Upon closer inspection, she realised that there were quite a few more varieties of flowers here than she had originally witnessed; the whole shop seemed to give off a flowery scent with undertones of sweetness and earth. It was soothing, really. Corinne notices them before he points them out, and when he speaks, she’s already bee-lining for them. Quietly, she leans down towards one of the potted roses, sniffing lightly. Mm.
Perhaps her mother would let her have some of them in her room? She hopes so, and at any rate, they’re worth buying. She turns back to him with a brighter smile than before. “Would I be able to purchase a few of these?" she asks, already imagining in her head how lovely they’d look decorating her room.
[✿] He sidestepped away from the pots so she can get better access to the flowers. Many comments had been made before about the lovely scent that the rare red beauties had given off. Bending down at his waist he knelt next to her, fingers lacing over the petals of one of the flowers. "Quite the aroma...yes?" He smiled tenderly, nose pricking upon the sweet and perfume smell.
Seeing her smile and the question reaching his ears, his head cocked to the side, ready to answer it. "Only a few dollars. With tax, three. No need to worry about them being too costly" He stood to his feet and took a bouquet of three of the roses. "Would this be enough for you ma'am?" Kai's voice remained as sweet as honey.

❧ | She’d seen it for only a moment, that flicker of emotion like wind disrupting the light of a candle and sending the shadows of the room into a flurry. She recognised that kind of hidden emotion because it was something she often did herself; hiding secrets and a painful past. Of course, she’s no psychic, so she can’t begin to understand what might be going through his mind at this time, however troubled he might’ve looked, and it’s none of her business anyway. After all, she wouldn’t want him prying into her own affairs. So she let’s the expression pass without comment.
Distracting herself — or perhaps the both of them — she replies, “Well, it certainly shows. D-Do you… do you have any roses?" she asks timidly. Of course, she must ask. They are her favourites, after all.
[✿]A smile curved over his lips upon hearing the question pop from her lips. Roses? "Oh yes! Definitely. That happens to be of the most popular for variety here" Thank goodness she changed the subject--he wasn't one to be a fan of mentions of his past anyway or anything too gloomy after all.
With a light motion of his hand, waving, he took a few steps forward, acknowledging the various flowers around his, making a sort of aisle-way. As he walked he noticed flowers that caught his eyes. Carnations, lilies, tulips, chrysanthemums. So, so many. It was a wonder as to how he managed to keep them all up. Sniffing, hoping that she wouldn't notice the odd gesture, he nitpicked for the odd perfume of the roses. There, to the right of the desk, they had rested in bouquets, seed packets, and pots. "Over here, you can find them miss" He spoke with a cheery voice.
