaceful last couple of weeks. The community really needed a breather. “It’s stupid, really. I used to be married, and I keep dreaming about my ex husband. None of the bad stuff, just all the good stuff. So I wake up every morning feeling-” He paused, honestly a bit ashamed of himself. “For lack of a better word; lonely and pissed off and all that shit.”
darcydivine:
Arlo laughed and held up his hands in defeat. “Well I tell you what, when you’re good and legal, preferably drinking age, I would consider, maybe, coming out of retirement for your birthday. But that’s a big maybe.” He slipped his gloved hands back into his pockets and shrugged. “Offer her that free dinner deal, maybe she’ll be more up for it.” Arlo shook his head, snickering. “Oh no, I was not Nomi, I tried to stay out of trouble. There were certainly a few boys there that wanted to be Nomi though. I was not very proud of my work at the time.” The witch grinned broadly. “Yeah, the gayboyhood, it’s in downtown Vegas, all the gay clubs and bath houses and strip clubs all in one area. Pretty ghetto part of town though if you don’t live in one of the penthouses.”
“I am legal, ish. In Europe I’d be legal, and I like to think I have the sophistication and grace of a middle aged french woman. If I get a dance from Roxy with this free dinner, I’m buying you a new cat.” He’d offer to buy all his tea, but figured Arlo would prefer another feline friend (should Roxy ever say yes). “Ah, spoken like Nomi in the first ten minutes of the film. Sweet, but a talented dancer. Can you do the splits?” Lincoln grinned wickedly, willing to pay good money to see the splits during the ball this minute. “In that case, I’m glad you got out of that dive. To think, our own mild mannered basket loving witch, living in a seedy neighborhood and stripping. What will the neighbors think?”
“Well then if we’re ever in England, I’ll consider it.” Arlo grinned. “I guess I have room in my heart and home for another familiar. Cerridwen would probably like the playmate.” He crossed his arms and chuckled. “I can, normally, just not in this get up. I’d probably split a seam.” Honestly, Arlo had never really considered how people’s perspective of him might change when they learned about his old profession. He sort of already thought people considered him a bit promiscuous. “Mild mannered!” He exclaimed in fake shock. “Come on, I have way too many one night stands for the neighbors to think I’m mild mannered. I think people would be more shocked I’ve had a divorce than that I’ve been on a pole or two.”
Arlo flattened out his tie, briefly checking his reflection in a darkened window before strolling up the stoop and buzzing the call button that was labeled Kaleb Bayer. He adjusted the wine sleeve under his arm and put on his best dashing smile; some of these nicer buildings had cameras to go along with the buzzer. “Kal, it’s your personal welcoming committee here, with a bottle of wine to split if you’re receiving guests.”

odarcydivine:
“No, you definitely were not legal in my stripping days. You’re barely legal now.” He laughed and shook his head. “I am way too hold to be giving you a lap dance, kiddo. Besides I’m sure you’d much prefer one of those pretty girls, I’m a little rusty these days.” Arlo smiled and shook his head. “Don’t worry about it, it was like the Showgirls club, a little more sleazy though, and in a worse part of town. We were in the gayborhood, which in those years was not the nicest place.”
“Damn, I thought my rugged good looks and mature face would fool you out of retirement.” Lincoln stroked his face with a laugh, barely feeling the prickle of facial hair. He was hoping, nay praying, he would get hit with a second bout of puberty. “Roxy keeps promising a dance, and I never seem to get one. I thought her hips didn’t lie.” None of the Mason girls seemed in underage lap dances, which was certainly good from a moral stand point - although it was a disappointment to Lin. “One, a Showgirls type club sounds amazing, minus the sleazy part. Does that mean you were Nomi? Two, I’m trying not to pee myself because gayborhood.”
Arlo did his best to muster a smile for Roxanna when he noticed her, shaking his head when she sat next to him. “Absolutely not, I’d love the company.” He laughed a little more honestly when she offered to buy him a drink. “Thank you, that sounds great. Tell them I want something strong and fruity; a cosmo sounds good.”
“A cosmo actually sounds like a good idea..” She turned her head towards the approaching bartender and ordered two cosmos. Once the order was placed, she turned back to Arlo. “You doing okay? We haven’ spoken in a while..”
He took a sip of his drink, relishing in the sweet cocktail. “It has been awhile hasn’t it?” Arlo smiled and gave a weak shrug. “I could be better. Been having these awful dreams. They’re driving me crazy.”
Arlo needed a drink, he needed to get out, to get away from the dreams that had been haunting him. Paradise; when he closed his eyes he’d be nestled away in his home back in Las Vegas, his beloved husband asleep by his side; no drug issues, no abuse; just wedded bliss. Every night he’d fall asleep to wake up tangled in sheets with Riley, before getting up to run his store with his lover in toe. Then the sun would shine through the windows of his flat and he’d wake up to another cold and empty bed.
These heavenly dreams were killing him. He didn’t want to think about his ex, about their problems, his guilt. He didn’t want to miss someone he knew was toxic. Pulling it together, he slipped in to the bar and made his way to the nearest stool.
“Hello Arlo, you’re looking rather glum.” Teddy tipped his glass in greeting, before finishing the contents in one easy swallow. He enjoyed his time at the bars, particularly now the bartenders and waitresses no longer feared getting attacked. “Here, have a seat. I’ll buy you a drink.”
“Hey Teddy.” He greeted, doing his best to muster a smile and sitting down next to his friend. He was already exhausted and he’d barely been out and about, but spending time with pleasant company seemed like just what the doctor ordered. “Thank you, I could definitely use one. How have you been?”
darcydivine:
He laughed. “I really should be, I love meeting all our new people.” He grinned and nodded, slipping his hands in his pockets and making to follow after him. “I would love to. I’m sure you heard about the riot at least? That had to have made the news.”
“And what if I want to keep you for myself? You could be my personal welcome comite” He said offering him his arm so they could start walking “I really didn’t, I’ve been traveling around the world and you tend not to pay attention to news when you do that”
Arlo happily hooked his arm in Kaleb’s. This day was turning out a lot better than he’d expected. “I would be more than happy to be your personal welcoming committee. I’m excellent for the position; I know my way around, know all the major players, all the business owners, I’m active in our charity work and whatnot. Long as I have time to run my shop. I’m all yours.” He nodded in understanding, he wouldn’t keep up with current affairs if he wasn’t staying anywhere for extended periods of time. “Worse thing to happen here since I moved here. These crazy people showed up and just started attacking people and vandalizing the town.”

Annemarie did not like the thoughts that had been rolling through her head, since running into her Sire again. This happened every time they saw one another, and as much as she hated it, she also reveled in it. But, what she wasn’t prepared for, was the thoughts of what could have been, but here she was.
As she got to the bar, she took a seat and sighed, glancing quickly over at the man next to her, before waving down the bartender. “Rough night?” she asked, glancing over at her stool neighbor again.
Arlo ordered himself a drink, some fruity cocktail he honestly didn’t pay much attention to, and glanced to his right when someone sat next to him. Sighing he gave a weak shrug. “Yeah, you could say that.” He took a hefty swig of his drink and decided it was definitely going to take more than a few of these to get his night going well.
“What about you? You look down. Name’s Arlo by the way.”

Noticing the familiar face, Roxanna made a beeline towards the empty seat. “Do you mind if I sit with you?” She asked, pointing towards the other stool. Not really waiting for an answer, because it was this or stay standing up, she sat and smiled at Arlo. She was about to ask how he was when she noticed his facial expression. The dancer nudged him gently with her shoulder. “What would you like to drink? The first one is on me.”
Arlo did his best to muster a smile for Roxanna when he noticed her, shaking his head when she sat next to him. “Absolutely not, I’d love the company.” He laughed a little more honestly when she offered to buy him a drink. “Thank you, that sounds great. Arlo smiled brightly and waved off the concern. “Fine, fine, you just startled me a bit, I think.” He held out a gloved hand to greet the stranger. “Arlo, though you can keep calling me dear if you like. I don’t think we’ve formally met.”
He smiled “I apologize for that too” He chuckled and took his hand, giving it a strong shake “Kal, pleasure to meet you my dear” He winked at the enderarment “I’m new to the town, that’s probably why we haven’t”
Arlo’s smile broadened, a light blush brightening his face. “New, huh? Well welcome to Klamenth Falls. I hope you’re getting on alright? We’ve had an eventful couple of weeks.”
He smiled at the blush, he loved when he had that effect on people “Well thank you, if you are from the welcome comitee I won’t ever complain” He teased, winking at him “Oh really? Care to elaborate on that while you join me on a walk?”
He laughed. “I really should be, I love meeting all our new people.” He grinned and nodded, slipping his hands in his pockets and making to follow after him. “I would love to. I’m sure you heard about the riot at least? That had to have made the news.”
